Lyrics:
Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

This is why they call him "THE VOICE"!!
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
I'm 74 and I'm in love with Steve Perry
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
I was born in September 1981.
I first learned that they had come to Japan a few months before I was born.
Now I'm addicted to his voice!
I’m 12 and this is my kind of music that is how good Steve is
If you're listening this in 2022, you've got a very good music taste.
Jesus Steve's hair is fucking perfect. I think i have a man crush on that magnificent mane
@ Eoin,
I know right. It's always so shiny and beautiful. I would love to have his hair.
There will never be another Steve Perry.....
GREATEST song of all time.
I agree, "the greatest song of all time" on so many levels!
Absolutely 💯😘es ist meine Hymne.
DON'T EVER.. STOP BELIEVING !!!!😇😇😇
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
❤❤1st January 2024....
STILL LISTENING TO YOU STEVE PERRY ....LUV YA..FOREVER .💋💋💋
His voice.... but- those eyes!!!
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
Seriously beautiful man.
No Auto tune, no tape tracks, just pure musicianship, talent, and emotion. These guys are the epitome of professional. We don't see that often these days.
Magnum Muscle ;N
And hair
No, we don't see "that" at ALL, theses days....
NOOOOO ONE CARES!!!! That music is still good, sure a lot of it doesn't have serious meaning but the songs are fun and people want to have fun, which is a normal human being experience. And sometimes I'm the mood to be sad as shit so I come to songs like this. You can try to appreciate both.
What the heck is a tape track? please explain.
Doesn’t get any better than Perry and Schon! What an epic voice.
anyone in march 2024

Such powerful voice! I don't get tired of listening to him.
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
He has perfect pitch and knows how to work a room, puts his whole being into his work! Nobody before or since can match him no one!!🎤❤️🎶🎼
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
When you have a voice like this you don't need fireworks half naked women dancing behind you.
No one could ever replace Steve Perry than himself he is the original and classic journey singer !!!!🤩
See kids... a real singer who can sing the same live as on the record, no auto tune required.
Robert Luben disagree. he could sing even better live ! :D
Agus C He sounds the same... I'm guessing you've never listened to that recording outside of the quality of an MP3.
That's The shit! I hope music like this comes again!
FreddieUltraPro YT good kid 👍
Now that's a voice !
Pure magic in the air that day in Japan... Nostalgia at its finest. Imagine being there that day. So special.
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
That’s still my Steve! Even at 74 my baby can still do it!! Go my friend!!!❤❤
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
That hair, That voice, no one like him ,unique Steve perry .
The best voice and hair in rock.
That light in his eyes 😍
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
If i were given a wish to pick a song as my own song. This is it. Nothing more.
I miss the times when the people just enjoyed the music and the performance, no smartphones, no selfies... jut enjoy and live your own experience.
Amen! I refuse to pay the high ticket prices nowadays to go to a concert and not be able to clearly hear the performances.
Every time he sings it, it's perfect! Unbelievable vocal talent. The best male vocalist ever. Also, Steve always looks so happy when he sings. What an angelic voice! Love, love , love....I never get tired of hearing Steve sing!!!!!
One of the best voices of all time.
In my 26yrs of existence, none had rivaled Steve's talent. I can only desire to have this kind of voice. Many can sing but only a few can be really exceptional.
THIS IS LIVE! NO ELECTRONIC ENHANCEMENTS! NO CORRECTIONS BY “AUTO-TUNE!” REAL RAW TALENT! TALENT! TALENT!
*Happy Birthday Steve Perry!* ❤️
How many times have YOU heard this song...in say, the last 43 years???
Haha, the Japanese crowd is so different. They're so respectful and remain
quiet. But make no mistake, they're loving the performance. :)
Mr. Hyde thanks for clarifying, they looked bored before I knew this😂😂
Mr. Hyde Hbjhhhgggggghhhhhhhhhuuuuuhuhhuuu
They appreciate music. They are there to listen to music. Not to scream, make noise and be stupid like the gringos, making it harder for the singers to perform. Notice how comfortable is for Perry to do his thing without killing himself, thanks to this crowd
@@gfexc 😂😂😂😂
In the United States this place would be exploding there would have already been elevendyseven people dead and like everyone is wasted
How does he sing this song every concert it’s so impressive that he smiles while singing
Steve Perry was a gift to music and singing. Simply amazing.
There WILL NEVER BE ONE LIKE HIM!
In my opinion, Steve Perry has the most incredible, amazing, beautiful voice in this entire world!!!! ❤❤❤
The best song of the 80's.
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
He loves this t-short hehehe same in the Huston performance
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
How lucky the people in Japan were to see Journey and Steve Perry live in concert!
Steve Perry's voice was a miracle!!!
Steve you are the best rock singer ever!!!!
Great times and memories. When we had actual Rock BANDS, that could actually sing and play instruments. That's a real freaking voice!!!!
Hello Jd 🥰❤️, hope you having a nice day, God bless Steve
Because it’s not the case anymore ? You are misunderstanding personal nostalgia with reality
@@Mistereify I don't think so. In the world of music today you don't even have to know how to sing to become a star. They can do it all in the studio. Look around you can probably count on one hand how many singers have actual musicians backing them up. Most just use music tracks. Thats today's reality. Thanks for the comment.
Theres some talent coming back though.. thank God for the Rock Band game..... :)
@Jd 80's bands were Nothing but pure tallant 😎
Man, that voice...
How do you sing a song in concert that sounds just like the actual recording that is absolutely amazing
I really like this version of Don't stop believing! Steve has such a flawless voice! No comparison to other singers at all! Just the voice and the voice alone! Little did they all know and the world know that this song would become their biggest hit ever 40 plus years later!! "Timeless music takes time" like Steve used to always say:)
I like this version they are so good
It goes on and on and on
Steve you are terrific and fabulous!! 🌹🌺💕💋
something very sweet and innocent about this dude.
I just thought the same thing... he looks kinda happy haha
he doesnt mask his true personality. he's around 70 now and still as happy i think he always just appreciated the fact that he could do the job he was doing cos of his love of music.
He is an ENFP. Gives that vibe
Anyone listening to this during quarantine? This is literally my favorite song!
I was actually listening before then. I usually have a Journey marathon once a week
@@penny_the_wiser413 Journey marathon: great idea!
@@doloresgrandes2536 maybe I'll do that today
@@penny_the_wiser413 Greetings from Aruba!
Me! 28 year old single mom lol my dad sung this to me all my childhood ♥️♥️
I don't care what nobody says I love this song.
I love the song and emotions and his face reaction
Each singer and player made this song what it was. Jon's piano starting it off. Ross's bass was fantastic keeping time for us. Sean's lead guitar giving it that get down rock sound and then that wonderful voice packing the tune and high notes that we all love so well. One of my favorites till I die. 🎵🎹🎸🎵🎸🥁🎶🎤♥♥ I will have the OOOHH OOH OH OH in my head all day ...and I love it
What a beautiful audience.
OMG The music of the 80's has yet to ever be matched. The artist in our time didn't need voice enhancing machines to make them sound so amazing 😎. It is pure tallant.

Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
OMG! Seriously, I've been wondering the same about you since your hip replacement , I hope it was a success? My husband had 4 left and 2 right hip replacements as well as 2 right elbow replacements. So it's been a long haul for him. I'm bed ridden 95% of the time and just wanted you to know how much your songs, your videos and your voice have meant to world to me, they keep me entertained and so positive. Wish you were still touring with the band, it's just not the same without you, but I understand we have to chose the path that makes us happiest. Thank you for sharing your talent, gift, courage and personality with all of us. I live in Canada, keep checking to see if you will ever tour again, solo or with the band. For now, I really enjoy your youtube posts too! Always remember you are so loved from your fans and I wish you the very best life has to offer. You are a very special man, always good looking too! lol

Steve Perry always pulls it off perfectly live!! I've probably been to 50 Journey concerts & he was always perfect.
I will never, in my LIFE be able to thank Glee enough for the enjoyment and pleasure and sheer joy that I've gotten from this song and the 80s music it introduced me to.
One of the greatest songs on the planet.
The audience in Japan was sit 🙄 I would had been screaming, dancing, singing at the top of my lungs!
I wanna take the midnight train back to 1980 and dance with you onstage Stevie!
Barbara Hill , I will already be up there, hahaha🎶💕
Me too, had/have a huge crush on him.
Yeah, but not to this song. It wasn't written yet. in 1980 Journey would be out on their Departure tour with Gregg Rollie still in the band. Then you would see them at their absolute peak.
So talented and handsome yay Steve
Hello Angelica, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.

Beautiful thing, I really miss when there was real rock
Why do I cry when I listen to this song?

The best voice in Rock and Roll without a doubt. Die hard Journey fan!
Steve looked like he was having so much fun. I’ll never understand why he left.
Blame the manager. Journey toured way too much, burnt out Steve Perry. Manager refused to reduce number of shows.
If my memory serves correctly, initially the band with Neil at the head was going to be an instrumental. Neil didn't want a singer but his management said that if you want to sell albums you better have a singer. So they got Steve but if I remember correctly he was never treated that well.
he got throat cancer so he couldnt sing this good anymore
@@bradyjessup8835 that’s a total lie. He never got throat cancer. He said in an interview that people thought he had cancer because he was taking his terminally ill mother to specialists and recognized him waiting for her at hospitals.
He never lost his voice and still sounds great. He left in 1987 because he was burnt out from overtouring and needed time to grieve the loss of his mother and breakup with longtime girlfriend. His mom died while they were recording Raised on Radio.
Come on Japan - don't stop believin' !
This song will forever remind me of my sister before her accident. She used to like Journey in 1981 and that's when this song came out. She was 16, I was 3 years younger.
+Vicki Bee I am so sorry.
Oh no...did something happen to her?
One of the greatest rock song of all time!!!
there are not concerts like this one today...
CONCERTS IN 2020 A-HA IS COMING TO JAPAN

Simply the best❤
They made it.YES YES YES .Rock hall of fame
The Voice!!!!
I never realised what a profound song this was until I read the lyrics. This is far more than just a catchy riff with a great chorus it's a very moving homage to damaged and frustrated lives.
And then compare it to the text of today's so-called musicians.
+PuroYO i mean there are still a few good musicians today.
+leo50perez like who?
Princess Twilight Sparkle Brendon Urie for one. That boi can sing like a mofo.
there really isn't any good ones anymorw
