- Sometimes the hardest step is starting. It felt great to be in the woods, collecting logs and then finally cutting the first dovetail notches I have cut in over three years. These logs will be used to build the first building of the new dovetail log cabin homestead.
if you are looking for plans for Jigs, please check our @OnBeaverCreek and logdovetailjig.com - Fred is the man!

Very nice, this will be fun to watch! A great start and a well edited video.
Thanks! Let me know when you are around and I'll finally come down so we can meet up.
@@PenniacWilderness Just asked the neighbor about the laneway and if it was possible or not. Needs a few more days according to his wheel ruts. 😬
I do like log cabin builds. The jig your using is quite cleaver. I have subbed in to follow along and will take a look at your prev postings. This one looks like fun....
The jig idea come from logdovetailjig.com - Great guy and builder. I am using his plans for my build.
Looking forward to watching your build.
Thanks - I'm looking forward to learning to use the skidding winch soon!
@@PenniacWilderness it’s on the way, loaded it into the truck this morning myself.
Looking forward to following along to this project
Howdy brother- you got a taste for roughness. If we had that much snow falling nobody but the kids would be outside lol. Looking forward to seeing your new cabin going up. Hope you have a great weekend. God bless
Got to enjoy the last bit of snow before spring truly sets in here. Won't be long and we will have no more snow, but the air will be filled with mosquitoes and blackfoies for a month :)
As always .. very happy to follow along on your journeys and Thank you so much for sharing ! You’re the epitome of anyone that’s grown up in the northern U.S. and into the provinces of Canada ! … there’s a job to do and you have the time to do it! What’s the weather gonna be like? ::: doesn’t matter ! 😂. Gettin it done !! Right at 48” for past 3 storms. Same for you I’m sure . lol. Take care my friend
Reminds me of The old joke of how do you tell the weather on the Atlantic coast? Answer: you look at a rock. If it's covered in snow - snowing. If it's wet - raining. If this dry -sunmy. Etc ha
I'm envious of your snow.
Alright, here we go again! I'm about to learn something! Is this for you or your Sister!? No matter what, I have no doubt that it will be entertaining to watch the process, JB. 😁👍
Hi JB! An upgrade for me, I'm afriad. Hope you'll still enjoy it ;)
@@PenniacWilderness yes I will. It's all good and you know I will be watching! Maybe your Sister and her family will stop by and help! 😁😉👍🙏

Very nice jig!
❤❤❤🎉😮👍👍👍👍😮🤝👈
It's soothing to watch you work in the beautiful snowfall while I sit in a warm house and neglect my chores. I am looking forward to enjoying this build cousin, thank you for sharing the views of the stream and the forest.
Glad you are able to enjoy it and that it has connected us. I hope to be in BC this year and if in Vancouver I'll reach out!
Nice dove tail jig you have there. I take it , it was your own design?
The jig plans come from Fred @ logdovetailjig.com - he is a great guy and can make plans for any log and gap size.
I'm really looking forward to this build. Let the fun begin.
Thanks, me too!
