My 2018 Honda CR-V got totaled by a severe hail storm in July. My 2010 Hyundai Sante Fe just got totaled by a woman running into me on Monday. While we are both ok. I am heartbroken. That was by far my favorite car ever and I am almost 60 years old. 145,000 miles of flawless performance. I was able to get a Tucson as a rental car. At first I was a bit underwhelmed. It just looked meh to me. We left the rental place and drove to the Toyota dealer to test out a Rav 4. Then we drove a new Highlander. My husband has a 2016 Highlander, which is a good car as well. But different. I have the issue with his Highlander that my left arm goes numb because there is just no where comfortable for me to put it. The Rav 4 was a bit better, but only slightly. By the time we left the Toyota dealership, my left arm felt like it belonged to someone else. I got into the Tucson. Immediately both of my arms were comfortable. The seats hold me well. I REALLY had to push the car to feel the difference from my v6 Sante Fe. I have not stopped raving about how damn comfortable that steering wheel is in the Tucson!!! Where has that steering wheel been my whole life? Everywhere I rested my hands or gripped on it, my hands were relaxed and comfortable. I felt like I could relax my legs more in the Tucson vs the Rav 4. Even though I am a woman I felt I could properly man-spread. The rear area looks bigger and sits better too. I have always appreciated Hyundai's tighter, quicker and responsive handling over our Highlander. Which like I said is different. It is more floaty feeling. A little bit too much for me. The Rav 4 handled similarly to the Highlander. The Toyota always feel like they have a moment of indecision when I punch it. I have never felt that with my Hyundai. I thought the Tucson accelerated smoother and braked better. But I will be honest. A Hyundai just feels like home to me. Unless I see something really bad about the Tucson, it is going to be my next vehicle. I just need to decide what trim level now. Thank you for the video. It was helpful. I agree that I strongly prefer a stick. I do not like the buttons. I like to rest my hand on the shifter on long drives across country.

I am kicking myself for buying my second new Hyundai in six years. First was the 2018 Elantra and it was good for what I paid. Next I bought the 2020 Tucson SEL and that’s where my opinion changed. Only has 23,000 miles, mostly from two big trips. I have babied my vehicle. Hyundai took three weeks fixing it and wouldn’t give me a loaner. Nice. Once in a while acts like it doesn’t want to start, but always does. That’s some mysterious issue. Warranty doesn’t transfer to new owner. That sucks. Overall zero confidence in the vehicle. As the very unhappy owner of a 2020 Tucson SEL w 23,000 miles, I totally agree with you. I also want to forewarn you on how awful Hyundai as a company is to deal with when there’s an issue. I’m selling mine. Buy a Toyota instead.
@@GirlNextDoor1968 Well, you bought the cheapest engine imaginable then complain about it... you need to do RESEARCH before you buy the 2nd most expensive thing in your life. If you don't like slow acceleration, get a better engine, there are options out there... TEST DRIVE before you buy. Also, don't fall for internet meme's like "all Toyotas are great, super reliable and never break down"... 5 seconds of research will show you two things: 1) You pay more for less with Toyota 2) Toyota and General Motors are telling the owners of about 61,000 older Corolla, Matrix, RAV4 and Pontiac Vibe models to stop driving them because their Takata air bag inflators are at risk of exploding and hurling shrapnel in their face. Ya, that's right, massive recall for exploding shrapnel in your face... I bet your "Korean car" has never done that to you... watch out before your "Japanese car" showers you in shrapnel. Do some research before you buy, you sound like you're homing-in on ever rumor on the internet, do solid research... don't buy based on "well all Toyotas are super reliable"... not true... also not true "all Korean cars suck"... do your research, some Toyotas shower you in shrapnel and some Korean cars have shitty engines... i've had two Hyundai cars in a row, and NEITHER had any engine issues at all... in fact, loved them both... but I also didn't buy the cheapest engine trim available to save a buck... you get what you pay for (unless it's Toyota, then you don't get what you pay for, since they mostly just sell to people that think the name badge is more important than what's under the hood). Sit in MY TUCSON 2023 Hybrid... that I did research on before buying... it has TONS of power, TONS of torque... I take off at stop lights like a race car and spend about $30/month on gas in my Hybrid, engine is quiet as can be, everyone who has been in it or drove it loves it... You have a YOU experience because YOU didn't do any research (or apparently no test driving) before you bought it... you wanted to save a buck, bought the slowest, lowest engine you could, now want to complain it sucks... just because you didn't do your homework doesn't mean it's Hyundai's fault... that's on YOU. Every car manufacturer makes cheap cars and good cars... you chose the former, I chose the latter. You hate Hyundai because you did zero research, I love Hyundai because I knew not to buy the engine you did. More research, better car, different result... see how that works? Pro tip... look at Horsepower, torque and 0 to 60 numbers before you buy a car if engine performance is important to you... once again BEFORE you buy a car... those numbers were all out there before you bought your car, you could have test drove it, you have no-one to blame but yourself. Be careful of flying shrapnel since you want to go Japanese.
Yeah the push button gear shift buttons is a trend that should stop. You have to think to use it and will never get used to it. It is dangerous to operate.
How is it dangerous? I wasn't a huge fan of it at first, but I've gotten used to it, and it doesn't bother me after a year of use. As for trends, Hyundai has already abandoned this version... the 2025 Tucson has a digital column gear shifter like the Ioniq5 has. (The 2025 Tucson is already out in Korea).
Nice review, there is a new 2025 model released in korea , they changed the dashboard, and added a bookshelf on the dashboard , the front also looks slightly different , in honesty the 2022 version looks better than the 2025 model, It still has the same jerky dry dual clutch transmission
Transmissions are specific to markets. NOT A SINGLE TUCSON IN AMERICA since the 2022 model has a dual clutch... not one... Korea has different engines and Transmissions. The 2025 Tucson in America will almost certainly continue the current trend of an automatic transmission.
@wolfshanze5980 you can literally go on hyundai USA and choose a 1.6 turbo with dual clutch , The other version is the 2.5 with an 8 speed automatic, not a single one in North America with dual clutch?, hyundai USA disagree with your statement
@@warcrabcyber9908 You're drunk... lay off the booze... the ONLY 1.6L Turbo options for a Tucson on Hyundai USA are 6-speed automatic or 6-speed automatic... THERE ARE NO CURRENT TUCSONS IN THE US THAT OFFER A DUAL CLUTCH as I stated... you really need to lay off the booze, pal.

Bullshit info. Tucson was redesigned for 2021, not 2022. And there is a new 2024 model that you missed. The model you review is exactly the same as the 2021 version.
Hey there, thanks for the thoughtful comment. When we use years, we're referring to model years. The 2022 Tucson, released (and reviewed by us) in 2021 was the first year of the fully redesigned fourth generation. This is the 2024 model that was filmed at the end of 2023. The 2025 Tucson was recently previewed for the European market as a mild mid-cycle refresh to be released in 2024, and the U.S. will likely see a similar refresh. So no, we didn't miss a new model, and rest assured, when the 2025 model is released, we'll review it as soon as we're able.
@@cargurus So car models are always 1 year ahead? No way. Half a year at most. And you fail to reply my last remark: the model reviewed is exactly the same as the ‘21 model.

5 seconds of research will show you two things:
1) You pay more for less with Toyota
2) Toyota and General Motors are telling the owners of about 61,000 older Corolla, Matrix, RAV4 and Pontiac Vibe models to stop driving them because their Takata air bag inflators are at risk of exploding and hurling shrapnel in their face.
I like how people who review it dont like its look but its still a best seller lol
best seller among idiots.
i love the look, just don't like the indicators on the rear bumper
I love the look. It doesn't have that generic suv look that makes all other suvs in its class look-a -like
Is this a good first car? I know its big but I have a family
The SUV will seat 7 I believe...My Hybrid seats five.
I am very impressed
Does this car have usb-c or old usbA?
which trim has head up display?
I don't think any of them has it.
super review, thank you
Didn't Lexus do something similar and it looked like a spaceship and not an SUV?
Yeah the push button gear shift buttons is a trend that should stop. You have to think to use it and will never get used to it. It is dangerous to operate.
driving requires thinking. Plus, once you have the vehicle for an amount of time, the "muscle memory" kicks in.
Nice review, there is a new 2025 model released in korea , they changed the dashboard, and added a bookshelf on the dashboard , the front also looks slightly different , in honesty the 2022 version looks better than the 2025 model,
It still has the same jerky dry dual clutch transmission
Transmissions are specific to markets.
NOT A SINGLE TUCSON IN AMERICA since the 2022 model has a dual clutch... not one... Korea has different engines and Transmissions. The 2025 Tucson in America will almost certainly continue the current trend of an automatic transmission.
@wolfshanze5980 you can literally go on hyundai USA and choose a 1.6 turbo with dual clutch ,
The other version is the 2.5 with an 8 speed automatic, not a single one in North America with dual clutch?, hyundai USA disagree with your statement
@wolfshanze5980 nope the only one high is you , and the automatic transmission is still faulty and garbage.
The dual clutch versions are even worse

Hyundai is garbage , and you should stop smoking 🚬
You trying to prove me wrong but, the transmissions are not made well in any model , the Santa Cruz uses an automatic like the tucson and it fails in less than 50 000k
So not sporty in the least and definitely not rugged off road.... Is it at least reliable? I heard they had problems...
I was shocked why need review of almost gone car? Facelift is anounced
What's the difference between a Push Button Start and a Push Button Gear Shifter? Answer: Nothing ❤!!
Expensive. Tucson used to be affordable
hyunday is better than cars germany
did you ever buy one ? can't even spell the name -
This person does not sound very enthused about this vehicle no emotion in the review

Everything about this is ugly. The front, the rear. All of it
🥸😎🤓👍👍
19 inch wheels stupid for these cheap SUVs.
Not so cheap at £40,000
Yaya, have you paid your rent this month?
This is the mainstream SUV... there are a lot of cheaper SUVs on the market.
Cheap SUV ? well LA-DI-DA 😂
My son is in Tucson prison for 11years
Now and you have a car named Tucson just About the time he was shipped there in Arizona you are people with no empathy ,Jade sterling Tracy hAs 9 more years to do he was just 21 years old when he was sentenced,??? He is a soldiers grandson in all wars and you know how to make him feel bad about his life 😂😂😂
RAV-4 is so much better and best seller for a reason.
Prices are crazy
The Tucson is quiter and has a better ride.
Had one mey
I have a Rav4 it is very noisey
This is the 2023 model not 2024
We can assure you this was a 2024 model, what makes you say it was a ‘23?
Horrible exterior design.
Exactly, you’re presenting the current model. The new facelift will be available this year, 2024
