Watched you for time Kevin, not really a big comment person but just wanted to say your heart really is on your sleeve and it's always a joy to watch you and hear your passion for everything creative & nerdy. Bless ye bro
Season 2 needs to show Green Arrow as the back half of blue sparkle at the Bronie convention. That would be the funniest scene in tv and or movie history
@@Tequila628 perfect superman was Christopher Reeve. Reeve Superman is the first cinematic comic blockbuster super hero ever. Then Gene Hackman as Lex Luther was genius as well. Most people are over the cavill superman. Honestly Dean Cain was better as well. Give credit where it’s due
Peacemaker is a masterpiece. It takes risks, pushes buttons, makes you think, hits you in the feels, but also makes you smile, and laugh. Awesome interview. James Gunn is incredible, love what he and the Peacemaker cast and crew created: a work of art. Cannot wait for season 2
The true genius it doesn’t push away people do to politics. Infact it shows people from all walks of life looking past where they come from and becoming the coolest group of misfits ever seen on screen
Im so incredibly happy to see so many wholesome and encouraging comments in this video. Id love to see more of this from this community, and I'd love to see more 1 on 1 interviews like this.
God James Gunn is just a fucking legend. The way this man has twisted the comic book genre to his deranged, fascinating, character driven mind is just so God Damn inspiring.
Smith has been one of my favourite filmmakers for nearly thirty years and Gunn has joined those ranks over the last decade. Great interview with two excellent dudes.
Thanks for sharing Kevin!!! Peace Maker was a solid show. Wasn’t a fan of the idea but became a fan of the show. Once again James knocks it outside of the park.
I coincidentally watched the original live action TMNT with my daughter the same day that I binged the full series of Peacemaker, and it gave me a really good chuckle to have Master Splinters speech to Danny about how "All fathers love their children" in my head while watching Auggie Smith just exist in general.
One of the amazing things about Peacemaker is how James Gunn writes real characters that exist in real life (racists, etc) and then plays against them (thinking about the prison scene with Peacemakers dad and Vigilante).
Kevin. Your harrowing tale of heart attack and rebirth has inspired me to started eating better. Living a better life. So excited for thus inerterview.
Kevin always seems to have the best questions that could get the best answers and reactions from the people he interviewed. At one point it's just two people having an awesome chat.
Yea man there is just something about it. After each episode there is new context to it that reshaped it for me, and it’s also just so entertaining and pleasing to the eye.
There's a question missing from the interview: Will the extended and uncut versions of all of the improv scenes be released? I sincerely hope so. I guess John was listing celeb names for like a half-hour to frame instead of Chris' dad and he was popping the whole cast.
@@THEHollywoodHangouts Not really, writers are using the comics book medium to get a streaming service deal and Disney is positioning the MCU so they do not have to pay royalties to creators. Same for DC. But there are indie comics that still are good.
I said this on the clip I’ll say it again. I like suicide squad. Didn’t change my life but it was cool. But I am a huge James Gunn fan. When I saw peacemaker came out I was like you gotta be kidding me. But I didn’t know he made it …. I literally put it on as background noise to fall asleep. By the next day it’s my favorite tv show in a long long time. Hands down greatest opening to a show EVER. I wanted to hate this show but there is no way you can. I’m already rewatching it and going into a depression cause this shows about the only thing that’s made me this happy for a long time.
Where the hell is the 'Kev we saw in this interview the rest of the time? Here he's put together, professional and a joy to watch --straight up reminds me of pre-weed 'Kev.
Love both of these fellas. Kevin is such a fanboy. I think it's important for people to remember that the dudes who actually make the movies are the biggest fanboys of all
Suicide squad is definitely one of my favorite dc movies along with peacemaker being one of my new favorite dc shows, and you can see how much he worked on those 2 projects he shot them back to back and went into TSS with brown hair
Hey Kevin, not sure if you'll see this. I was in line in Austin waiting for your 2nd round the night you had your heart attack. I'm so glad you're still here with us
Just wanted to thank you for everything you do such an awesome interview! Not a lot of people know this but I got my name from you guys "snooch to the nooch!"
not about this video But motu is actually my favorite show right now. Its really god damn good. The soundtrack, i cant stop listing to it. Really hit that s hit outta the park
Marvel actually shot the Justice League scenes. Gunn was given permission to use Marvels cameras, equipment, etc…to shoot the scenes since he was already shooting Guardians 3
I didn't have my 20s and don't have my 30s for roughly the same reason. I pursued my artistic gifts because I could never make friends, still haven't and probably won't. I'm a literal jack of all trades at this point though because I spent all of my time alone honing gifts and abilities. I can play 4 instruments by ear with no professional training (still don't know how to read music), I can cook at maybe a 4 star level with no training, I taught myself to draw and paint and eventually had pieces hanging in art museums with no training, taught myself to assemble electronics and how to program machines...and that's not to make me look special. I'm no more important than any of you, but it just goes to show... ...sometimes, being a complete social outcast is actually your greatest power if you can resist the temptation to flip it to the world and give up. Also, community is overrated sometimes.
Now the fools who simply hated James gunn should change their attitude towards him. Man there are few who threatened him in their tweets by punching him etc. But, after this they should know how Kevin Smith who was very much fond of Snyder works praises James Gunn and James who is still friendly with Zack. I hate those fools who threatened James more now than ever.
Great interview, we need more people like James Gunn in Hollywood, he creates amazing movies and now television for a wide and diverse audience as he's not preaching political ideology and judging people that have different political or ideological you used to himself , therefore not not alienating half the potential audience unlike what much of Hollywood is doing today. I loved peacemaker and it has the potential to be the best ever DC TV show ever made, can't wait for season 2

The Vigilante prison scene in ep.4 is one of the greatest things I've ever watched.
Real talk
Nah Peacemaker exposing Green Arrow being a bronie was gold
"fuck u, Barry" delivery from Momoa was priceless! Such a great show.
It was great to see them both as cameos. It looked like they were just going to tease us with shadowy figures.
That was on of the greatest moments from an already great show!
Yea, and also for me it was painful since PERFECT Superman Cavill was not there...

This is just fan-f*cking-tastic!!!
I was blown away with how GOOD Peacemaker was. Bravo to all involved. Great interview!!!
Here, here! Well said indeed!
I could watch these two talk for days.
Thanks for sharing Kevin!!!
Peace Maker was a solid show.

Kev is such a great interviewer
2 of my favorite writers and filmmakers having a decent conversation.
One day I hope you will interview me

Yea amazing how they always make out one group are racist as well never others, hang on a minute isn't that racist
23:25 I could feel Kev's pride swelling, that's great praise.
This is the single greatest interview we have EVER seen! Minds blown! Kevin Smith, Marc Bernardin and James Gunn are GODS!
I just binged the whole season and honestly I want more!
I want to see Kevin do more of these, I bet he could get GREAT perspectives from CBM directors that most interviewers can't

Just an awesome watch; two guys you know that love the medium of comics and respect it for what it is and love film as well.
Kevin, Garth Ennis just did a one shot of Peacemaker where he met with a headshrinker...
