I had the same year model back in early 1990's . These cars have terrible factory transmissions TH200R4 . I went through a couple of those transmissions until I listened to a mechanics advice and put a TH350 in it . Problem solved and yes if you do that you will need to change gearing in rear differential .😊
This is a very nice car, and certainly worth the asking price. Needs a new rear decklid, but it's a G-body----they always do, and it's easy and cheap to replace
In my day we called them Earl Jive so you know the rest here and also Mayco did the same jobs, because they where no longer listened as Mayco dealers any more. Finally crop Mayco got rid of all the dishonest dealers of the day, because there was no invoice # for the ticket that the people singed. For good Mayco dealers did everything that you asked and gave a good warranty.
Wow wow, holy maple motors this awsome baby is a dream, monte Carlo, design superb, and the price so cheap, thanks Nick great video and testdriving stay cool 😊😊😊😊
Not mad if someone wants to put big rims in it...not my style but as long as this car gets some TLC..it's a little rough...FYI those big rim cars are immaculate looking and running...so whoever buys it...enjoy it 😊.
They were a slug by today's standards, but they were respectful for what they were at the time. They were quicker than the ones they replaced in the late seventies and early 80s .
I graduated in '85 and trust me those cars were not fast, the only car in that time frame I respected was the '87 Buick GN and the '88 Pontiac TTA. Seemed strange to respect a V6 over the V8's of that time but it deserved it.
All you need is 100 octane gasolin, and this baby is a rocket ,my cars always use 100 octane, we can get it here ,in the sixty and seventy you could get 105 octane for rovers cars 😊😊😊
Very nice. Grew up in the back seat of a white 85 my mom bought new

Nice looking ride.
Happy Thanksgiving from Massachusetts.
Happy Thanksgiving from Houston Texas 😊❤

That's what a Earl Scheib $399 paint job looks like.

My favorite body style. 😍
I want one of these bad boys.
Nick ⭐️ 👍
$14,900? This is going to be sold by tomorrow.
a fool and his money are soon parted.
Brother Nick didn’t watch the whole video and it shows…
@@jasonbornne7767 I posted the comment before the video went live
@ You haven’t seen a Maple Motors video before? All of Nick’s cars have at least a half dozen issues..
🏆 Slick-looking Ride👀✌️
I never liked how the back looked on that model, I'm a truck searcher,so it don't matter 😂😂😂
Nice! Always liked the Monte Carlos, especially the 70's versions.
Nice for the money 💰
I never heard of an auto trans that didn't kick down, before this channel?

Very clean Monte! This will sell fast.
Another beautiful Monte SS.
my brother inlaw bought one new back in the days same color always liked the Monte Carlo
NICE
Hope somebody who appreciates it for what it is has a chance to buy it before Someone has a chance to put 30 inch rims on it
Lol 😂
nice transmission crossmember, im surprised the engine did not tilt back and fk up the whole car
Good eyes. I missed that the first time.
When you cut them for the dual exhaust, you have to fabricate a piece and weld it up.
@@pinkysgarage4517 I have seen it before, the engine will tilt back eventually and the fan will hit the shroud, then you know LOL
I had an 86 monte ss, I prefer the 86 grand national
When he stopped and gunned the engine, that doesnt sound like the factory engine.
They must have suped it up, or put in a 350.
The headers and open element air cleaner will change the sound somewhat.
That’s what we call a far-good paint job. Looks good from afar, but, far from good.
An untouched 86 monte ss!!!! That's rare in itself lol awesome ride🔥👍🏻
Liking the car for sure but who ever did that exhaust should learn how to weld better
You like that too, and 17 pieces after the headers to make that exhaust. 🤣
@@charlestoole1789 hahahaha, for sure one of a kind. But I really do like the car though. If i could right now I would buy it for sure.
Hopefully somebody doesn’t buy this & put some big goofy azz rims on it.. Keep it original & enjoy the car….
Well buy it so that won't happen
@ got one.. looking for something different
Ah the old GM slow window motor. Takes me back.
Funny how we thought those cars were fast back in the day. Class of 86..Irocs, 5.0 mustangs, Montes and maybe a Grand National... good times.
Exactly take me back to those good old days😢
I'm class of 87. I recall if anything new or newer could run mid 15's in 1/4 mile, people were thrilled.

0to 60 in 6 seconds was SO FAST!!

Needs at least $5k worth of work.
Much more
5.0 ?
if it's all original it is a 5.0, that 's all they came with from the factory.
My dream car!
Sold
gimme it
Nice ride except it needs a real motor that car was a slug back in the 80's. I smell a LS swap !! Or a big block ! That is what I would do with it !
Shut up
I agree that factory 305 was extremely slow if that was my ride I would go with a 383 stroker🎉
14,900 I'd pass
Why is the video screwed up? I see nothing but lines?
I'm watching it on my phone and it's crystal clear Hi def picture
@randymcmanus8691 Sorry, I had to adjust the setting in my player
Yal ship to hawaii?
I don’t think the AC works in any G body . Bad design
