Super helpful your video, man thanks.
You help me out, the other videos I've seen. Nobody tells us what you're telling us.
great joy bro i am new in the drums world and you make it look easy, i know is long way to the top if i want to rock and roll... one minute that is a song jajajaja, thx
Thanks you helped me a lot!
ur a great drummer
I do paradiddle groove when playing that song
Cool 😎 video. Yea
Nice job fella!!
When i listened to the song on the radio and the bell part kicked in, i thought: .....needs more cowbell ! :D
okee no jokes anymore: stephen. stephen, stephen, stephen. your so freakin talented ! if i tried to play this song it killed me, it cracked my brain and you played it like it is as simple as breathing. i am realy really impressed now ! Thanks for being and teaching man ;)
That cowbell pattern just so happens to be the 2-3 Rhumba clave!!!
Got to the second I should quit guitar maybe not completely but I have a good. I should be playing drums. Got new hip so. Yea I got this. Thanks 🙏 for the info. Love.
I found a great mnemonic for the Mambo cascara:
I don't like chicken
I like potatoes
(The "I" is the pick-up, and the "don't" is the1.)
That's the 2-3. Just reverse it for the 3-2.
@DrummerEtc i thought a clave stretched over two bars? but yea, i know it's on the "e" of two! it's just not the clave i'm familiar with
This guys my doppelganger lmfao, its so weird
Still can’t play the song 10/10 tutorial tho
muchas gracias Stephen , muy bueno
loven ur beard thingy thing lol
🙏🙏🙏🙏😎😎😎😎
Cannot get the mombo pattern down when doing the drag and ghost parts on the snare. And the disco hi-hat in the chorus is driving me insane. Slowed it right down and practiced it over and over but I still can't play it whilst working the snare. You make it look so easy and it's annoying the hell out of me that I can't do it >:(
Yea. Love the cow bell
Its cool man 👍🏻
I'm having trouble with the mambo pattern along with the inner beats. Any piece of advice would be much appreciated. Love your videos Stephen!
Got it I think.
I’ll get it
Love it
Okay
The Chili's had a percussionist called Marco Rufoso playing on the album, so it wall probably him playing the mambo. Liking some of your videos though, some good information - keep it up!
is the cowbell pattern a double time 2-3 clave? with the second hit of the 2 on the "e" instead of the downbeat of 2?
Wow.
I always wondered how to play that weird rhythm in this song. Thanks
This was really helpful but where do I go learn the beat u said to learn?
Stephen, thanks for this lesson. Same thing happen to me when I heard the song. I'm just learning some latin grooves and just started learning the mambo so when I heard the pattern I was like "hey that sounds familiar!" This is one song I want to learn for sure. Definitely an interesting mix with the mambo, clave-ish cowbell, rock beat and disco!
Can you do a Drumming Lesson of "Monster" by Paramore!? Please ! :)
Haha I love getting like in the first 5 comments! Stephen YOUR AWESOME!
This is exactly what I thought when I first heard the song! Gotta love the peppers, can't wait for them to come to the US!
Is that cowbell pattern called a Hemiola?
@povonodo Dude, this is actually very helpful.
Ahahahaha Grande! You're awesome! Thanks!
The beard's coming on Stephen :O
