I’ve been doing a lot more reading and watching videos on how to properly set up and adjust the end links and sway bars. Seems you have to adjust the center collar on the end links while the suspension is loaded and you don’t want any tension on the bar while at ride height. I installed the exact same end links and sway bar front & rear like you, but definitely need to go back and check everything over again and re-adjust the end links….
@@JoeyMontalto Just curious why you adjusted the front end links on the shortest setting and didn’t match them to the OEM length and adjust from there?
@@JoeyMontalto Ok thanks! I appreciate your time. Just wasn’t sure if there was some other issue. I will leave mine adjusted at the shortest length as well then 🤙🏼
I've been using the sway bar links that came with my bc racing coilovers and one of them failed the other day and the car is making a clunking sound. Piece of junk coilover set all together. Should have spent a couple hundred more for something better. Anyways, I just bought the smy end links since I already have their rear lca and toe arms. I wanted to go with smy since they have a lifetime warranty for their parts. I made sure to purchase everything from their website too to make sure any warranty claims are fast and easy. Hopefully they never fail but if they do I have that peace of mind.
Hey there, I am installing fortune autos and smy links soon. Question, in your fortune auto install vid you used the stock end links, did this push the sway bar down do to the car being lower and the stock links being longer? You mentioned just keep the adjustable links the same length if you got them and install them. Did you keep the smy links oem length as well? I just had silvers on the car and got terrible clunks. Brought to a shop and they confirmed it wasn’t an install issue. Trying to avoid any issues with the fortunes. Thanks
I ran the oem endlinks the entire time with the fortune autos no issues and no extra sounds. With the smy links and Whiteline sway bar I had to make them shorter to make it all fit nicely
@@JoeyMontalto awesome thanks for the info. So with a stock sway bar I should extend the smy end links to the stock end link length? Also what thread count measurements did you end up with on the coils for front and back for ride height? Car looks great
Can anyone comments on turn-in response and rotation in the corners? I never stiffen the front as the rear stiffness increase of 30-50% fixes all the WRX factory understeer. Used to autox, so can't sort out why anyone would ever stiffen the front one unlees they like pushing through corners insteaf of getting the rear to rotate.
most ppl don't know how to setup suspension and just throw all the parts they can at the car. it looks like Joey only does drag racing. I doubt he corners at the limit. on my fwd acura track car I have oem front sway bar. I did custom spring rates on my coils to 10k front 14k rear to be able to get proper rotation at auto-x. I only intend to do rear sway bar on my 23 wrx.
Hi Joey, I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind. I'm installing the Rallitek 1.5" lift springs on my WRX. I also got their HD front end links; do I start at the tallest length as mine is opposite from your setup? I'm also going to swap out the rear lower control arm with one from Cusco. The instruction manual is in Japanese. On Parts List #7, there are four plates that go in between the washers. Do you know what they're for?
I have 70 000 miles on mine and the owners manual does not say anything for engine carbon buildup my 2022wrx is stock .should i be concerned about carbon buildup? And if so is there anything that will remove it without the cost of wallnut blasting?
Love your build!!! Im on the same path!!! 💯💯💯
Another good video. Keep it coming.
Looks like I’ll be doing this install next on mine as well! Thanks for another great video!!
Thanks for watching!

That is correct you adjust the endlink with the center collar. Mine are adjusted fine. I have no issues or extra sounds.

I did say it in the video the only way I could get them to fit nicely was to shorten them. I kept shortening until it fit perfectly.

Im looking to buy the SMY endlinks. Any updates on them? No clunking noise after having them on for a while?
Just make sure they are tight and you are good. I haven't had any issues with mine so far
@@JoeyMontalto thanks for the quick reply! will buy them now 😆
Front sway bar was fun and so was the motor mounts. This install should be good. Talk about a real pain in the ....
Oh forgot you got the turbo kit for some reason. Ya factory headers, ya no.

Did you have to put grease in the endlinks before installing?
Nope they come greased. The ports are there so they can be serviced if needed.
Bro this car is so built you need to do autocross or something. I want to see it all in legit action!

Trying to remove my stock sway bar and having a hell of a time getting it out of there. I have the stock J pipe 😡
Well I got it out. Had to take the metal cross bar support bracket piece off. 👍🏼
Nice!

Use the Subaru Engine Maintenance kit
Endlinks should have been adjusted with weight on the wheels. Best to do this on ramps.
