Fellow NJ native here George, been skating for over a decade now, have had kickflips consistent for most of that time. Tried learning frontside flips a few years ago but I was definitely overthinking it and tried it as a hardflip body varial. Put it on the back burner for some time but just started skating again recently after a few years hiatus - broke both my hands. Never thought of the idea of carving into it and honestly I feel like it's totally doable now! Gonna give these a shot again later today and hopefully I'll get em down, I'll definitely send you a clip if I do! Thanks for the tips homie! 🙏👊
Dude the fs carve randomly clicked for me a few weeks ago and I was able to do my first legit fs flips within like 30 minutes. Glad to see this is working for others as well!

I started learning these doing the magic flip version of it but i cant land them often and it feels like a battle between the 180 and the kickflip to get the flick out at just the right time, definitely gonna try to relearn them like this! Appreciate the video! Makes sense now everyone was telling me it looked like a hard flip
Today I l spontaneously started to learn varials and surprisingly got really close to landing them!! I can't wait to continue with them and maybe I'll also try fs flips then :)
