I bought the 360 and later the 365 because I loved the form factor but I always wished Tecsun would add a numeric keypad. Naturally I bought the 368 the first time I saw it and was happily surprlsed to discover there is much more to it than the numeric keypad. It rapidly became my go-to radio. I absolutely love it.
I have the Tecsun s 8800. The main dial broke in an hour. It was such a pain to get it to the UK, plus it came in bloody Chinese, i still kept it. Still love my old C R Crane over all of these!
Great video and a wonderful demonstrated comparison among those three rigs! I really can hear a major improvement in reception on the 909X when you plugged in the external wire antenna into the external antenna jack! Loved it! Thanks!
Plugging the antenna into the jack will eliminate noise the whip is picking up and bypass the circuitry minimizing whip sensitivity, Sangeans are purposely made deaf on the whip, something about Asian and European stations being too strong, don't know why since they put an attenuator on it, 909's shine on outside antennas but that's not really portable.
I’d like to pick one of these up but they don’t seem to be in the UK yet. I love the Pl-360 and the fact you can use an external EFW on MW, at night I can pull in over 50 stations, some from Spain and France. Good point on sometimes using a basic set up too, I’ve got loops but sometimes it’s nice to just throw a wire out of the window and see what you get 👍🏼
I must notice one moment: ATS-909X receives much better with that antenna wire connected not to the whip, but external antenna input. At least my ClearMod Sangean displays exactly that behavior.
I believe you are correct, however in my experience the difference is not very big so I just use whatever is on hand at the time. Also I have had a Tecsun radio break because the antenna input port broke from putting the antenna connector in and out. So I am afraid that these ports are fragile. Thank you for your comments.
I actually have a 30 and a 30+ as well as a Wellbrook and NTI/Bonito Megaloop. I love the loops! I use all different kinds of antennas for different applications. The attraction to this simple wire is its compactness and simplicity especially for traveling. It gets decent results. I have a video showing my Yaesu 5000 with 3 different antennas and a comparison, you should check it out
Lovely radio but I have a serious problem with my PL-368 with fw version 3682, the other day I had it on charge, when I took it off charge and turned it on the AM section (MW,LW,SW) was completely deaf...even using the "hidden" feature by long pressing 3 for internal vs external antenna made no difference, it's completely useless now (except FM is fine) so is there was way to reset this radio?
I use the AN200 occasionally but it is a lot more nosier than my loop antennas so it just sits in the corner mostly. I have received my 330 and it operates the same as all the other videos out there. I think it is a slightly better radio than the 368 due to a few more features. It is not more sensitive or even selective but there are a couple user features that make it nicer.
How does this perform on listening to USB/LSB Ham Radio Rag chews? Im a ham operator and I do a lot of QRP operations and sometimes I dont want to setup my radio. I just want to listen so something like this might help alot.
It works very well. In SSB you can tune as fine as 10 hz. Plus the newest version with the latest firmware will allow you to zero set the frequencies in SSB so it will read dead on.
That sync on most Tecsuns that feature it works substandard. Maybe it is not fair to compare the Tecsuns with a Sony ICF2010/2001D but it is remarkable that Tecsun is still not able to a least put a good working sync circuit in its receivers. The sync circuitry on the little PL-368 works but it is just not stable enough. It constantly struggles to follow the signal. Strange thing as well is that there is a switchable LW. If you do eliminate that band, the sensitivity on AM drops quite a bit. So leave LW on, always. LW itself on this radio is next to non existent, over here in Europe we still have some LW stations left, on of them is BBC Radio4 and two transmitters from Iceland and, Denmark a few times a day transmitting weather reports. BBC Radio4 has a strong signal but the PL-368 struggles to bring it in at all, all of my other radios do that with ease! So in short, on the PL-368 you’ll find many bells and whistles that do work but just not good enough.
The bias in favor of PL-368 is pretty evident. You didn't need to use the PL-660 and the Sangean to justify your preference. It's your channel after all, but bias is not a good thing.
That 368 is so tempting with its enhanced etm tunning and sync detection as well as the keypad, makes it very nearly perfection for its size.

i know it is kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to stream newly released movies online ?
@River Memphis Thanks, I went there and it seems to work :D I appreciate it!
@Eden Jordy Glad I could help :D

tks for this...FB, OM... have the 368 coming in a week... gonna miss the AA battery, but can still recharge via a 7W solar panel (have a GP5)

have the pl-330 coming soon from AliExpress can't wait to try it
I hope you enjoy it!
Nick your UA-cam videos are awesome my friend

Order from Anon-co. They are very reputable, one of the best companies I have ever done business with. They will have the 368 in a couple weeks

You should aquire the MLA30 or MLA30+ magnetic loop antenna. That would help all your radios with the electrical noise in the city.

dieselten01 Good to know, looks like I was preaching to the choir.

Hello
Which one better on Am
Best Regards
Are there any difference between the Hangrongda 747 and this? thanks, Levi
I don’t know anything about that radio
Did you also try the AN-200 (if I see that in the background correctly ) antenna? And was you able to compare the PL-330 with the PL-368 meanwhile?

The main problem I see with the 368 is that that antenna isn't rotatable.
it's designed to clip onto a reel antenna.
Very interesting devices
Nick 73s my friend that means best wishes

Do you know if there is a way to keep the back light on please..
I have not found a way. My instruction book was only in Chinese
@@dieselten01 so is mine.. Its of to chinese college for me then😋
@@Team-fabulous or google translate😎
Nick my hobbies are painting pictures 🖼 and listening to shortwave and ssb iam thinking about getting my Grms license my friend
Is the reverse SSB tuning bug on this radio?
I do not know what that is. I have used SSB and it seems to work fine
Mine does not but I'm on the latest firmware for the Tecsun PL-368.
How does it's work in radio
I am sorry but I don’t understand your question
I see a aony an-1
Yes sir, you have a sharp eye!

All of them are totally useless...a waste of money
What would you recomend?
