In this video, we will show you how to record and acoustic guitar using PreSonus Studio One. Studio One is a popular digital audio workstation (DAW) that allows you to record, edit, and produce music and audio tracks.
First, choose a quiet room with good acoustics and minimal background noise. Position the guitar and microphone in a way that captures the full range of the instrument's sound, using a cardioid pattern microphone for the best results.
Next, adjust the microphone's gain and placement to get the right balance between the guitar and any ambient noise. It may also be helpful to use a pop filter to reduce plosives (hard "b" and "p" sounds) and a shock mount to reduce handling noise.
Once you have the right setup, it's time to record! Play the guitar and listen back to the recording to make sure it sounds the way you want it to. If you're not happy with the sound, try adjusting the microphone's position or adding some EQ to shape the tone.
With these tips, you'll be well on your way to recording professional-sounding acoustic guitar tracks in no time!

I'd say this was a decent introduction to recording an acoustic especially the setting of input levels and mic placement. The type of mic used is very important even if you have just one at the beginning. Be it dynamic, large or small condenser they will diminish or accentuate the sonic signature of your acoustic. Primarily, the type of pick and style of strings will add their own character as well, and fresh strings are a must imo. One thing I felt should be included is the song tempo/click track, and monitoring regarding interface latency which will vary but the freshman recordist should be made aware when doing solo work...keep teaching us, and carry on !! 🏆

I can't say enough good things about those Roswell mics. I've had a match pair of Mini K47s for 5 years now, they were the first quality condenser mics I purchased. I also think that Eastman sounds killer; also a fan of that brand.

I recorded a lot of acoustic late last year but had to abandon it because the parts of the song sounded different to each other and the whole thing ended up sounding like it was stitched together. I too point the mic at the fret board. I might try it your way at the weekend. I was pointing the mic from the neck side towards the 12th fret at an angle so to capture the sound hole too. Tone was decent but man, recording acoustics is a pain, I’ve been doing it for year and had some amazing results but it’s not fun.

Great value for the money and sound every bit as good as a Gibson or Martin, in my opinion

I’ve felt the same way about plugging my acoustic in but I thought it was just something I was doing wrong. I played with settings forever and was unable to get a tone I was happy with.

HiDavid, good vid. that mic sounds very good for the price... have you ever checked out AdvancedAudio in Canada ? They make some of the most amazing mics for really good price points i have a vingtge u87 1976 and after i heard the AA mics, I sold the vintage neumann and bought 4 of AAs mics... Check them out... and thanks again for a good vid.

A few other tips for beginners… Don’t use a chair or stool that creaks or squeaks, keep the metronome click volume down, and make sure the instrument is tuned up. Microphones are unforgiving
