    It’s such a great feeling to go out back & shop for your produce. You get a sense of pride @ your successful hard work & there’s no inner voice wondering if it’s gonna taste ok. Or if it’s dry, mealy, or whatever like the last store shipment was. You know exactly what you’re eating & you know it’s 100% gonna taste better than the store! It’s hard to describe the feeling you get from growing your own food. You just gotta experience it for yourself. You reminded me of the days when we would pick bucketfuls of wild blackberries for cobbler @ my Nana & Papa’s house. They lived on the top of a huge hill in the northernmost city in CA; Smith River. Papa owned many acres of redwood forest & open hillside surrounding them. The blackberries lived @ the bottom of the hill, right by the cattle guard @ the entrance to the winding driveway. Was the perfect place for them to grow cuz none of the animals Papa raised could get over the cattle guard to eat them! There’s nothing like the taste of organically grown, fresh blackberries, right off the bush. Really enjoyed seeing the gorgeous tomatoes & everything else that’s coming along. Thanks for taking us along for the “shopping trip”! Enjoy your Sunday!

    Thanks for sharing! I love picking dinner from the garden! Im starting to get nice cucumbers pollinated. I also can't wait for my green beans, carrots, watermelon, radish, peppers, beats, lettuce, peas, corn, tomatoes and zucchini to pollinate as well. Everything is flowering and I have two pumpkins already that I will probably get by Halloween which is really exciting. I also have gotten nice blueberries and blackberries off of plants this year and I can't wait to get more next year. Those strawberries look so good. We live in Strawberry town in Florida so it's really exciting that we get fresh strawberries quite often without having to grow my own . I absolutely love to be out in my garden and being one with nature is such an amazing feeling and something I plan on doing and sharing with others! Thanks so much! I always give my plants away when I have extra after germinating and planting.

    Kim do you do any canning? I make the most delicious and beautiful salsa you ever tasted and can it. Then I give it to disabled veterans and disabled older folks as well. Year before last i canned and gave away over 300 quarts of homemade salsa and pasta sauce and juice. I also make 3 different types of pickles and can them as well. I give them away to. The waiting list this year is so long I don't know if I will have enough to give them out to everyone. My jars and lids and rings are a major cost to me. They have never brought back not one of my jars. 😥 I am disabled myself as a matter of fact August 17th I'm having 2 brain tumors removed from my spinal cord at the base of my brain. I have worked hard as I can but my health is really slowing me down. Anyway God Bless you for all the hard work you put in your videos and your garden I truly enjoy them.

    Due to a really dry season, (and not being diligent with watering), our garden has really struggled. I've managed to get enough tomatoes for a small batch of salsa, along with experimenting with growing peppers. Most of the garden has not produced well this year. However, my mind is already rolling to next year, don't give up because of one rough year, also looking forward to planting/experiment with more peppers, and probably some other things I haven't planted in the past. Its interesting to see how each gardener has their ups and downs, depending on the weather, location and other things too. Somehow we just get through it. Enjoy your harvest!

    This summer was my first time ever gardening and I started end of May. So far, I've harvested about 10 sungold tomatoes that were pretty acidic , basil, and some lacinato kale. My peppers were stunted and are just NOW getting new leaves, my eggplant's flowers keep dropping with the stem.. Darn bugs, pests, and diseases took over.. I'm still trying though and hoping for a much better outcome in the fall! Thanks for inspiring me to garden!

    • @CaliKim29
      @CaliKim29  6 років тому

      Yes pests are weather are the two biggest obstacles ,but stay with it, I can tell you have a passion for gardening. We actually learn from failures just as much as our successes!! Hot weather can stunt your plants and cause you blossoms to drop- and the weather this year has been crazy!! Summer gardening is the hardest for me bc of that reason but glad you will be growing along with me in the Fall- keep me posted!! and thank for watching!!

    Love watching your channel. I harvested tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, and a small batch of yellow squash and zucchini. Unfortunately, the squash bugs and spider mites were in full force this year and damaged many of my squash plants. My okra and pole beans are coming in now.
