Lucas made her feel so safe and loved in that moment when he said, “Peyton Scott” and that really was the first moment she was truly happy! Just a shame that happiness of course was squashed! He legit let her come between Brooke and him. I never understood why Brooke took so much shit from him.
The only reason he looked happier and took more risks with Brooke was because their relationship was purely based on fun and lust. There was no deep connection. Lucas’ explanation in season 1 for why he initially chose Brooke is extremely telling.
