- I can't promise these tips will make you the next Odd1sOut or something, but I can at least say that they'll hopefully allow you to experience the self-sabotage and pitfalls I setup for myself on my first run through UA-cam.
All youtubers who made a minor cameo in this are:
@KCyippee (I WIN)
@ThatGuyJohn05
@VoltComet
@LilImpAnimations
@JAnimationz
@shortcxke
@Zykus.
Love how you described everything in this: short and easy to understand. I do feel you probably should've mentioned how (,in addition to your section about how people want to come to a channel because of what you post,) my theory is that you should probably pick a subject to focus the channel on that's big.
I don't want to use storytime for an example but I really wanted to mention Lodaluk (and how he got so big so fast). So, using Lodaluk as the example, he chose to do storytime animation. This is an overused this proven to work by many people. How did he get so big if many other people try to that as well, but fail? Well, what he did was be more original. The artstyle, no one has ever really done that before. The videos, he makes them funnier using his personality (also making him feel more 'real' compared to other storytime creators).
I also forgot to mention that you need to keep the audience stimulated, everything moves. The moment they look away from the screen, you know you did something wrong. NEVER KEEP THINGS STILL!!!
So what I'm really trying to say is, use a format/structure that is proven to work. Then, put more original factors that make you stand out. THAT is what really gets a channel somewhere.
geez this is more of a rant than a comment being like "yeah I agree with you!!!" LOL
Brilliantly put. Almost kinda jealous I didn’t come up with it myself.
There's a reason why MrBeast and those who follow his footsteps succeed. In order to get views, you have to give the audience what they want to see. In order to be heard, you have to give the audience what they want to hear. There's no reason to try posting a video that you know won't get any attention, unless you hate yourself.
The meta has changed now. Most people consume content from the Recommended page. So the strategy should be to release one-off banger after one-off banger. If it's episodic, don't explicitly say that the later parts are "episode 2" or "part 3" or whatever. This is why most let's players fail because there's no reason for a new viewer to watch a 'part 5' of a Let's Play series. Therefore, most of their audience watch their episode 1, but for each episode, the view count decreases.
Focus on trying to "blow up". Because the nunber of subscribers you have is worthless, nobody watches videos on their Subscription page anymore. So you gotta constantly get views from new viewers and returning viewers should go "oh yeah, I know this person".
youtube is hard man, its a huge commitment and you really gotta get lucky with a channel, especially animation
this video is AMAZING nice work :)
(the part with the clips from the different channels was sick ngl)
Thank you! That means a lot. I actually had to personally animate those ‘clips from other channels’ myself, replicated art styles and all, so I’m glad to hear it paid off :3
Found you on my homepage, looks like the algorithm is working out for ya!! Gotta say this was a great vid, looking forward 2 more in the future :D
Yeah same XD
Same here
Thank you for the advice. As someone who is working on making animation videos for UA-cam, I want to take many notes and steps when starting a UA-cam channel.
I love this video, yeah UA-cam in itself is extremely hard, let alone ANIMATION that's also really hard lol. For me my main problem is sticking to one topic lol. But keep going your video is awesome! Keep improving and making more amazing videos. Good job !
2:47 Hey that’s me
It sure is buddy
ngl the most hardest part on youtube nowadays is motivation. idk probably just me
No you’re not wrong. UA-cam can be extremely demotivating at times. Which is just an unfortunate truth.
I really super duper enjoyed this vid about youtube. As an aspiring youtuber myself, this was something that helped so thanks

Your videos have gotten really good! and I'm not saying that as a viewer i'm saying that as your friend. you went from:
Late 2023: OH GOD NO!!
Early 2024: eh.. its better..
Late 2024: Dang, he got good!
This was fun to watch you make.. did that sound wrong? but yeah. ....BTW to the random people reading this i made the
"I WeNt To l.A." Thumbnail, and yes I made it bad on purpose
Yet another banger out, good job moonie

Making sure you enjoy the content you create is actually a great tip I should’ve mentioned that. There’s no point in doing something if you don’t like it.
So cool, cool channel, cool sub

Hi!

If this motivates you, i have 960 subs (just a bit more than you), but i started making videos in 2018 and my account was created in 2015 so we are stuck in the same hole here.
