It’s for high res vid editing and 3D rendering (not pro level), makes sense. Should’ve also given a 4070/3070 as well
I bought the Zenbook 14X after much deliberation and cross shopping as a work and Lightroom on the go machine.
When on battery it’s quick but not as quick as you’d think in Lightroom when handling raw photos from a D850. It’s what I’d call adequate performance on battery. On wall power it’s a beast - the i9 13900H performs like a 13600K with half the power, it never gets loud or hot either.
The killer feature is the screen. It really is next level for editing (120hz 3000x2000 OLED).
How? What Cinebench score do you get? As well as passmark CPU?
My ZenBook pro 14 OLED is limited to PL1 35w PL2 65w. I'm very disappointed and mad
What about battery life for the both of them?
I get 15-16K on CBR R23 when plugged in and 9000 when on battery. Needs to be set to performance mode to get that score.

I just picked up the 14x with 13700h and Evo platform for $800. Came with 1tb nvme drive...im totally blown away with how awesome it is.

In Sweden you can get one 14x with a 13700h/rtx3050 for 2200(crazy)dollars. All laptops are much more expensive here in the Scandinavian/Nordic region. I just ordered a Lenovo Slim 7 pro with same specification (no oled) for 1300 dollars, of course much better deal. It was 20% sale during the weekend. I would like to have to rtx4050 but for my basic video editing with a 6gb 3050 plus a 13700h it will probably be more than enough for good export/rendering times.
This configuration is great for photogrammetry due to its CPU, the RTX 3050 is pretty fast for its cost, but the 4 gb VRAM will let you down if you try anything related to render or Unreal Engine.
The CPU is limited to 65w on my ZenBook pro 14 2023. cTDP up at 65w, 35w down.
None of the reviews have this phenomenon, and on top of it the CPU paste is garbage and the wattage drops immediately down to just above 50w.
What should I do?

I absolutely loathe that so many laptop makers are doing half-and-half soldered/SODIMM RAM configs. I know RAM is one of those "it goes bad immediately or it's good for years" things, but if the soldered RAM fails out of warranty, your only recourse is sending it somewhere that can do a complete teardown and resoldering of new chips. They still make the "stacked" SODIMM slots.
yeah at this point its a deal breaker for most of us who wish to keep our devices and want to improve the ram space
I ended up getting a zenbook 16gb model (without the 3050) for $96. I can attest this is a great laptop for a creative person

Good video, thanks. :) I find it strange that the 14x pairs an i9 with such a low-end graphics card. Just as strange as putting an i9 in a 14 inch lsptop with one cooling fan & minimum heat pipes. What a bizarre confuguration. In NZ we can only get the 14x with an i9.

If I get the 16GB version, can I then install 16GB in the free slot? The reason I'm asking is that it comes across that you can only install a 32GB module. I know it sounds weird, but that's how I understood it. Thanks again!
16gb soldered, 1 free slot with up to 32gb capability, so 48gb in total (32gb run dual channel, 16gb in single channel) (dual channel in ddr5 ram = quadchannel ddr4)

Bought the 13700H model (i7) for $753 with taxes in sales. Super great laptop. use it for light coding and office work. Great for personal use too.
Also use a Macbook Air M1. Love that too.

What do you think of the Vivobook pro 16x (K6604) this year? it's priced at $1999. and has amazing specs for that price. Including an i9 HX with 4070. I would love to see your opinion on it. And a proper thermal throttle check . I am worried about that i9 heating up.
There's a review of the Vivobook 16x with a 13980x and 4070 from trusted reviews. It said performance and cooling were really nice but battery life was lacking. Sadly, there's not many other reviews on it out there.
@@yensteel oh there are many written reviews. There's one from notebook reviews. It's very detailed. But I wanted to see someone cover the laptop in a video as well. And commenting on heating, text fringing due to OLED screen. Cause apparently the touch OLED screen on proart doesn't produce clear texts like an lcd

With upgradable RAM this would be the GOAT. Going for $1200 on sale here (16Gb/3050) but all that power without 32 Gb? Hard choice

How can that cooler handle 13900h + RTX 3050? My vivobook s 14 2022 has 12700h without dGpu and its very similar cooler is not able to handle heat without major throttling.

I have the Zebbook Pro 14 OLED and its the most powerful 14inch windows laptop. The only thing i had to change was to Liquid Metal the CPU and now i get high 14000's multi and 2900single on Geekbench6.2. 35200 on passmark CPU. Pl1 115w, Pl2 170w, 3.5s Pl2.

my laptop has aryzen 7840hs and rtx 3050 and it was 800 dollars usd, ask yourself if it’s really worth spending 1000 extra dollars to get a laptop which will throttle significantly or spend an extra 500 to build your own pc which will perform way better and can be upgraded over time

there is a "slight misconception" the price 1499 you announce is only for configurations with integrated graphics and if you want the 3050 in non pro one - you'll have to pay 2 grans.

How can we trust ASUS as a brand after the ordeal you went through with the Proart BIOS botched update?
As a personal anecdote, I recently bought a zenbook pro 14 oled (4060 though) and heat doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue, especially on battery. It gets warm of course but it has never been uncomfortable for me. The fans rarely need to turn on for me.
That said the battery life isn’t great (4-5 hours watching videos) if the brightness is too high, though I’m sure if I were to mess around with disabling cores and undervolting I could raise that quite a bit, and that would drop temps further. However that isn’t as easy as on some of Asus’s gaming laptops where that can be easily done in armory crate.

Problem in 3050... wasted money for last gen GPU... If 4050 you can get AV1 encoding which much better for content creator and 50% better vram...

Right, Vivobook S14 k3402za from last year shows "test mode" in bios and it got no bios update to resolved this in a year.

These companies know what we want with screens, they know there's a market who wants smaller high resolution monitors: 24" 3840x2160 (183.58 ppi) OLEDs would be absolutely god tier . . . Yet the best they want to give us is 27" 1440-240, (108.79 ppi)
If they can make 14" 90 Hz 2560 x 1600 (215.63ppi) OLEDs, they can make 24", 3840x2160, 183.58, 90-120 Hz OLEDs
Instead the best we can get? 48" (91.79 ppi) yeah, wonder why there's text clarity issues ☕😑🚬

Not so much appealing for creators.
Only 16GB ram on Zenbook 14x that can be ok for personal use but not when u work professionally, and on PRO version maximum can be 48GB with additional investments.
Battery life doesn't shine, so not much work can be done without a charger.
In this price range, there other laptops that offer more for less.

It is 32GB and it is maximum for 14x version. So one can do large photo editing with this setup at home.
But the pro version is maxed at 48GB, will it be enough for heavy video editing?
@@theTechNotice my ZenBook pro 14 OLED has 35w PL1 and 65w PL2 limit. It means it pulls only 50-60w on CPU and the Cinebench score is 13500-14000.
I'm extremely disappointed and mad. I don't know why mine has such limits🙁😡.
