It's people like you that made me decide to get my own UA-cam channel because I tried of you people putting out videos to just get info of people for you can scam off people. The person that has that security system dose not put in online so you will never be able to connect to it to steal is info and you don't what to miss with them kind of people you may get hurt.
Hello Cindy, I am not understanding what hurting you in this video? I am trying to help people how spent there time in technical support team and get nothing after long coversations. I myself faced this situation many times, if you have any problem with that i can not do anything in this matter. anyways thanks for sharing to opinion (Some comments are good some are bad, you may handle all them .... its my rule.)
There are websites that will do this now (though they'll get your IP and can then give themselves access to your system, so if you do this with a website, make sure to use a VPN). And the links to download the software are dead. Great information for these older Annke & Hikvision systems though. The remedy is to set your router/gateway firewall, but that's highly technical and dependent on your gateway... but it can be done.

I'm not a computer expert mainly because I have epilepsy and other reasons but I've just opened my annke DVR connected it to my TV but I'd wanted to set it up so I can view it when I'm not home bit thanks to your video (I won't do it) " but is the system secure just at home on our home Wi-Fi? the annke instructions is asking for my password! My problem is were the hell do I find this password I've googled it but always got the ( if you forget your password)so is it the private one I made up or is it the long numbers above the barcode under my router or the password of my router? Any help would solve things if I can find it as I've noticed I've only got 4 attempts left before I put a hammer through the lot as it's p*ssing me off.

they need to access your DVR physically to reset the password. remotely it will not work.

Thanks for comment, You may need to follow below points and forget about safety of your DVR.
Point 1. Please Replace your Current DVR Password with strong Password.
Point 2. If you want to access your DVR from remote location always use P2P online option which is builtin in DVR. it will prevent hackers to hack your DVR remotely. Never do port forwarding to watch live DVR over internet with static IP address in your internet router. this will generate a hidden way for hackers to reach to your DVR with that static IP address. A random Public IP series can show your DVR on Internet and hackers can attempt to hack your DVR .
Point 3. Check Annke Website for latest firmware and update your DVR.

Let me clear some points, Hikvision has change their security algorithm in new firmwares, so I need to know the DVR Model Number and Serial number, firmware version to check ether old secure code will work or you may need to ask hikvision support team for Password reset XML file.

Follow the Process
Connect DVR to your LAN.
Download Putty from internet.
Login into DVR in TELNET with Putty.
Try Username: root , Password: xc3511
if you get success then reply back.

Lies.. He's trying to get you to download software that they can steal stuff off your computer. The reality is that if this were true, then this would be ran from a website and not having to download anything. Also, your providing all serial numbers to someone that can now register them as his own. Think about what your doing people.
