Lexi is literally perfect for this sub.
Yes he is for tech stuff and these kind of threads.
Aw thanks

@@extantfellow46 I was more referring to Lexi trying to Boymode. Lexi, never be someone you're not. Because nobody does you better than you.
And if someone is doing you better than you then I have *several* questions.
It's always nice seeing Lexi explaining the technical side of some of the bizarre tech in this subreddit.

As an IT call center worker, Lexi is very relatable. Trying to verbally explain to an end user that their computer is working, just that the monitor is off is but one of many frustrations lol
Flashbacks to explaining to my mom that Facebook itself is down, there's nothing wrong with her computer and nothing I can do to fix it.
(I went with the TV station analogy - the TV is working but the station itself isn't.)
I have to explain that to the people all my school all the time, like i know they know nothing about computers but its the simplest thing on earth
So you have to worry about pebcac
For the one at 4:39, one explanation I can think of is that maybe there was a plan to put some kind of beam or fixture in that spot, so those little boxes were left there intentionally to make sure the person responsible for putting the conduit down would know to run it clear of that spot so it wouldn't be in the way.
Ahhh, that’s a good idea. Smart thinking.
RIP Crooked Neck Nick.
Hi lexi!!!
4:42 is an easy one. The person or company responsible for the pipes had previously either been accused or actually touched something belonging to the contractor whose boxes those are (or it was between 2 people in the same company).... point being the person laying the pipe was under strict order to not touch those boxes for whatever reason, and this is just malicious compliance. "I was told to not touch the boxes, so I went around them"
It might've just been that the company responsible for the pipes was told to lay the pipes that way for some reason and the boxes were placed there by OP afterwards.
As a Popeyes worker who had rude customers who say “16 all white meat give me as many breasts as you can”, yeah sometimes we’ll follow rules out of spite.
For my example, they always want half breasts (8) but a 16 piece can have at max 4 breasts
Why is Lexi so smart about so many random things? I feel like I need to step it up a little
She is the 1 person who remembers what she learned in school.
Some savoury sass with the tech lass, heck yes. Hope you're having a lovely day, Lexi! Same goes for all you folks reading this c:
Was the thing you vored savoury as well
Ok, I can give an explanation for the painted over gum, penny, cockroach and occasional puzzle piece in landlord specials. Low-cost commercial painters use paint sprayers instead of rollers and aren't paid enough to care about details like removing small debris.
Sometimes it is a landlord/house flipper/ apartment maintenance etc with a roller that just doesn't care. I've seen this happen all my life, all kinds of debris in the paint and a really sloppy job. Now as an adult one of my biggest pet peeves in a house is sloppy paint. Especially paint on door hinges. Lol

25:09 that's called a core sample, and long story short they cut into the ground looking for minerals, like gold, or for substrate testing. As an Environmental Technician this happens a lot more often than it should; especially in Northern Ontario😅
Yall, Im glad that lexi can just name a random pipes in the ground and shes like yesss this 9.560 inch water pipe made by the triple one concrete mixure and its set off by an angle of 1 and 1/2 degrees violation 3 city ordinance rules and a fire safety rule established in 1959 by mr. Lexi's knowledge and ability to add context to some of these makes this sub 10x more enjoyable. And i learn a thing or two while looking at memes!
If you have a handgun that can shoot 357mm rounds, and you shoot it, i'm pretty sure you just die from the recoil.
I mean that's 1 mm bigger that the main guns on the USS Texas (BB-35). So I guess you should expect some recoil.
If you can lift that cannon with one hand to call it a handgun, you're probably fine.
@@renakunisaki I mean there are guys who can dead lift over 700 pounds, that doesn't mean they can use that weight to hit you with, just because someone could pick up the gun in the first place doesn't mean they could also handle the recoil of it firing on top of that.
@@gentleman_oni That's approaching the size of Richelieu and Bismarck (380 mm)
The shells alone are 1,500 Lbs (680 Kg) for AP and the cannons need 4 additional 105 Lbs (48 Kg) sacks of explosive powder. Also, the cannons are like 124,000 Lbs (56,000 Kg). So yeah, you have to be able to lift 125,920 Lbs (56,872 Kg) or be able to lift 700 Earth Lbs (320 Earth Kg), and go to a planet with 0.005559g (0.05451m/s^2) of gravity
For the post in the road, you'll often see this at new neighborhood construction. It'll sit there temporarily until the power company can come out and put in something more permanent that's not in the road.
17:47 - If your handgun fires 14-inch ammunition, you might be a shipgirl!
19:22 - This is an "eats, shoots, and leaves" situation. There should be a comma after "Jesus Loves".
I'm dying! The whiplash from seeing Havre anywhere lmao. It was the talk of the town when walmart repaved their parking lot, not because of the misspelling, but because it was exciting to have a pothole-free zone.

6:24 So, funny story. I had gotten a pizza from Domino's once (yes, I know, already this is off to a good start XD), and I make a habit of checking the food that I ordered (burned one too many times - figuratively, not literally - on people getting my order wrong, I cast no blame on anyone: when you're busy or having a bad day, shit happens, I get it, it's fine, I don't make a scene, that's just silly), so I open the box and...I...don't even know how to describe what I witnessed. One slice was, like, literally just a paper-thin line, one ginormous slice akin to NY-style pizza, and, just...there was not ONE even slice. I ask politely if I could get another made because this one looked weird and the guy behind the counter says "Yeah, that happens sometimes." I couldn't hide the amusement on my face as I turn the box to him and say nothing. The look on his face was well worth it. The dude was mortified, but it quickly turned to amusement as he died laughing and asked, "Wha-...dude...how!? Who-...? I'm so sorry about that, we'll make you another one and you can keep that one for free." I was thankful, of course, because...I mean...free pizza. But he asked me if he could show it to everyone else in the shop first, and I was like "Nah, man, go right ahead." It was REALLY funny; everyone had a good laugh. I can only hope the person who made it had a good laugh, too, 'cause...I mean...you GOTTA laugh at the absurdity of the situation. It's too good not to share. Heck, had I known who it was, I'd have shared it with 'em, let 'em have the biggest slice while I get the tiniest slice. But yeah...sometimes shit happens and you just have no excuse, I get it. ;)

Regarding the translation into different languages. I was dealing with a packaging change on a product family sold in the EU. Every freaking EU language needs to be on there. So I was checking the proof to make sure there was no "Insert Estonian here". The device came in two separate shapes, square and oval. I notices that some nitwit had left the English label intact and copy/pasted the "oval" translations onto the square package. I'm already annoyed because I'm supposed to get this to printing tomorrow so I really scrutinize the actual translations (thanks Google translate!) and I noticed one issue before I even pasted it in. For the Greek translation, they simply transliterated "oval" into the Greek alphabet and not the actual Greek word. So this was a "not my job" inside of another "not my job." Classy.
0:15 the problem with that explanation is that it looks like they DID cut the guard-rail to get the paving done. Note the exposed sharp edge on the left-hand side.
14:15 unironically my post covid reduced work duties since I refuse to work while customers are in the restaurant.
20:16 almost looks like a modal filter. Not sure the gap is wide enough for a lawnmower though. And a gate would be more appropriate.
I love Lexi's reaction to this kind of stuff
5:29 that’s a cable…
You worked in IT! You should know what a cable looks like!
(I know you’re legally blind, please don’t chase me with your hammer)
8:09 I know Mr Dude, he lives in a trailer in Paradise, Arizona. I'm sure he won't decapitate you with a shovel if you ask for your package back.
25:09 for anyone that is wondering what that is, it is a process where they cut a cylinder of the earth to look at the rock layers and some underground wires were directly underneath
4:32 Seeing how perfectly intact the ashpalt is all the way to the poll, and how new the road looks, I would actually dare to guess that the poll was first and the road was made after.
Still a 'not my job' though, since then it's the numnuts making the road.
At 25:08, that is a core sample, those cables were buried deep underground, and the core sample cut them

1:48 I'm pretty sure that there is a picture of the other side of the wall somewhere. Yes, it has the other part of the TV.
Lexii you are my favorite narrator and at 16:50 is my favorite part of this video a 357mm handgun would be awesome but the cannon shown at 17:07 is not 357mm but the 800mm Gustav Gun, hope you have a wonderful day.
That's only a factor of ~2 off, it's closer to the pictured cannon than to a handgun!
I COULD NOT pay my last landlord in pennies. I couldn't pay in cash at all, it wasn't considered legal payment. It had to be cash, debit, credit, money order, or certified check.
That doesn't sound legal in the USA and Canada, but I don't know whether you are.
However, I've also heard there's a law against paying with more than a certain number of coins?
@@renakunisaki I don't have any idea if it's legal, but if it's not, no one is going to do anything about it. Another rental company violated housing laws for years before getting fined. No one can afford a legal battle against big corporations.
It looks like the middle segment of the guard rail was installed after the completion of the bike path. The end point of the guard rail was probably deemed as unsafe as a car hitting the open edge could be very dangerous and they were forced to put in that middle segment as a stop-gap solution

2:36 Yes, Havre (pronounced like the word "have" with an r on the end), Montana is real lol. The only reason I know about it is because it's the division point between BNSF's Hi Line and Milk River Subdivisions.

17:50 That is about 1 millimetre larger than a 14 inch naval gun. Which is a BIG naval gun too.
So for the guy standing behind the poll at the game - they built those to support the upper stands, which were added after the original stadium was built. They don’t actually sell tickets for any seat directly behind the structure, but people like to joke.
2:48 "Hello everyone, and welcome to Hell, Michigan."
1:12 No those are watermelons. They just got done with a long bleach bath. That’s why they’re blonde and wrinkly.
11:24 reminds me of a road I used to drive all the time in Massachusetts and it was pretty much like this the whole road, I always used to joke about it saying if it killed my car because of how rough the paving was I’d make a song out of it. I never got a picture and the next time I got the chance to drive it THEN they decided to pave it properly lol, it was a road that transitioned into Turnpike road and there were some big spots just patchwork the whole way down

6:20 it's in "not my job" because the one guy that had to put on the billboard and glue it clearly saw it would look like garbage bending like that, he could've not put it and report back to his boss but went "heh, not my job, I'm here to put the billboard, not to be a graphic designer", and put it up anyway
