I watched a LOT of Blue’s Clues with my toddler back then. What always struck me about Steve were (are) his eyes. He looked at the camera with such sincerity that, coupled with his calming voice, drew you into the show.
I'm trying to let my baby cousin watch Blues clues.
Wish the best for your kid ❤❤
His voice is EVERYTHING
ikr it's so comforting
I love how he addresses everyone by their name and asks them how they're doing before every question. He's still making everyone seen... gaaahhh
Got to meet Steve at Denver Fan Expo this year. He's such a great guy. Never would have thought that after all these years, he'd still be teaching me stuff.
I was born in July 1994 so literally I’ve been w/ Blues Clues since the beginning. I had every Blues Clues memorabilia (striped shirt, Magenta costume for Halloween, and every VHS tape and stuffed animal, even the notebook) known to man
14:45 It’s so wild how much Steve and Blue’s Clues actually influenced my parenting, and for the better. ❤️
I’m sorry but the way that guy flipped the question to avoid talking about why Steve dislikes Blippi is really funny.
Steve. Levar. Mister Rogers.🐾📚🚃
The real Golden Trio.
I think the basis for all of this is: If you don’t buy into what you’re doing, your audience never will. Steve bought every single second of time he spent with us and Blue, so we did too. That’s beautiful ❤️
He never actually believed it though. I would rather have someone, who actually is positive and loving in that way. Rather than somebody who's just trying to complete tasks every day so he can go home. 😒
OMG he's out there appearing at cons! What a legend.
Steve: "Just when I thought I was out, Nickelodeon pulls me back in!"
believe it or not Steve's audition is floating around somewhere on youtube i remember seeing it, here's hoping it's still there
I watched blues clues with my nephews...and I still cried when Steve came back...
Steve is my childhood hero!
I freaking love this guy
Your video helped me
It’s like what Steve always says
We can do anything that we want to do
Even if it means growing up to be a pizza 😂😂😂😂😂

I was born in the 90s. I like blues clues when i was a child it was a great show. Steve had to leave the show for two reasons one because he was balding and two he wanted to do rock music🎵🎶 he wanted to make a band for his music
I love him. He’s so Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Steve is like a real fellow to many of us and I care about him
Your talk got me through two pregnancies
I posted a video where I met Steve burns bc u inspired me!🖤
Anyone know if he'll make music again? The newton creek song is in my top 5 of all time list. I love his music and it's a shame if he's given up on it.

Ya know, watching this video I got a sense of how much Steve doesn't actually care about Blue's clues. He even said that he didn't actually know that he was auditioning for the show. You wanted to do something else entirely. That's really sad to me. To know that the guy who many of us older people grew up watching never really cared about Blue's clues.💔😢
I think if he didn't care, he wouldn't be working on the new show, and he wouldn't have read the study that informed Blue's Clues. When he originally auditioned he just didn't know what the show was for (which happens a lot from what I hear, at least in the sense that people might have only a very little amount of info about a show before they get called back/cast/etc.), but that doesn't mean he doesn't care.
When I've heard him talk, I get the sense he's had moments in time it took him a second to realize how big the show was, he felt pressure to be a role model he was worried he couldn't be, and it's something he's ultimately happy is/was part of his life, even though there were times he absolutely needed the space from it.
@@citrusella-nomorecraptions the point is he never wanted to do Blue's clues in the first place. He said it sounded to him like something different that he wanted to do, it turned out to be Blue's clues. So right from the very start he didn't want to do Blue's clues he just thought it would be a different job which was more of what he wanted to do it turned out not to be that job, but by that time he was already stuck with doing Blue's clues. 🤦
@@josephnicholas9152 I feel like you're synthesizing what you think he feels from something he said that doesn't necessarily imply it so you've created this narrative for yourself that he doesn't care, when that characterization doesn't make sense given the amount of contact he's maintained with the show when he could easily have washed his hands of it and stuck with other work he's had after he left in 2002 or so (when he was in the midst of losing his hair and had undiagnosed depression).
I've seen different panels and Q&A with Steve Burns where he gets asked these questions and answers about the same way, and it seems more like he regards it as an accident he ended up sticking with even though he *could* have decided not to (for instance--it would have been obvious in the original audition from the way he describes it that was an on-camera children's show host, and all he would have had to do is audition badly or even leave if he didn't want to do it; they weren't holding him at gunpoint and forcing him to do a non-phoned-in audition), rather than the way you're characterizing it, like you think he thinks it was a mistake he couldn't escape from at any point.
Like, I guess I'm saying you're extrapolating "probably wouldn't have gone to the audition if he'd realized what it was for" and deciding it means "hates the show and only wants money" when there's no evidence to support that. 🤷🏽♀
@@citrusella-nomorecraptions he already said that he would have never done the audition if he had known that it was for a little kids show. So that right there tells you he never wanted to do it in the first place. Since he'd already gained certain friendships with co-workers throughout the years of the show he decided to stick with some work surrounding the show. But in his heart he never really wanted to do that show.
@@josephnicholas9152 I think he cared and he obviously took it seriously and cared because he was wonderful and he’s talking to fans who loved him. Steve is a humble and introverted man, so he won’t brag, but more so tell the truth of his most sincere feelings. So I think he truly cared. He just probably isn’t gushing because of who he is.
