For this project I used reclaimed walnut wood. The mask is finished with black walnut wood stain.

I dont know if you seen the Marvel movie Black Panther, but there are some fantastic masks in it. A panther, a white ape, etc. Itd be awesome if you recreated one of those. Each leader wears the mask of the animal their tribe represents for fighting.

Something I've noticed on a couple of your masks is they tend to be a little bit lower relief than the original. I know it's more expensive and takes more time, but I'd recommend starting with a block a fair bit thicker than what you think you'll need. Keep up the good work!

Way better without the music. Sometimes change isn’t always good, but all in all still an amazing piece.
This was great, much better than the previous edit. You should also maybe try a time lapse video with no music, or have a part like that in this kind of video.

How does your pen pass through the paper to make perfect lines on the wood? im making my first wood mask today, finally got the tools to do it and I cant understand how to translate the image well from paper to wood

It’s amazing how hearing the sound actually gives you a better feel of how it felt to carve. In the other video it looked like it chiselled like frozen butter, but hearing the sound gives a sense of the density and feel of the wood somehow. Amazing work! (Here from Reddit).
