    I used to have a 2022 GTS standard range for 6 months which I had to sell because of going overseas. Didn't have any problems with the batteries. True, it loses up to 2% of its charge per day when parked with the batteries in the scooter which will be way less with them removed from the scooter. Latter is adviced in the manual if not in use for a longer period. But this is used for maintaining the GPS and the ECU battery. ECU battery is just a very small rechargeable battery which can stand a lot. My bike was produced late 2021 and only started being used some 6 months later with a completely empty ECU battery. After being charged by the main batteries it worked perfectly fine. Thing is though you have to keep at least some charge in the main batteries because when they're at zero they die beyond repair. When not using the scooter for several months it might be necessary to charge them occasionally, via a smart plug when you're not around. When you're doing a lot of full throttle it might be better to choose the extended range 35Ah version.

      Keep the batteries at 50% if not using the bike. That’s the advice. I keep my bike indoors, no GPS, so last winter I decided to disconnect the battery and the ECU went to 1% charged back up when I wanted to use the bike but the ECU never ever found the GPS signal again and it had to be replaced under warranty. Now I just charge up to around 60% and never let it drop below 30%

    My 2021 Lifan E3 electric scooter only cost me €2,600 and never missed a beat. 4,400 km up on it now. Also its has way more storage under he seat and comes with a back box as standard. It only has one battery. Top speed is only 50km/hr but that's OK as I only ever use it around the town and that is the speed limit around there anyway.

    I used amalgamated tape on the HV cable from the under the foot plate. Still gives it flexibility but also protects from cutting/abrasive

    Question: is it possible to disconnect the batteries by leaving them in the scooter? I think there are no space problems for the one under the seat, but what about the one in the front?

    I regret reading some comments of dissapointment. I've got my Niu NQI gts sport (14"wheels- Niu batteries/standard range) for 2,5 years now, 10.000 km. It has never ever let me down, after using it extensively in all conditions. Never serviced it, nothing. The thing just goes on and on...smooth ride, never used the app. Interesting to know they returned to the Panasonic batteries for the long range version. Could be the better option...😉

    Not sure what type of batteries are used, but some battery chemistries don't like sitting for days on end at full charge - it reduces the overall life. My DJI drone automatically discharges it's batteries after 3 days if they are full. It's a built-in feature. I also store my model aircraft LiPo batteries at around 20% charge.

    Thanks for awesome review! I have the Niu NGT 2020 version. It has 12949 km on the meter, I've been using it heavily! Mine has the original Panasonic batteries that NIU used to provide. 60V 35AH x2. And the charger came with the splitter to be able to charge both batteries at once. I live in Sweden, we have 230V power, but it takes about 5h to charge from empty to full. I feel NIU got cheap lately, they stopped using high quality Panasonic batteries and went for EVE instead. And stopped providing accessories. I'm gonna keep my NGT for long and see how much it can do! Hopefully NIU gets back on track.

    • @electrifyjapan5554
      @electrifyjapan5554  Рік тому +1

      As I mentioned, they did go back to Panasonic batteries since they are much better. More range and probably more stable. The cheaper Chinese ones really dont work for a bike like this.

      Also, these appear to be 2020 Panasonic batteries, not the newer 2023 batteries.

    I have M + sport. Biggest trouble is winter driving. It`s impossible on ice, due its 110 Nm torq. It have two speed setting, but lower is too weak to keep on while driving. Its rims are too expensive for studded tires. Its range is up to 70 kilometers with lower speed.

    quick question. If you detach the battery when you keep the bike in storage or garage, then the battery will not drain over time right ?

    • @electrifyjapan5554
      @electrifyjapan5554  2 роки тому +3

      The main battery will no longer drain, but the ECU battery will drain and die, which means you won't be able to access the bike remotely. I think that (12volt) battery is also lithium ion, so probably best not to let it drain to zero. Whenever I've removed the main batteries to charge them indoors, the 12v tends to drain pretty fast for some reason.
