Tamworth was just a little bit overloaded. Glad she didn't catch a prop wash. I guess they were being very historical and not following the rules of high and low water marks on the bow.
Not sure which one your referring to, but the side cloths add extra side to the boat. You do have to be a little more careful especially at locks, but this is inland waterways where if the boat sinks it wont go far down - these boats are nearly on the bottom already!
what you see in the uk isn't our sewage system (i actually laughred out loud when i read that) its a system of canals designed to carry freight built before there were engines, horses where used to pull the boats along, thats why theres always a towpath by the canal. If you emptied your septic tank from your canal boat toilet into the canal you would be arrested. Our sewage travels underground and has done for a very long time.See canaljunction.com
A glorious sight and sound sadly missing this year and a poorer year it will be . Roll on 2021.

Nicely done, Mike! There were quite a few well loaded boats, it seems.
No-one was ever going to run out of coal or wood on that day!
Nice clip of Loz squeezing through the boats Michael.
Will you look at all them gongoozlers
The sound of Merino sheep as Australia passes by at the finish 😀
I don't think I heard a single round of applause from the spectators when these pros showed their boating skills.
Well that's a gorgeous sight, but as a Noobie boater I think I'll be avoiding navigating Braunston unless it's off season!
ARCAAN RITUAL på
What RPM do those engines idle at? I'm guessing it's in the low hundreds.

Sewer boating sick close the sewers in
+brianbirc what?
+noodlesmason In the US our septic system runs under ground to treatment plants. Time to modernise that turd river. It is pure brown. Water is clear

+noodlesmason Looks like rudeness. Does it smell ?
It's just mud and silt and it doesn't smell much!
Am I watching narrowboat snobbery?
I think there is an element of that...
beautifull sound of the engines
