No matter what make of car you're loyal to, this is the reason why we have that ( special ) one. It may not be the one we had back then or it may be a replica, but the memory and feelings you get from it are what its all about. RIP
For car people they are a connection to the past. Very profound! RIP Mr. Gay. I had a 72 Roadrunner also Tor red, black strobe stripe, 340 with a 727. White interior and a bench seat. Great cruiser, you could fit 6 in it comfortably, 8 in a pinch. Also could fit 4 in the trunk for sneaking in to the drive in if you took the spare out and stack them like cord wood haha. I used to tool around with my girlfriend right next to me. No one used seat belts, those were those things you tucked down in the seat never to be seen again lol. It was a great riding car and the seats were plush in a way you just don't see in modern cars.
The ending was beautiful, mark. Cars are much more then a possession, they are a part of our life, a family member. Thank you for putting memories back on the road Ice Trey
I had a 70 Charger R/T 440 six pack in 1972. I eventually sold the car, but to this day, I still have dreams that I find the car and buy it back. It had that big of an impact. This was the best and one of the most meaningful episodes.
Mark, you nailed this down - what it is that a rolling, noisy piece of internal combustion-powered machinery from a bygone era means to some of us. Guys like me, who maybe went off to war, survived (with a few missing parts), and used our saved pay to purchase a car, a 1968 Charger R/T in my case, in part to memorialize my survival, and being home again. The feelings that that car's interior absorbed over our time together - happiness, joy, exhilaration (what else you gonna feel with a 440 Magnum?) went with the car, wherever it ended up - being an Oregon car, maybe even there at Graveyard Cars. So yeah, that entire episode, sad and happy, covered it nicely. And what a beauty, that '71 Roadrunner. It's a legacy car, to Mr. Gay, and probably his family. Well done. Now, where is my old '68 R/T, do ya' s'pose??😉
Wow...wow... what a beautiful restoration on a very nice car...and it really touched my heart..you are so right about these cars and the memories behind them being part of someone's life
The car turned out beautiful. The story and it getting home before it was planned was indeed, IMO, divine intervention. The back story on any car that beings one back to yesteryear and good times..that is why the cars mean so much to all who have them. Mark goofs around and stuff but at the end of the day I truly think it is about getting the cars back to as new condition and taking the owner to that happy place. That is priceless. A class act and a heart of gold. Very well done one and all.
Mark, as a dedicated and long-time viewer, I loved everyone one of your fender tag reader ideas. They were outstanding. I only wish the people that surrounded you didn't stifle your creative side. You are a marketing genius.
To the crew of Gyc the 71 road runner brought back so many memories had one also luved it I'm sure he was glad to see his car and drove all the way to heaven a great last ride keep up the great work you and your dream making crew
100%. 71 B bodys drive fantastic. There was a curve near our rural homestead. Dad used to brag how fast he had been around it in a friends Pantera. It was probably more youth than talent but I eclipsed the Panteras record by about 12mph.
If not people like u their be no America and the people u being back memories that alone be proud of Americans history we need people like u for hope in this very hard times
My absolute favorite car ever, I had a 73 with a 4 barrel 340 automatic and loved it. I believe that the hospital he was in is Dartmouth Hitchcock medical center in New Hampshire and hope this car is well taken care of!
I really think it was the decals! That made the people go crazy over them! Cause that what grabs me! The man was right! The black over red is? Gorgeous Seats! I always loved that 71 model, ROAD RUNNER
I have a similar story I still have my dad‘s 68 Gto that he bought brand new I bought it from him my junior year of high school and still have it to this day but it’s in pretty sad shape and so am I I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at age 44 I’m 55 now and getting it restored is not looking very doable. He has always hated the fact that I painted it from the original green to red and I would love nothing more than to put it back all original and give it back to him before I can no longer drive he’s still in great health.
Interesting set of coincidences. I'm 76 and owned 3 Chrysler products; 57 Desoto Firedome, a 60 Dodge Polara convertible and a 80's Dodge. The 60 Polara had a 383 dual AFB 4 barrel carbs on the long ram manifold where the carbs fed the opposite cylinder bank. What a beast! Definitely not an environmental friendly car. As I watched this random video the Worman name bounced around in my head. There is a historic place in my hometown of Frederick MD named..Worman's Mill dating back to 1746. I was born 200 years later. Any relationship? Thanks for the memories.
i get it , i had 71 satellite Sebring and sold it cause i couldn't take care of it , bums me out when i think about knowing i can garage it now . be a vet is hard at times .
Such a sad story. I know I would never be able to see my beloved 57 vw bus as I had to sell to get a home for my family (which didn't even last a year) because i have no clue where it has gone to nor afford it no longer. I did it for best intentions, but had no gratification on the end result (no bus and then no home). 😞
This is a perfect example of why you don’t put cars on the back burner. They’re more important than your dancing, jokes, and movies etc., etc. Four years, c’mon!
Wow...they're using a straight plastic decal applicator/squeege?....a BIG NO NO in Decal application...it SHOULD BE a Felt tipped applicator to stop scratching/tearing the decal
Being a genuine blind person mark if you fly me over I'll read your numbers I don't know how to read braille but I guarantee I could deal that car and tell you 90% about it fly blind garage to graveyard cars haha😂
As an Ozzie...I've never ever been a fan of American Car's...EVER...just Big old Heavy tanks that DON'T handle and wollow and bounce all over the road...but if I had to owvn/drive one it would be one of these Cuda's/Challenger's from 70 on...definately not pre 70 as they're dog ugly imo
The torque to break that loose has nothing to do with initial torque.I bet that nut should be torqued to around 75-85 foot pounds,no need for anymore. You need to find out
Very classy Mr Worman. Nice tribute to a man that loved his car
Very Classy move Mr Worman... He got to see it one last time before he passed away... Hopefully his son will be a good caretaker for it.. RIP..
That was absolutely beautiful, bless Mr. Gay, his family, and to all of you at Graveyard Carz!!!! Stunning car!
Definitely one of the best episodes the Ole guy held out long enough to see his baby come home. Awesome
No matter what make of car you're loyal to, this is the reason why we have that ( special ) one. It may not be the one we had back then or it may be a replica, but the memory and feelings you get from it are what its all about. RIP
You guys are first class people that truly make dreams come true. Home run, Mr. Worman.
I'm glad Mr. Gay had a chance to see his car one last time. Great job Graveyard Cars crew!
A truly amazing episode. He hung on just to see his baby one last time before he departed. RIP Mr Gay.

Just awesome! We built the Road Runners in Fenton, Missouri Plant #1 South U.A.W. Local 136 I'm Retired @ Chrysler! God Bless You Mr. Worman!
Very moving story.
beautiful story, the attachment enthusiasts have to their cars is something a non car enthusiast can never understand.
mark this was your BEST Episode tx
Heart warming story. One of GC's best!

Beautiful car!!!
Some of us have had that one car that was like our first true love and it’s a special feeling.
If not people like u their be no America and the people u being back memories that alone be proud of Americans history we need people like u for hope in this very hard times

You’re a class act mr workman .👍👍👍👍👍👍
I had a '72 340 RR in orange with the strobe stripe.
This was a heart warming video. Thanks for sharing it with us
Wow, amazing, the orange inserts looked great, Justin's steering column assembly was very interesting.
Thanks Mark
Thanks to the crew at Graveyard Carz for making that special moment happen for Mr Gay. that meant the world to him without a doubt.
Lovely car and it’s good he got to see it but also so sad that by the time the car was eventually ready that he was too sick to even ride in it.
A great story and well edited.
They are not just cars. To some they are part of the family. I miss my babies I had to sell because life got in the way.
Awesome story Mr Worman class personified… Rest easy Mr. Gay your son has it from here❤️

I believe 70 was the only year the Road Runner was offered with the dust stripe along each side of the body...
i get it , i had 71 satellite Sebring and sold it cause i couldn't take care of it , bums me out when i think about knowing i can garage it now . be a vet is hard at times .
Nice job Mark aka Trey or the ice man!! !!!
I believe 71 was the only year the Road Runner had the Road Runner Face in the grille...
That is so SAD. and heart breaking
Tiny Dancer looks just like "The Great Gazoo" off of The Flintstones.
Rolling automotive art
That's sad brother
Dream maker 🙂
Bottom line every car has a beautiful story of memories....
Such a sad story. Good Yoused Cars, great job. He waited for sure, he probably had a great evening as well.
Never even got to drive the dam thing
take your meds, Mark
Such a wonderful ending to Mr Gay life story. Rip sir.
if anything, and i know it was probably not possible, i would have taken the old time for one last ride, even as a passenger.
This is a perfect example of why you don’t put cars on the back burner. They’re more important than your dancing, jokes, and movies etc., etc. Four years, c’mon!

What's with all the snuggling of sacks in these comments? Jeez
Wow...they're using a straight plastic decal applicator/squeege?....a BIG NO NO in Decal application...it SHOULD BE a Felt tipped applicator to stop scratching/tearing the decal
Is Mark the outer, inner or just the nut
OMG Mark you missed the best one. You need someone with Tourette syndrome to do it. You can thank me later
Being a genuine blind person mark if you fly me over I'll read your numbers I don't know how to read braille but I guarantee I could deal that car and tell you 90% about it fly blind garage to graveyard cars haha😂
What a bunch of nonsense. You'll twist this any way you can.
