- The Street Sweeper is back! Stacey delves into just how many parts it takes to completely change the drivetrain and suspension on a classic muscle car. Accessories, transmission, overdrive, headers, the list may seem to go on forever, but is about finding the right parts in the aftermarket , to build the car that YOU want. After that it’s off to the races to see if E3’s new top fuel spark plug can handle the pressure of competition. If you want to see the in’s and out’s of building a car, GEARZ is the show to see!

Never seen a grandmother car with dual flowmasters, maybe she was from Pasadena?
😂and a flex fan...
No doubt.
I love the build, but I think you got away from the sleeper theme a little bit, myself,I would have ran steel wheels,or custom replicas of a factory wheel, anything to make it look even less of a threat in a race, still a great build!
Definitely a factory wheel he definitely missed the mark on the sleeper theme
NAILED IT *
All you have to do is spend about 50k and boom.
Sleeper? nope. Continious Advertisments yep
And the alternate rear tires are for when you're feeling miss-chee-vee-us.
@@jerrytee2688 cool stuff but yea.
Yeah I like Stacy and his show, but am tired of these dang advertisements and gets old quick. Even though it's awesome equipment etc, ya get tired of it and have learned to just forward it lol
I don't know, man. It was putting me to sleep.
those rims kinda blow the whole sleeper theme...
I AGREE. I WOULD HAVE JUST PUT THE RIMS ON IT THAT COME ON THE HEMI CUDA,,CHALLEGER? OR MOPARS RALLYE RIMS?? IM SHURE A MOPAR GUYS KNOWS WHAT ONES IM TALKING ABOUT. THAT WOULD SET THE PROFILE OFF JUST A BIT,,HAD A GENUINE MOPAR PART,,AND STILL KEPT THE SLEEPER THEME.
@@EXTIQUE Thank you for sharing your thoughts and options in all caps. Certainly gets your point across.
If I had an unlimited supply of time and money, this would be my favorite series of infomercials!
This is still pretty cool about turning Grandma's Satellite into a Road Runner.
Good show
Those ole Mopar 727's look so crazy like a Powerglide with a 36" tail shaft housing. That gear vendor makes it look even crazier. I've seen them hold up to 1 hell of a pounding though. Seen a couple rip the ass end off but overall its typical Mopar. That "1000hp" gear vendor will probably hold 3 times that now. They are the go-to for the modern-day pro-mod street racecar.
What a difference 4 years makes. I would put a modern day hemi in that car. The horse power isn't far off and you don't have that large heavy motor pushing you into the curves. If you have emission testing that old school hemi might not pass the inspection. Parts are easier to get for them also. After watching this video more...….Anyone looking at the wheels and tires plus the exhaust note coming from that old school hemi is going to know what it is. It will no longer be a sleeper.
Love this show that you are on UA-cam
23 minute video, 3 minutes of brake install, 20 minutes of ads.
Thanks. I do those wheels are hideous, however.
He wanted to build a "sleeper" because building a pro touring car is too expensive, but in the end he still built a pro touring car. This was supposed to be something someone could build on a budget, be fun to drive and hold its own on the street, That went away when they installed a $2000 front suspension and it flew out of the park with the HEMI. This is what happens when you have the ability to throw endless amount of money at a project.
That’s why it’s stuck on UA-cam
I'd like to see the cost of everything they put in that thing
Get out there, make money, and live your dreams.
Eh, the show is what it is, ....it's half infomercial for people with more budget than many of us, but for people in that kind of budget range, something like an old Satellite sure is cheaper than what you'd pay for, say, a rusty Road Runner needing all kinds of parts and bodywork and paint and all. I don't particularly mind being advertised to, even if it's probably generlly too pricey for my real situation. Some ideas can be copied. :)
Give up coffees and part out some vehicles on the side and it's doable.
Steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps would be better.
rusty steel wheels with one dog dish missing on each side.......
Yep, Every sleeper I ever saw had 17 x 11 wheels and 315 wide tires. Come on Stacey, A sleeper is bone stock on the outside. This is Pro touring.
Totally agree.
@@jerrytee2688 def pro-touring, otherwise it would be widened steel wheels, 70/30 shocks, slapper bars, plexiglass windows, lots of holes, maybe acid dipped, big stall, cutouts, pained fiberglass parts/bumpers, 2 stage NOS run under the cast stock 4 barrel intake, hell maybe a turbo ls swap, and lots of other tips/tricks, dont forget the pimp juice.
Dude I have a 86monte Carlo with a 327stroker and on the outside stock inside bad to the bone
Look out Stacey, someone is after your job, that is a cool Dart
I always feel the aftermarket serpentine systems take up far more real estate than stock systems do
well win i got a new high out put alt. the shop said its easier to spin it at high lode i have v belts / cogged engine belt
Stacey when you going to finish the katzkin -street sweeper
Excellent
Granny? dual exhaust? Flowmasters? chrome valvecovers? 4 barrel? aluminum intake? who's the Granny Shirley "Cha Cha" Muldowney?? (let me sell you some parts) lol
Wheels: I'd have used some specifically created steelies that would fit 17s and 18s that look totally poverty and stock. :D lol Use dog dishes (Poverty caps) for that totally sleeper look.
Can I use the e3 plugs in my old school 350
It's crazy how you look at that 11" wheel, and it looks massive, like it's 18 inches wide. Especially when you look at 11" on a tape. It looks smaller.
Must be nice to be backed by a show to put 40 grand into a 5 thousand dollars car lol
Sleeper should have a 17x11 steel wheel and a hubcap
Ya, no not really.
Spend 74 grand to win a few hundred. And I never got to hear the fuc'''ng thing run. Geesh. Disappointed.
the point is youd be spending all that on a restoration anyways and then all the money on the interior and body and the jacked up price on the car itself. probably 60% of the price of a collector muscle car.
you can save money if you know how to build and machine your own engine or throw some shitter under the hood. you could always throw a junk yard tranny in there and replace it every 6 months. keep the old suspension so you throw your investment into a wall with 70s suspension. point is, this hobby isn't for everyone. it costs money, or connections with friends, and hard work. you aint got the cash to play? go play another game.
this is a heavily sponsored show with lots of resources and contracts with sponsors to answer to. why wouldn't they throw nice parts in? you wanna learn how to put a scrap heap together, go do it.
Just go buy a 66 up C body- 66 to 70- 440/727 even comes with the correct oil pan. Buying a high dollar engine plate. Piece of 3/8 6061 Aluminum plate and make your own! Can put a RB into any A B C F M body for the cheap.
Way past sleeper mode. He built a full fledged hot rod!
i was shocked when my cousin picked me up on leave with a 73 satellite baby moon caps
I wonder in Gear Vendors makes one of those adapters for a GM TH 400
Yes they do
vs purchasing an A518 which doesn't always prescribe a drive shaft change that the GV does. Also doesn't require the electronics as 46R transmissions worked hydraulic and not electronic.
gonna have to take the radiator back out to drop the engine in
is the a727 transmission a good one or the a518 transmission
So what is total cost for everything used from the car purchase itself to every part used?
Im just looking forward to paying the shipping price for the planner so i can write in it everything that i cant afford
Budget build my ass that brake system alone is around 4k
To build one of these cars- your budget would have to be very large. I had one of these with a 400 police engine It ran damn good until the fire.
Dumping about 30 grand of OPM is kinda funny , and he keeps saying save this , save that . cheap if you are bill gates .
love it all except for the wheels-great car eh
Yeah like all of us have 30k burning a hole in our pockets. If parts like this started showing up at the house my wife would be leaving with bags packed.
Jeez,One big ass commercial.
Hows that any different than any other one of the 10 thousand times a day you're bombarded with consumerism? Welcome to America.
ok wilwood i like my big brake kit in the front but pls. fix the hubs it makes rim fitment a night mare i like 2013 charger rims
Gearvendors, only $3K minimum.
why soo dam expensive ?
vs purchasing an A518 which doesn't always prescribe a drive shaft change that the GV does. Also doesn't require the electronics as 46R transmissions worked hydraulic and not electronic.
Well, cause they're awesome if you like automatics? They're away to make certain legendary autos more driveable on the highway without making everything all fragile.
the street sweeper part 3 are you goin finish it.
Rufus Sharpton I was thinking the same thing???
Does any one know if they make parts for a 1954 international truck I am 16 years old and trying to get my truck running on a budget.
Probably not a lot, but I think I remember seeing the make on Rock Auto's site. I suggest finding an International group/owner's club, etc on the Net, ...there's a fandom for just about everything and there ought to be some people who know.
Ok first off ... that looked like a flowmaster type muffler with aluminum pipe and what Grandma puts Chrome valve covers on her car ??? Im kinda callin BS on this Grandmas Car thing !!!
+Bleepstick Or puts on trans am inspired wheels.
That’s exactly what I thought. But then Again we are building on a budget also here. With an assload of sponsors 😂
That was a stock MoPar OEM single exhaust system that they pulled out of the car.
@@calvinhandley2373 it had duel flowmasters, wtf u talking about?😂😂😂
My 06 needs your skills
Do 90 year old women have chrome valve covers accel plug wire's holley carbs an flowmaster mufflers on their daily driver?
Of course not. If I live that long they'll be finned aluminum. :)
Don't forget the flex fan😂
Can I have a vise? I need one!
I got 1 with factory 400 from cal
Would have been much cheaper and more interesting to supercharge or turbo the 318. But it's a cool car.
Do you build these cars for other people
I could use a free vise like that... ~( 'w')/
Maybe I'll share my 74 international once its closer to done.
Why not just use the transmission for a car in the truck? My old three speed in my 66 was the same as a car, as far as size and fitment. The ratio are different I'm sure.
Can gearvendors deal with 1200 ft lbs of torque?
Is there anymore
good thing you have an unlimited budget... your going to need it to completely re-engineer a car....
This is still pretty much a spam and advertising channel. He is so busy pitching for different aftermarket companies that he can't even stay on track with whatever he might be building at the time. He spends maybe 10 min building. The rest of it pitching products. And this isn't budget building. This is really a let's see how much we can spend on aftermarket parts. Let's throw big bucks at it. Money that most can't afford.
GALAXIE 500XL 23 minute long commercial
Because everyone dumps 50g in parts into a $7000 car lol
Not everybody has the money to buy a Hemi and a transmission and a complete front suspension and all the other stuff I would like to see Stacy build a budget Streetcar
I would have gone with steelies.
that was my first car in 1981 my HS car 318 white with blue int i want it please
I’m going to cAll bs on grandmas car. Chrome valve covers and new exhaust? I’ve got grandparents that are 90 and no way they would spend on that crap😂
Don't forget the flex fan😂and those were flowmaster mufflers..
Road course???? Puh-leeze!
Ha!
WHAT IS THE TOTAL PRICE!
Definitely missed the mark on this build my a lot a sleeper is suppose to look stock not something that's been built
Put tires on rims, all ads for them, and 22 mins of other ads. What did you actually do to the car?I missed something between commercials?
The idea of a sleeper is not to draw any attention...fancy wheels and a lowered stance blow this concept right out of the water.
One big advetisment
Now I remember why I never watched this show. 25 minutes of commercials and 2 minutes of working on a car. Then maybe a month later they get back to the car you were hoping to see finished. Most of the time you never see it finished because you miss that show where they finish it.
I really like the 73-74 satellite/road runner but those wheels ain't making it. A sub to hot rod? C'mon man, dead trees deserve better. A sub to mopar action would do it
Stacey, come on man....how about building the caliber of "sleeper" using strictly Junk Yard or U-Pull-It parts.
When are you going to finish the street sweeper like to see it run and see what it does blah blah blah????
Wheels look sorta cool but the 3 spoke center caps are garbage.
Just some plain jane old rally wheels would fit a "sleeper" much better. Kinda defeats the purpose of the sleeper theme.
Like the guy, but most of these builds are 1960's old man heavy metal. Most of which no one is ever going to do. Who would ever plan and buy a 3 speed auto, even with and overdrive.
Lots of people actually....
number3665
lol, yea right, how dose the old saying go, me myself and I, the three people you know.
zhp500 Hahahaha XD
What a carnival barker
Buy! Buy! Buy! Buy!
Hey Stacy, I’ve got an idea… Add up the cost of everything you put into this project,
and tell us how much of YOUR OWN money you spent
Since when do brake calipers go on without brake pads?
Yes, some of us are watching. My lawyer will be contacting you. . ....
JK. ... Nice show.
I watch it a lot.
Those calipers actually load from the rear and are retained by a rod threaded into the caliper.
Chill with the chrome it ain't the late 90s early 2000 anymore
Why do all the shows choose the weirdest most un-popular car to dump $70K into. It would have been so much cooler if he chose...like....a 68 Charger, or 70 Road runner. Something not ugly AF.
You must not know that junker status cars you reference push$15,000. Then you get to do body work on top of the mods.
Why does everybody have to put those huge ridiculous fucking wheels on everything? Since it's supposed to be classified as a sleeper, that would give it away right away, big ridiculous wheels and real expensive low profile tires! I would put a set of 15 × 8's on the front and 15× 12's on the rear, black wheels with a dog dish hubcap in the middle with raised white letter tires! And I wouldn't change anything else!
90 percent of the time your better off keeping the stock airbox pn your diesel truck. Dont believe the hype!
What happened to the rest of the build?
9:53 The laws of physics dictate that you can never create a larger contact patch, all you can do is change the shape of the contact patch to a very wide one which does not have much length from front to back, assuming you were running the same tire pressure. The surface area of the contact patch is a function of the weight on that tire, and nothing more. Don’t believe me, research it for yourself.
Pretty sure all those race teams have
1st Stacy needs a class in SLEEPER, which doesn't include 3k in wheels and tires when viewed rolling down the road.
He needs to find out what cost-saving budget means not this sell every project to every vendor like some marketing campaign. Oh, wait, my bad. This ENTIRE series is nothing but an ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN. From Gibson Guitars to megabuck engine builders and coating distributors. The v8 eliminator episode he pulls out headers " blah blah they come with this super dooper coating so they won't burn off,, blah blah" fast forward to assembly "we sent the headers off to yabbadabdoo coatings for their super cool blah some vendor paid my marketing department megabucks to have me Kneel and bob."
As a 32 year Master ASE and real car builder I'm sick of shit like this.
@John Wymer So what is "stock looking" about those fuckin' wheels?
Cold air intakes were debunked awhile ago. It's a waste of money.
This is ridiculous. They’re supposed to be building a sleeper and they put 315’s on 11” rims? Please. That K-member cost more than the motor I’d put in a true sleeper like that.
You forgot the brake pads. Y'all need to pay me to double check your editing and help you reconnect with your audience because you've gotten way off you need to have a show that is interesting that makes people want to watch and learn stuff and then advertisers will pay for add time not have their own show this is more like watching an infomercial I'm just waiting for the ShamWow guy to come out and go but wait there's more
Why the fuck is he laughing all the time ??
+Emil Bos Nitrous.
T.H.C
cuz he's a cool GUY 🔧😎👍
I tell you what you guys really know how to kick the poor man when he's down. I'm on disability and can't afford that shit. Yes I would love to put that in my car. But that would cost me a well more then my car is worth. I tell you what . Your next show I will let you use my 72 roadrunner and you install all that stuff for me. That's the only way I will be able to afford that. Just call me front royal va
How. How can a classic car be a sleeper?? Can’t. How about “Bunch if aftermarket parts swapped onto a nice car so it looks cool “.
Not even close to a sleeper.
This is lame. Who put a 20k drivetrain in a 73 satellite.
HE SHOULD HAVE PUT THE OLD TIRES AN RIMS ON TO KEEP IT A SLEEPER DUM SHIT
Because no traction?
Wheels are ugly
Not a manual, shame...
Bullshit nothing ever just bolts on when modifying a car.
True
like my brakes / new rims
they can keep buying the e3 plugs ill stick to my factory plugs and spend 3 dollars less in my opinion e3 are rip off plugs even for the street use cars
I am a mopar guy all the way. Owned super bee. Road runner. Have a 70 charger rt 440 six pack. I can not stand the looks of these 73-74 Plymouth. Yuk
me 2 ps. what are u using 4 rims ?
I dunno, I'm more a Duster gal, myself, but I kind of like this build. I bet those big things are less boatey with all that restomod stuff underneath. :) I mean, everyone wants the Superbee or Roadrunner, etc, hence they're so expensive. This is a lot cooler to me than yet another paint-it-orange-and-fake it build, really, though my sleeperish sweet spot is to look sleeperish at *first* glance, but I wouldn't be afraid to, say, convert to a 4-speed and add gauges, or put spunky rims on there. Other car people on the road seem to enjoy spotting em out on second glance. :)
FUEL ECONOMY??What kind of mpg are you expecting with a 528 cu in engine with 700 hp. You will be lucky to get 8 mpg highway at the speed limit
Not so much of a sleeper car no more.the first thing I check is the sound of the vehicle and second is the wheels and tires.this video has failed that!
