Prof. Oluwole Soyinka is enigmatic and has been a treasure worth celebrating at the national level. Happy birthday to you and wishing you a longer life in good health..Hip! Hip!! Hip!!! Hurray!!!!!🍷🍷❤❤❤
To expect perfection from Prof. Wole Soyinka is to attempt to assign to him an attribute that is the sole reserve of God.
One or two instances of expression of opinions and thoughts by him which are opposite of what we may desire or wish of him is not enough to wipe off the legacies of his monumental achievements.
Like him or dislike him, he is a legend and deserves all the celebrations in his honour!
To assign perfection is a delusion of omnipotence!
Eloquently and well articulated
See you, Prof is not there to please you, you can jump into river,if he said something contrary to your opinion
Like it or not Wole Soyinka is one in thousand years and generation. He is a human being and is not bound to be loved by all men and all the time but his achievements are there to speak for him even after several years he might have gone. So let anybody disturb him/hersself abour Soyinka view about Tinubu. What if at the end of the day the Tinubu we hate so much with passion comes out to be the best that has ever ruled Nigeria do njt write off a man just because of the outlook of today.
Only Rufai is bold enough to disagree with someone he loves and respect.
An icon can be right on many fronts as as well as he could be wrong on other fronts. Prof Wole Soyinka should be honoured but he's not always right.
Only God reserves that right.
All because he no support obi abi? Una problem no be here
@@abubakarharuna747 Those looking up to Rufai or Abati or any other person playing the populist game by pretending to be speaking the "Truth" are either misguided, uninformed or both if they really knew the two men.
The litmus test for Dr. Abati which he flunked was getting embroiled in the Dasukigate security money sharing scandal and did some time in jail. Also, Rufai was arrested for driving wrong way in a friend's car and instead of admitting his violation began to curse and hurl insults at the traffic officers, resisting arrest, causing public disturbance including threatning to call the Governor on the guys for doing their job!!
One may then ask: how's Rufai's resisting arrest different from Yahaya Bello running from arrrest? Or how is his threat of reporting the poor traffic guys to the Governor different from politicians or thier family using the police or thier connections to harrass the poor masses?
Therefore, so far neither of these guys has passed the litmus test, they're not qualified to dream of being defender of the people let alone be called moral champions!!!
God bless you Rufai, Wole Soyinka is a great man, but people have the right to disagree with some of his decisions, make Abati they yarn there.
Dr. Abati is spot on ''Badly brought up Children and Nincompoops''
I love and respect Prof Soyinka regardless of what anyone thinks or say about him.
Most people respect him when he stood for justice and fairplay. But at old age,he is now dinning with the oppressors of the poor and youths of Nigerians. Even calling the same youths fascists & gbajue.Tribalism, old age or only God knows.

Wole Soyinka is indeed a literary genius and activist. I adore his literary prowess. Sadly, this ingenuity however can't be said about the consistency of his integrity.
Congrats to the great man.
No one begrudges Wole Soyinka of his towering literary status as a global colossus. The only thing that detracts from that recognition is his waning capacity and inability to condemn the woeful economic policies and political performance of his friend, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He should act better and differently if he wants to retain his national amd global reputation.

Immediately I saw your comment i quickly checked ur name and nothing to say anymore. By ur name d son of whom u are
Point of correction, he did not bring cultism into Nigeria. Rather cults have been part of African culture from time immemorial. Go do a little reading on African Traditional Religion for more information.
Specifically, what Prof introduced is university Fraternity as obtains in colleges in some developed Nations of the world including USA. It is the Nigerian factor of abuse and destruction of system or establishments that set in.
Fraternities still function in the US universities and colleges till date yet they don't go about harrassing or kpai people like you do. Just the same way democracy came and we made it demonstration of craze, internet came, we turned it to yahoo, christianity came, we turned it to exploitation....the list is endless.
The problem is not in the idea, or the initiator of the idea, but in our people and specifically, our mindset. Most of the leaders and successful people in US were members of fraternities. So also are many successful Nigerians such as late Prof Babs Fafunwa, the current Alake of Egba land amongs other higly successful people were and are still proud members of Pyrates Confraternities till date.

We know Wole Soyinka not Wale
Wole Soyinka hated Igbos with all his hearts. He wasn't arrested because he met with Ojukwu or Biafra. He was arrested because he tried to take over a radio station at gun point. He was declared wanted by the Nigeria government and he was on the run. Then when the civil war was about to start, he sneaked into the country and went to Biafra to meet Ojukwu and was arrested because Nigeria government had already declared him want because of his armed hostage of radio station. He was very crafty to come to Biafra after being in hiding because he knew ge will be arrested and it will appear as if he was arrested because if Biafra. They can spread whatever nonsense. They can only decieve the uneducated. We know who Soyinka is and we know his history. Nobody can decieve us, even if you say Soyinka composed Biafran athem, you can't decieve us. @joem551. We all know the igbo tribe as the most ingratitude set of people in Nigeria. You give them an inch, and they will take a mile.
These people are full of ethnoreligious bigotry, and above all, they are swimming in inflated egos.
Apparently they were operating a shadowy group called 3rd force which deceived Emmanuel Ifeajuna a naïve Ibo solder living in Ibadan an earlier version of Joe Igbokwe and persuaded him ( Ifeajuna by messaging his ego as commonwealth champion ) to organises a coup d'etat and install their "socilaist" hero who was in Calabar prison as president.
