  • I'm back with another update of what's happening here in Southern Utah!🗣️This time I'm in Hurricane along the Sand Hollow corridor. 👀🔥
There is so much going on out here it's crazy! This video is a very early description of what's currently in the works throughout this corridor. I did my best to include everything and as accurate as I could, but it really is A LOT so bare with me. I will update as it gets built out and more is confirmed. This area is the perfect spot to live and play, and look forward to seeing it all take shape!

As a resident of Hurricane I'm both excited and apprehensive about the growth. I sure hope that they widen Sand Hollow Rd sooner rather than later because on the weekend it's crazy busy.

I emailed the mayor and asked what the city was planning to do in the short term with the intersection of Sand Hollow Rd. and SR9. The left turn lane on Sand Hollow Rd. going west on SR9 can only accommodate 3 cars. What's going to happen when 45 ft. long RV's and pickups with trailers and fifth wheels from Clamper's Inn hit that intersection? She replied, "That's a good question." In other words, she didn't have an answer. Just another example of poor planning. Developments are being approved without adequate water and electricity. Unbelievable what developers and their toadie politicians are doing.

Thanks Macrae for the updates, but this one is really making me sad. So much over-development that is not sustainable. We don't have the water for this -- water parks seem pretty irresponsible. And turning all of those ATVs, boats, and Jet Skis loose is going to turn a peaceful place into a buzzing nightmare.

Where is the water to support all this growth going to come from?

Define watershed range of capacity for culinary water and use that as proof to determine development. Or, some similar formulation.

Now is the time to contact the building department and ask questions.

Glampers inn was started without approved plans from the city. It has been 18 months and all they have done is move dirt. Not sure if they have approved plans yet. About half the projects have had preliminary plans for over a year.

Glampers Inn was also taking reservations and not notifying people that it was not even close to being done. I know because we were one of them, thank God our trip was canceled for pet reasons otherwise we would’ve been screwed.

We need agriculture more than resorts down here.

We don't need more people. We don't even have enough water to sustain all this

ALL of your Politicians are already getting kickbacks for approving all this before most of the Residents even know about it !!!!

I personally talked to the City Engineer - and he was hesitant to say when Sand Hollow will be widened with the 4 Lane Round-A-Bout would be put in.
It will be - but eventually.
I asked him to just widen the intersection. He said no. It would be when they "eventually" widended the whole road.

Very disappointing. More vacationers and transients equals more traffic, noise and trash. Soon to follow will be lawsuits and legislation restricting our use of public lands due to the issues that overcrowding creates.
