You have shown time and time again that a little knowledge can take one a long way, how it is smarter to farm out things you can't do while your out bringing in the income and the power of doing and learning something your not exactly comfortable with but you know you can do plus the good advice from subscribers that have the experience and willing to share. Great stuff!
Those trucks use the oil pressure to fire the injectors so that low oil level was definitely an issue. I'm proud of you for working up the courage! the 7.3 has been the easiest motor I've ever worked on and the first and only diesel I've ever worked on and I've worked on every American brand as well has plenty of Toyotas Hondas and nissans. It don't help that the 7.3 has so much online info and resources and aftermarket stuff it's unreal. Hate the shop did you like that it's hard for me to trust anybody but myself these days.
According to Google A diesel engine might start "sucking" oil out of the crankcase primarily due to a faulty crankcase ventilation system, most commonly a clogged or malfunctioning PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, which leads to excessive pressure buildup in the crankcase, forcing oil past the piston rings and into the combustion chamber, effectively "sucking" the oil out.
Happy Thanksgiving bro. Definitely keep an eye on the oil. Maybe put some cardboard under the truck and see if you’re getting drips anywhere. Rough start up could be from weak batteries not spinning the engine fast enough and warming up the flow plugs hot enough. Those injectors work off the oil pressure and they need a lot of pressure that additive you used is good stuff.
Seem like these days you just can't trust shops. We have to check their work and initial old parts to ensure the new ones were installed. Truck does sound like it's running better though. Have you done a tune up on it?
Have you thought about getting selling the semi truck and rollback? Selling them would give you money to buy a newer dually. That semi is not an asset it's a liability, considering it's been sitting for two years, almost earning zero dollars. Just my thoughts and opinion, I enjoy your channel.
I think about it from time to time but with the insane low mileage it has plus the fact that i know the complete history of the truck, I always choose to keep it around. If i need one in the future, it wouldn't be as good as Big Red Dawg

I agree! Learning from those who have experience is the best way to grow!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
Wassup kj. The shop that you took your rollback to for the motor work. Are they good with duramax diesel
Last i checked, they work on all types. One of the employees has a Duramax so I'm sure they can.
I think those 7.3 use oil to runs the injectors
They do
Hey what’s up bro how are you much love let’s go
Either the batteries are low or something else is going on. That is not a good start-up on a 7.3. Too long and slow.
Agreed! I'm gonna look into that asap.
@10TowsDownTowing maybe starter. Don't be scared of those diesels. Some issues are easier to fix than a gas engine.
BIG facts!!!
👀
