We has one of the best fishing days of my life on Center Hill, my fishing buddy Alan( RIP), were fishing in middle of the summer during a very hot day, only catching a few small ones on Spook, but when we pulled into Cookeville Boat dock we threw a few mister twister grubs( chartreuse & white) , and ending up catching 41 fish, smallmouth, spots and largemouth, the smallest was 4.3 lbs and the biggest was a 7.3 smallmouth. BY THE TIME WE HAD CAUGHT ABOUT HALF THE FISH, A CROWD OF ONLOOKERS WERE WATCHING AND CHEERING US ON. I WAS SO CLAD THAT WE HAD THAT MEMORY TOGETHER BEFORE HE LOST HIS BATTLE WITH LIFE AT 53 YEARS OLD ✌️💙
Man you have some serious guts venturing out there. With the weather, fog, and catching a massive drum, I will be very worried....excited....then worried, lol. STay safe out there bud! Thanks for sharing.
Wow is all I can say friend!!!! That was an incredible outing on the water! Magnificent catches from start to finish 👍. I enjoyed this video very much! All the knowledge of gear and techniques definitely shows! Outstanding job!!!!!!
What a tank! Gotta wonder about the first 2 that broke off. I’ll let you know if I catch a monster with your hook in it when I head there this weekend!
The way the first one was pulling me around and snapped it like a twig I believe it to be a striper. The second one didn't give me a chance to gauge LOL
All of them! All four at the same time! Just never with the sluice Gates open or the floodgates open. The orifice gate can be open and still utilize the pond area but it's very rarely open
Like most fishermen, I have more than I need. All brands make models I like and don't like. If you can tell me what size fish or what species I can tell you when I prefer to Target them
@@loftbruh4074 I like a six and a half foot stiff rod with medium action that calls for 8 to 12 lb test. I would set something like that up with a 2000 or 20 series reel. Those would be reals that call for 8 to 12 lb test. I would put some 8 lb red Cajun line on there and you can catch everything in the state of Tennessee lol
100’s of gar swimming right below you. It’s all we have caught last few trips Fishing wolf creek damn for next few weeks. I’d love to see y’all do a video there
I don't disagree but they cost as much as my boat. I got to running 14 and a half foot fiberglass one piece boat with a Yamaha 15 horsepower pull start tiller engine. There was a full size car battery to run the trolling motor which was mounted to the front and has three speeds and works like a beast! Motor starts on the first pull and we've been through tanks of gas. $3000
Great video. I've been fishing Center Hill for over 50!years but not seen below the dam action like that. 🎣💪
Thats the way to go,bank fishin there is limited when the gens are running.giant trout in there.

I’m ready brother I’m moving to Livingston tn next month .
Check out the umbrella. Lol. Stay weird, dude. Awesome!
🤣
I've learned my lesson with dams. With a variety of bi-catch wanting the same bait, I use braid or heavier line.
As a middle Tennesseean and angler myslef you just earned a new Sub great video my dude! Tight Lines 🤙🏾🎣
And now he is in my lap! Hahaha love it man. Thank you for such awesome footage

I got a little tippy when I was pulling in that big drum, it can be intimidating next to that water LOL
That’s the biggest drum I have seen here ! Nice job bro 🎉
So sick dude.
Freaking epic!
LOL luv the better days drum fishing channel !!!
I've never caught as many drum in one year as I have this year LOL apparently their population is doing really well in Middle Tennessee
Hello Nice
U using a casting rod with a spinning reel?? And this is in my neck of the woods, I always fish somewhere up top on the lake however
I'm not the smartest fisherman so I don't necessarily know what kind of gear I'm using but it seems to do the trick 😜

These first couple minutes hurt. 😢

Hey brother, I would love to go kayak fishing with you sometime. We are actually going today below Center Hill Dam!
How did it go today?
Amazing!! How many generators can be running and it still safe to kayak pond side?
All of them! All four at the same time! Just never with the sluice Gates open or the floodgates open. The orifice gate can be open and still utilize the pond area but it's very rarely open
I’m camping down there this weekend. Been looking forward to it for awhile. Thanks
Good stuff
That's awesome. Hey man what is your go to spinning setup? Rod and reel?
Like most fishermen, I have more than I need. All brands make models I like and don't like. If you can tell me what size fish or what species I can tell you when I prefer to Target them
@@Betterdaysfishing small mouth, large mouth and some pan fish. Basically something that works for both

@@Betterdaysfishing sweet sounds good man. Thank you!
May I ask why you are fishing with 8LB test? I would be using atleast 20lb braid with a 15-20lb mono leader! Works like a charm!
I always want to go as light as possible. Very few fish in middle tn can snap that 15 lb test leader. They got me on that day!!
Thanks
Nice video! I definitely need to get back out there, them smallies are healthy buddy! "You know what we're having..... A DAY"! Lol🤣😂🤣😂 Great job!
I was out there all by myself! It's freaking heaven on 🌎
Thats one hell of a drum! Great job landing that monster.

@@Betterdaysfishing yeah I don't blame you then , I just found your channel today, you got a new sub
Dams scare the crap out of me. They are dangerous
Oh it's terrifying. It's very intimidating and I'd be lying if I said it didn't scare me. I've done it so many times now that I'm used to it LOL
