THE DREAM - THE BADLANDS 2022 FEATURE FILM ENTRY

Nominated for the feature film category in the 2022 Badlands Film Festival.
As humans we all engage as hunters in one form or another in order to feed our desires. For us this craft is exercised in the pursuit of extraordinary experiences in the outdoors. Maine provides us with endless challenges of that very pursuit, from its deep timber to its unpredictable coast line. Hunting in Maine just flat out isn't easy, but it's our passion.
Our film “The Dream” was 20 years in the making. I have dreamed of a close encounter with a bull moose, bow in hand since I harvested my last moose with a rifle two decades ago. In typical HuntingMe fashion I wanted the whole family to be apart of this adventure. Alongside myself was my wife Emma, not only as the permit holder but also as the biggest supporter of our crew, my son Rye, always my shadow and provider of comic relief and my dear friend Josh as my “right hand” hunting partner just as he has through endless other adventures and vice versa. We set up camp just off the St.John River in one of the most remote areas of Maine; Zone 01.
With only six days to close the deal, all 4 of us and our two videographers Forrest, and Nik trekked through thick woods, muddy marshes, big bogs and long dirt roads looking for the king of Maine’s woods. When we heard his crown bashing against the alders behind us we knew we were dreaming.
