Emils hips don't lie
and I'm starting to feel it's right
Shakira approves this
"I could go on for hours and hours about different techniques there are in climbing." Yes, please!
also one important technique: pinching your foot onto a hold
Psyched you’re talking about Hip Mobility/Engagement! Such a vital part of climbing technique that’s undervalued and undertrained a lot. It seems to come naturally to some people whereas others aren’t so lucky, so the more education we can spread about it the better! Appreciate the video and I like the voice over style 🤙
The bit about pinching holds as if you were 10 times stronger makes sense when you think about it. We're all stronger than we think, it's just about managing to find/reach that strength.
That's funny; I was just working on this problem with a low overhung start and large pinches. My friend asks how I do the start. Me: "By sheer force of will"
I'm so spoiled to have Solna as my regular gym, so I can relate to every single boulder you are showing 😊
Also, great ad-work! 😅
I know that feeling :-D I was so psyched when we moved to Stockholm so that I can try at least some of the boulders Emil (and Eric) show in their videos :-D That is really cool! The route setting in Solna is really nice.
Thanks! :D
I just moved here and did a double take, haha!
Been climbing 6 years and content like this is still useful, especially hips!
Visualization: the only possible way to climb right now. :D
Great video as usual Emil. And I like this style of videos (even though I also simply enjoy watching you sending hard stuff). Definitely appreciated. I definitely need to work on my hip engagement. Will try to focus more on that.
Saving this for later to serve as hype for my session tonight. Thanks Emil and congrats on the sponsor! Looking forward to the animation!
I watch a ton of technique videos. This is by far one of the best Ive ever watched. Thanks Emil. Subscribed.
Thanks Emil I appreciate your efforts in making these high quality, informative videos, added to my private playlist for repeat viewing
Wunderbar content Emil.
I was trying to verbalize to a friend a few techniques that have noticeably helped my noob climbing and you nailed all of them 🙌🏻
(Your videos are edited perfectly - succinct, smooth and clear - and you’re a great teacher too).
Such a good, informative video! Would love more of these videos!!! Your a natural at explaining things! Nice one dude 👍🏻
I absolutely loved this video!! The style was so nice and it was really I sight full, even though I thought I would know everything.
On infinite lockdown in Germany, I miss bouldering so so much 😭 I wanna try out what you talk about so badly
ha, same, but i tend to sneak into a small, community driven gym onnce in a while. if you have a non commercial gym in town, perhaps you can connect with them and help with "construction work" ^^
That sucks to hear :/ is there not even like an estimate of when the country opens up again?
@@EmilAbrahamsson well they always prolong the lockdown near the end of the month for another month. Realistically I expect it to last until March at least.
@@herrar6595 haha thanks for the suggestion, I´ll check if there is an opportunity here
Thank you coach Emil and thank you Skillshare 😎
I like this. Not boring, not over-excited. Good knowledge and good communication. Thanks. Subscribed.
Grymt bra video! Riktigt användbar info!
Awesome video, your recent videos are getting me back into climbing even though the walls are shut in the UK. Starting to train and stretch to get ready for the reopening.
Great video, great edit, and great info!
These videos help so much man, thank you! I would love to see the strength video you had in mind :)
Great content. Very good editing. Chill vibes.

Awesome video Emil!
Very helpful. Great video Emil. Thanks.
Great video!! Thanks for the tips!
love this kind of videos and all the effort that goes into them!!!!!
This is my 30st video or so from youtube on climbing techniques and is just the best. It spoke to me the most. I'll try them tomorrow. Thanks.
I'll be so stoked if you continue to release technique videos!
Good work buddy! really inspiring, keep 'em coming
thank you for the great content Emil 😊
This was such a good video! Thanks Emil!
Great video, as always! Made me think of visualization in a new way, gonna keep it in mind on my project!
Great work and nice tips!
really enjoyed this video simple and quick
Great video! Definitely doing them
Great video, useful information. I was only watching your videos before because they were recommended in my algorithm, but I liked and subscribed. Love your vlog, great content!
Really good video!
Love this level of detail. Really enjoy tips & tricks videos as well. 10/10 this one! :)
Awesome!
Enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for taking other techniques than those which are talked about most; toe & heel hooks.
Solid work, thanks @emil shared with my nephew who's just starting out..
Thanks for the tips on technique! Nice editing too.
Nice video Emil! Very helpful :)
Great video Emil
I appreciate your time. Great video. Thanks
Another great video Emil. 😎😎😎
Love the video! You said it was a lot of effort to make, but I think the effort really paid off and I learned a lot! Will watch again when I next climb to help improve my technique!

Very informative Emil! Thank you! Can’t wait to focus on hip engagement when I’m in the gym tonight :)
Amazing Video, you can really see the effort going in. Thanks! Also for making the sponsor announcement so funny, that's helps everybody. Again, solid work, faboulus Video.
Thank you!
Might be my favourite video of yours - and that says a lot! Thank you, will be super helpful once the gyms open again. You explained some of the things that seem very difficult to properly focus on in a very simple way.
Cheers, thanks for saying so :)
I love this video. Great job explaining everything. More videos like this please.
This was really good!!!! Thanks!!!!
Excellent. Learned a lot.
Thanks Emil! This is super helpful - especially your demonstration of climbing with/without a technique.
I think something which might help illustrate it even better (at least for beginners) for some of the more subtle/less obvious techniques would be to have a split-screen of the climb with/without technique so that we can see it side by side at the same time.
pretty cool outlook on technique !
Very helpful! Thanks!
Amazing video, You should make a video playlist of all of your training videos, they are great!
Nice video, loved the tips and the humour. :) :)
Super helpful and informative 👍
Perfectly artful & helpful...thanks for tips. Pro skills video AND climbing
I absolutely love these intros in beautiful snowy Norwegian woods. Thanks for showcasing the importance of experimenting with shifting hip/knee positions etc. I find that climbing with that particular focus is a great way to warm up my body and brain for climbing too. This video obviously took a lot of work and it's awesome to see you experimenting with technique/format. Thank you!
edit: big congrats on sponsorship too
Great content Emil. Most importantly, drop knees are a key step in looking like you know how to climb, even if you're completely useless. 😂
Great video Emil! Thanks a lot for this!
Thanks! :)
Great vid Emil
Nice video, not the usual 4 beginner tips we see everywhere! I find "tweaks" very satisfying to use! I should try and find even more of those :) Just waiting for the gyms to open now! :D
Very helpful video!
Great video. Inspired to go work on these.
love this and i miss climbing
Still enjoying this content a year later! Thank you for all the great videos
You got it Emil, keep it up! You're doing pretty good video. I like it when you go over some basics to remind us how you got this far! Seeya
Great video!
Glad to see you getting some sponsorship attention. Great info.
I have also noticed that visualizing yourself as stronger really helps. As you said, it has to do with putting more power into certain grips, but that whole mindset is really helpful and makes it come naturally.
Very helpful. Being mindful of tweaking is something I want to really work on.
Quality advice. Helped me right after I watched this video. Thank you 🙏🙏🙂
Great video thanks, very helpful and fun to watch! When you talked about hip engagement the term rock over came to my mind. Similarly I associate tweaks with drop knees
Great video! Would love to see more like this about advanced techniques
Sure thing! I've got some advanced stuff that I'm excited to make :)
Nice video with the boiled down info! And skillshare, your sponsorship works, at least on me, I'll try it out 💪
Congrats for being sponsored! That is great! ;)
Really like this kind of content Emil, keep crushing
Thank you!
Loved it! More technique :)
Also, this is such a good and helpful video!! Definitely appreciated 💜
Amazing!!
great video!
Ahhh, I love the song you have on in the intro. (facetime)
I found it through one of your older videos and it's currently one of my favorite songs!
this was so fun! cheers bro;)
Really helpful video and thanks for making it! Would also be interested in seeing what you have to say about strength training :)
Looking forward to go back outside and practice these techniques, thank you!
Super good content!
Impressive, thanks a lot!
Great advice.
Helped a lot
Damn watching those boulder vids gets me emotional, as I can´t climb right now, due to a certain virus ruining our days :') Thanks for uploading Emil, great vid as always! Can´t wait to get back on the wall...
Good video mate
Good video, thanks
Haha! Love the visual joke on the thumbnail!!
thats was actually very helpful im looking for technique tips rn
Hey Emil! I have been setting at my small local climbing gym for about a year now. Could you do a video explaining how to force movement while setting? I would really take interest to something like that and people who are setting for their home-walls might benefit from some tips as well! Have an awesome day! Love the vids man!
Great video, finally starting to climb again and all of those things will have to be re learned 😅
