@@zelgiusthebrave1401 Charisma isn't "trash" but compared to all the other stats and skills you can run a low Charisma and have a better experience. Also since the dialogue uses all the skills for speech checks its good to level up all the other skills to so you can pass their speech checks.
@@destruction126 um no you cant having high speech can literally give you a better experience since you can skip boring quests and can continue having fun speech is so broken in fallout nv and that stuff about dialogue using every skill is total bs for most skills you can use it in dialogue like once or twice ever whereas you can use speech and barter dozens of times and wdym its good to level up all skills absolutely no it isnt why would you ever level something youll never use it just makes you lag behind so you can pass that one very specific skill check that probably doesnt do anything for you most non charisma checks dont do much you dont need speech and barter for sure but saying theyre anything but busted is straight up wrong you may not need high charisma for those skills but it is so worth it for that boost since you can invest more in other skills plus charisma can give some great perks like lady killer and confirmed bachelor (and the female variants) which give you +10% to damage against any human and thats a massive percentage of what youll be fighting how can you possibly say charisma isnt op since its the gateway to the most op stat in the game
Doc actually comments on your most extreme stat, so very high, like a nine or ten, pr very low, like a 1 or 2, its why most of my characters that dump charisma all have “frontal lobe damage” despite stats that are 8 or 9 in other areas. His dialogue is so varied though, im very happy they recorded 14 lines for this, to make things interesting and fresh even nowadays when I replay. Lovely dialogue, lovely voice acting, lovely game
There's a mod out there that alters the dialogue logic in a way that it favors 9/10 stats over 1 stats, if I recall correctly. Nice if you're a min-maxer.
I like how Obsidian did something similar with the intro to the Outer World's when your picking your skills and Phineas comments on your skill point spending choices. One of my favorite lines is when you put intelligence at a low and he says something like " you're a few stars away from making a constellation".
It was definitely a nice touch , i feel like the game could have used some more depth though. Maybe it's because everyone expected it to be the next New Vegas, but there was no way the game could match that level .
I think he also says something like "Thank god I reached you before the board did" if you pick low intelligence, which is lucky because the board are incompetant and morally bankrupt but master manipulators
My favorite build that I've used in Outer Worlds is an equal-attributes build with a strong focus on the non-combat skills, especially Leadership. When I get Spacer's Choice Edition, those two skills are gonna be the first I bring to Virtuoso
strongly recommend doing a playthrough where your one single goal is to beat a deathclaw naked on Normal-Hardcore with your bare hands, and every single thing you do is in preparation for that. it is possible, but you need a lot of fucking drugs and a good few perks

it's not just a 10, it's also what your highest stat is, I had a 9 in INT and it was my highets special so I still got the 'guess them bullets did your brain some good'

I just made a 10 Charisma character a few weeks ago as an experiment, your companions are borderline invincible and do far more damage than you, I cleared Bonnie Springs and all the Cazadores on the way at level 3 with a 10mm pistol and Boone. By which I mean, I hid behind Boone and let him clear it.
I never realized this is bound to your stats, my usual strategy was to first max out my intelligence to 10 and he would always say something along the lines of "sometimes the bullet doesn't scramble your brain, it seems to have made you better"
It's supposed to increase your companion nerve, which gives your companions a big boost of damage and DT based on your Charisma. This is really powerful for companion-heavy builds. I say supposed to because it's bugged and doesn't actually do a goddamn thing
Out of all my builds I don't think I've ever maxed out Char or Agility before at the vigor tester . So that's what he says on those. Even an old deathclaw can find out something new to them I suppose. Thanks for doing this!
