I went to jail for a man beating me in front of my son and once I decided to fight back I went to jail and was charged for simply battery ❗️ but once they realized who the guy was and they saw his record they saw he had multiple charges of beating other females
The same thing happened to me. I was getting beat daily and one day the neighbors called the cops and the police arrested me because my abuser had a deep scratch on his face from me. All charges were dropped but I still spent 3 days in jail.
God bless you women. Happy you escaped with your lives. I've been in relationships like that and it ONLY escalates. I got an aggravated terroristic assault charge because I wouldn't let my abuser beat me! Watching them take pictures of him while I was in cuffs.... Be careful ladies AND men. 💕

Nah I don't think that's true. I'm a mother and an eldest child, there is no way I'm not going to not assume that a 17-19 year old around my 13 year old child is not having sex. Trial and error is ok, especially when it comes to finding someone you can talk to about your deepest feelings and emotions! It’s very important to connect and trust that person ! Take your time healing and do what you need to regardless of what other people say you should or shouldn’t do . Sadly it's very common in the African American community for a mom to instantly beat their daughters for being "fast" even though the situation was a R**e. They'll instantly think you're lying. I'm not saying every A.A. mother reacts that way. I'm just saying its common. I've even seen it happen before which is sad.
That's a "tradition" that needs to end. Despite claims to the contrary, physical punishment can as traumatic as sexual assault is. How many of us after being beaten wanted to take a belt to our parents' butts to "teach them a lesson"? I'd be lying if I said I never had such thoughts. Also, how can we have laws against assault and battery if those laws exclude children from legal protection? A self defense claim is the only exception to assault and battery that makes sense.

To those who ask why your loved ones do not open up about abuse, rape, et cetera: it isn't easy for victims of said abuse to be open about it instantly afterward. I was molested when I was eleven years old by my cousin. It took me until I turned 16 to tell my family what happened to me in full. I know how it feels to be abused and told to keep quiet about it.
My little sister is currently in an abusive relationship and my entire family has tried and tried to get her to let him go, but she's too dumb and stubborn. If she ever gets put in a situation like that, it's her fault. If you're in an abusive relationship, LEAVE!
Call the cops she's scared to leave does he have a job does he work cuz that'll be a good time for her to leave the house because you don't want to see her dead man I'm telling you
You can do everything in your power to remove her from that home, but if she doesn’t want to leave she won’t. Unfortunately there are times that cops won’t even do anything, unless there is physical evidence of abuse. But it would be up to her to press charges, and more times out of none, they usually drop the charges, or don’t press them at all. So then the abuser always comes back or doesn’t get arrested and the cops leave. I’ve seen it way too much. I will also say this, sometimes they want to leave, but they can’t and they won’t because they’re too scared to do so. They feel like they shouldn’t leave because they’ve been through so much together for so long. It’s also a pride thing, knowing that your family has been trying to take her out of that relationship, she might feel like she is being judged by your family. Which is very toxic and dangerous. I hope that she’s out of that relationship, giving that you commented this 4 months ago.
As someone who’s been in an abusive relationship that almost took my life....it’s not that easy. Even after I left she was still trying to hurt me. And even bruised my ribs. Speak on what you know, not other people’s experiences

The same thing happened to me. I was getting beat daily and one day the neighbors called the cops and the police arrested me because my abuser had a deep scratch on his face from me. All charges were dropped but I still spent 3 days in jail.

From personal experiences as a mother of a 16yo boy... I see teens online(my son's friends) who say their parents don't know ANYTHING about them. They don't care to. My son moderates on 2 servers with over 5ok users...and I was shocked to see ALL the porn, bullying, and suicide attempts and successes that revolve in and out of them. Most admitted to neglective parents.

Sadly it's very common in the African American community for a mom to instantly beat their daughters for being "fast" even though the situation was a R**e. They'll instantly think you're lying.
I'm not saying every A.A. mother reacts that way. I'm just saying its common. I've even seen it happen before which is sad.
That's a "tradition" that needs to end. Despite claims to the contrary, physical punishment can as traumatic as sexual assault is. How many of us after being beaten wanted to take a belt to our parents' butts to "teach them a lesson"? I'd be lying if I said I never had such thoughts. Also, how can we have laws against assault and battery if those laws exclude children from legal protection? A self defense claim is the only exception to assault and battery that makes sense.

To those who ask why your loved ones do not open up about abuse, rape, et cetera: it isn't easy for victims of said abuse to be open about it instantly afterward. I was molested when I was eleven years old by my cousin. It took me until I turned 16 to tell my family what happened to me in full. I know how it feels to be abused and told to keep quiet about it.
My little sister is currently in an abusive relationship and my entire family has tried and tried to get her to let him go, but she's too dumb and stubborn. If she ever gets put in a situation like that, it's her fault. If you're in an abusive relationship, LEAVE!
Call the cops she's scared to leave does he have a job does he work cuz that'll be a good time for her to leave the house because you don't want to see her dead man I'm telling you
You can do everything in your power to remove her from that home, but if she doesn’t want to leave she won’t. Unfortunately there are times that cops won’t even do anything, unless there is physical evidence of abuse. But it would be up to her to press charges, and more times out of none, they usually drop the charges, or don’t press them at all. So then the abuser always comes back or doesn’t get arrested and the cops leave.
I’ve seen it way too much.
I will also say this, sometimes they want to leave, but they can’t and they won’t because they’re too scared to do so. They feel like they shouldn’t leave because they’ve been through so much together for so long. It’s also a pride thing, knowing that your family has been trying to take her out of that relationship, she might feel like she is being judged by your family. Which is very toxic and dangerous. I hope that she’s out of that relationship, giving that you commented this 4 months ago.
As someone who’s been in an abusive relationship that almost took my life....it’s not that easy. Even after I left she was still trying to hurt me. And even bruised my ribs. Speak on what you know, not other people’s experiences
