- Quite a few folks have asked for an SOTC (state of the collection) video but I’d been putting it off because my channel isn’t really wristwatch focused, but I thought it’d be interesting to share my watches and the STORY of each one.

I love watches, especially mechanical watches because of what they represent, both literally (design, engineering, meticulous manufacturing, horological history), and figuratively - how we use them to tell the time and use any complications they have, but how they need us - our movement throughout the day - to keep the wound.
Since I use timepieces to mark special moments in time - whether they’re milestones, life changes, or paying homage to people, there’s a meaningful story behind each watch that I own.
I’d love to know: what watch do you have that’s meaningful to you?

This is how you collect watches, all have a purpose and meaning and mark milestones in your life. Well done, great content
Sometimes that’s blurred with “collecting” and i have learned to let go some pieces i bought cause i had to have it but have no meaning behind it those always leave the collection quickly
To share such a painful detail about your dad while honoring him with a beautiful object imbued with personal meaning was truly moving. Wishing you the best in all your endeavors. May your watch collection grow, bringing with it more happy memories
So nice to see a SOTC from someone that's interested in watches but isn't a "watch influencer" or a really wealthy celebrity. I feel like the influencers have some pressure to keep rotating watches for the sake of content and celebrities have so much money that they can just get watches on a whim (or are gifted them if their an ambassadors). Those SOTC's are fine to see different watches and people opinion on the watch as an object. But when someone has to spend months if not years saving up and planning for a watch, the collection that creates is truly unique and fascinating to watch.
Sorry to hear about your father's loss. It's lovely that you chose to immortalize his memory in such a beautiful and personal way. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for bringing more positivity into this world!
It was a cool story about the watch you got to celebrate your dad. Plus, the actual watch is very nice. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Beautiful Seiko Spring Drive!, and OMG the story behind the open heart Seiko watch made moved me, cheers and congrats!
True watch collector put value/story in every watch, no matter how much, or complicated, or brand, complication, etc.
True story teller.
Thank you for giving me inspiration! Well done!
The way you compose and arrange all the narrative n video editing is always amazed me. Really fun to watch but very informative. Awesome works 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Absolutely great video. I totally understand what you mean about knowing your father, while still not knowing his deeper sides. My greatest sympathies for your tragic loss.
Beautiful stories in each one of these pieces! Awesome collection!!
Your collection is absolutely fire! I love how each one of this pieces represents something very personal. My favorite is the Hamilton panda, is is the one watch I regret letting go, I may have to get it back one day!
This is so great, and thoughtful! Well done
Loved learning about the watches and hearing the stories!
Finally! I've been waiting for the watches!
Nice to hear the stories behind these lovely picks! I'm new to watches but I wish I had got one for my 100k plaque too, perfect way to celebrate it.
Great video brother, enjoyed the thoughtfulness behind each purchase. Will try to implement this strategy in my own life
lovely... I'd love to get a watch to remember my Dad as well. I love your philosophy!
This is an interest I share with you, Maurice. I really like Grand Seiko's Spring Drive movement. I'd have an Omiwatari.
That was beautiful, thanks for sharing ❤
Grand Seiko make some really lovely pieces, and the snowflake is such a classic. Thanks for sharing the what and why of your watches!
Awesome collection Maurice!
Very interesting video and great content!
Nice collection of stories and watches.
Dude, that is a very fine collection. Love the stories behind them.
Love your videos. I’ve been curious what other watches were in your collection!
Wonderful video Maurice
I picking a watch to get for reaching a financial milestone. I was thinking Marathon lately. But before that I was thinking about the intramatic. I never thought to get one at the passing of my father. Probably because he was always giving me a bad time about new watches coming to the house. He'd always say "you getting another watch." Sorry for your loss.
This was so dope!
The Snowflake is so beautiful!
Very thoughtful
Dang been waiting for this video mate! Time to put the kettle on
I love this video. I know at one point at least you've talked about using the apple watch for exercise. Are you still using that? Do you have any recommendations for wearing that alongside your collection of more traditional watches?
what a beautiful video
Gratz on your collect. Can't wait for your first Rolex. Every asian guy needs a Rolex.
That's a great way to collect watches.
Nice
nice taste
We have very similar taste in watches 😉🙏
Every watch should tell the time 😂
Where I get one of those turtles, please and thank you?
What do you do for work Maurice?
advertises useless garbage on youtube.
What are your thoughts on vintage Rolexes?
second?
First .?
That’s cool for you but every watch definitely does not need a story lol it’s not always that deep. Memories are made when watches are worn, anyway. You can get a watch to mark an occasion but if you don’t even wear it and make memories then it’s pointless. How about people just do what they want to do? Lol
So basically you carry your past in your wrist.. intreasting..
