She waited with the release because she didn’t feel it was the right time, but in 2020 she felt that the world needed this song (because of Covid) Now you need to react to the sister song to “Exist For Love”, which she wrote at the same time. This is also a love song, but seen from the other perspective. It’s called “A Potion For Love”, and I highly recommend the live performance at Vevo😍😍 Cute granddog❤️
As others have said, I'd suggest watching the music video, even if you don't record your reaction to it. It's really beautiful and right now no other video gets me from down do smiling faster then that one. This song always makes me think of my wife. Sometimes she asks me to play the guitar softly so she can forget her worries and fall asleep, and it just so happened that this is the song that relaxes her the most, that made me really happy! She has a gift for touching us deeply… it’s natural to cry when you are moved by the emotions she evokes. That decrescendo on “torn in half” just melts me.
I'd definitely recommend the music video and studio version of this song. It's one of the few Aurora songs that I recommend the studio version/music video as well. The video is just stunning, and the studio version has an amazing bass drum that gives it a very nostalgic feel. But this version is amazing too. I love that every single member is singing, and doing it so beautifully. I'm glad you chose a lighter song as I suggested on the last video. This is one of the only love songs she has ever written. There are some very inspiring, and uplifting Aurora songs, too. I hope you get to react to more of them.
At one of her concerts I was at she sang this one. There was a marriage proposal in the middle of the room. Everyone moved aside, she stopped and congratulated them and continued singing for them. It was a magical moment.
The style of this song always reminds me of Snow White’s vocals in the 1937 Disney film as well as the type of singing found in the Marx Brothers movies in the 1930’s. Aurora’s official music video is also reminiscent of the Busby Berkeley film productions of the same period (fan dancers!!). Such an interesting and beautiful throwback love song.
Although she often sings about love, this is her only "love song." If you think it sounds retro in this live performance, wait until you see the official music video. You might go back further than even the '40s!.
