It always amazes me when people wipes the jar rims, debubbles them, and then puts the lids on. That is a great way to get debris on the the rims. Debubble the jar and then clean the jar rim with white vinegar. Just common sense.
No, don't toss those lids, they are good to vacuum seal dehydrated foods in jars, x correct you can't Water Bath or pressure can with them but vac seal the jars they work great!!!
I put my jars in old socks, so they don't rattle and break and when done just lay them out in sun and they dry and are ready for next time. Those old lids can be used for making pickles or mild peppers, anything with vinegar.
That is NOT a recent change. Ball has ALWAYS said their jars are not meant to be heated in the oven. You are incorrect. Please contact Newell/Ball or any of its derivatives for verification. Please edit the video because as such, You are offering incorrect and dangerous practices to new and inexperienced canners.
I use my water bath canner , put water in it then fill all my jars and bring it to a boil for ten minutes. Then when it’s ready I empty one jar at a time and fill with my product. Then put each jar back in the water and when all jars are filled I process them . I fill that’s the best way for me .
Good video but we can definitely do without the extremely annoying music in the background, it's distracting plus if you're hard of hearing as I am makes it harder to hear voices, which is why we're watching the video
IT DRIVES ME CRAZY! I don’t know why every video maker on UA-cam thinks they have to have a Hollywood production with aggravating music/noise in the background. SMost of the time it’s so loud you can’t even hear what they are saying. It’s like a fly buzzing around annoying everyone. STOP IT! Just the facts, please, ma’am. No need for silly noise in the background.
Placing jars in the oven to heat is NOT recommend by the manufacturer's. It damages the integrity of the glass. I would expect more valid and verified advice from an extension office.

If the background music was not so loud.
Thank you! Yes, this was one of my first videos and I agree with you.

Can you put cinnamon and vanilla extract in the syrup while making the syrup to add favor.?????????? New to canning
Ever canned whole cored apples?
Thanks for this video, I wasn't sure if the jars needed to be covered in water.
Yes for a water bath canner you need at least 2 inches over the jars. For a pressure canner you only need about an inch of water in the bottom.
Jars are NOT meant to be in the oven according to Ball. They are only meant for wet heating not dry.
You are correct. The rule for heating the jars to sanitize them changed recently.

@@wvg4800 Cook's Country, America's Test Kitchen -- they don't use music either, which is one reason I like them.
@@TheBobelly628 stop being negative. If you don’t like it don’t watch or listen.
