Happy New year Eddy, would love to see you carry on with the videos of the South Tyneside towns. With your channel growing so fast I hope local councillors will recognise how much more work needs to go in to improving our smaller towns. Keep up the good work!
Happy new year Eddie. I think Kim McGuiness should be making this arena/conference centre happen, as it will bring in a lot of money and prestige to the north east. Currently, we miss out on lots of major conferences that always seem to be in Manchester,Liverpool, Birmingham and Glasgow. Build it and they will come!
Happy new year to you both mate! Thank you for all your hard work and great videos last year and looking forward to all the content you will be releasing in 2025!

I come from Chasetown in Staffordshire, but I’ve worked in Newcastle back in the late 90s to early 2000s the main job was the old Binns store on Grainger Street we entered the site from the Big Market and many a happy hour or two was spent in the Beehive,, your UA-cam channel brings many happy memories thank you keep them coming, I’m retired now but intend to visit again before I’m done we used to stay in Royal Hotel in Whitley Bay I’m getting carried away now so I’ll shut up thanks again
Eddy, you are one of the best UA-camrs out there, I love your content. I like the direction you are going in with the channel and with the Newcastle Utd UA-cam community absolutely flooded with channels right now, I think it's a good decision to step back a little from that coverage (even though you were my first port of call for NUFC content). Keep up the good work mate and happy new year to you, Helen and those fantastic dogs of yours. 👍👍😊😊

Happy New Year Eddie. Great content as always. I appreciate the direction transition and it is to your credit. I find these videos extremely interesting. My dad’s side of the family are from the area. It’s great for me to learn about this fantastic part of the world. 🙏
Hi Eddy, just moved to Newcastle a few months ago and would love to see a video of the best parks/green spaces in the city (when the weather is better) or some of the best city walks to do in the Tyneside area for visitors or newcomers like myself, cheers!
Leaze's park next to St James's park is a lovely place for a walk, it includes a nice little coffee shop called the Towers café next to the lake, there's also Jesmond dene just outside of town, easy to reach via bus or car if you drive.
Love the channel mate and the direction you’ve taken it. I don’t get to come up to Newcastle very often unfortunately as a Newcastle fan whose family is from the toon I love the city and your channel keeps me connected to things going on and happening in the city
Thanks for this video Eddie as always, hope you Helen had a lovely Christmas and new years. Take care and looking forward to more. Here’s to walking more. Stay blessed bud. Howay the lads 2-1 Tottenham as we speak. 💪🏴
Just want to say that I enjoy your channel. You won me over last year due to your coverage of the protests in the West End. I hope you have recovered from your illness, watch what you are doing pal. All the best for 2025, I hope you reach 100k subs on your own terms.
Happy new Gregorian year to you and Helen. It’s been a while since I have been on the Quayside, what’s all that awful coloured brick work and are cars now ‘not allowed’ to drive there now?
Happy new year Eddy, I've been subbed since the start of your channel & love most of your content just not football. Hopefully one day I might bump into you in town. 😁
Hi and all the best eddy ..a story an old guy told when I was a young apprentice in Newcastles 1951 to 55 fa cup run was fans in the shipyards took a boat out the yard on the Friday to go to the final followed the coast down to London for one of the finals not sure which one but could not get back in time for Monday morning might be a good thing to look in too
Like Newcastle as a city and always follow the Newcastle's results, although they are not my team. I agree with you Eddy Howe is a very good manager. Would like an update on the obstructive wally who owns the strip of land and the row of houses out the back of the stadium. Keep up the great content and keep well

I kept an eye out for you outside Old Trafford the other night. Didn't see you, but I saw and heard plenty more of you after the game outside the ground and in town. When is your trophy parade? ;-)
Hi Eddy, Happy New Year from a very cold Edinburgh! You are right about construction costs. As an accountant involved in development, I have seen them skyrocket post-COVID. Quite a few big projects in Newcastle are currently mothballed due to viability issues. Interesting you have been digging into the shareholdings/power struggles at NUFC...football finance is always riddled with controversy, especially given the recent Man City revelations, with the verdict due very soon. ATB Mike
I will definitely be interested in the new arena video, it has been in the works for so long yet nothing has progressed. Anywhere else in the country I think it would of already been up. Frustrating as our current arena is poor compared to other city’s, still can’t understand why they only plan on going to 12,500 as well, let’s try & compete with the other big city’s & go 15,000 or more!! Wonder if PIF/Sela can help? 😂
Eddy, thanks for the content, I particularly enjoy your food reviews. There used to be a food writer called Secret Diner who specialised in the North East restaurant scene - published in the local press - but I’ve not seen or heard anything for a few years. You’re taking over!
Thank you for the local news eddy. And yes I agree history is very important. So is culture. I got the flyer bridge video pop up that's how I am watching And something chimed. I had watched a video on the history of our towns. I think it's important.
Suggestions for video: perhaps top ten things to do. I left Northumberland back in 2007 and have only been back once in 2014. Flights are booked and back in mid-May, 2 weeks of the 4 around home. Plus how to get tickets for the toon match on 25th of may lol.
Hi Eddy, covering some of the more interesting trials at the Crown Court would be good, for instance the guy up for the 64 million pound fraud.keep up the good content Eddy and Happy New Year and good health for the year ahead.👍👍
Hi Eddy, been following you a few years now, I would love to see some videos of Now & Then where you could show us the changing face of the North East using old photographs combined with how the growth and expansion has changed the face of the North East, I would think it could be a fantastic thing to look and and hear about, I would love to see that from you and I would like to think many many others would love to see it and maybe remissness as I think we all love looking back through the years of are fantastic Geordie History, just a thought Eddy but do keep up the fantastic work you do its more appreciated than you think bud.
found my 1974 scarf which had the colours of the Brazil strip they called it when we went to The Hawthorns on the 16th of February a74 then to Burnden park in 1976. got Black, White, Green and Yellow in the scarf, still wearing it today
Happy new year eddy .what about gateshead council and the infrastructure of surroundings going to rack and ruin where is all the money going because there's no signs of improvements to the areas upkeep and to social housing needs updating .and of course the toon mate
Gateshead council and indeed most Northern councils had their budgets cut by up to a half in some cases..over the last decade or so,. leading to staff being made redundant, closures of many council services/buildings, whilst need for spending up here on essential services has increased. The bigger picture is that since austerity Tory/Lib dem coalition years the North has been starved of funds. There are plans to redistribute some funds from more wealthy southern areas... i.e places like Richmond. In other words local funds are determined by national policies
Last year, we had a Metro pub crawl and it was brilliant. Good fun and if you’re doing one this year Eddy, I’d be happy to get involved. My channel recently surpassed 1,000 subscribers 🎉 The video I made about the Metro pub crawl six months ago has over 3,100 views! 🤯
Have you been to Geordie Gifts in the Newcastle Grainger Market. The owner Craig, may have some Geordie history for you? If not, would still make a good video. Lots of Footy gifts.
Please investigate the flyover and find out the truth. How much has been spent on repair? Is it true that the council have motivation to just get rid of the flyover due to their 'redevelopment' and gentrification of the highstreet?
I wouldn’t call it gentrification but there are plans to regenerate the run down and empty end of the HIgh St with new housing and businesses. I don’t see anything wrong with that. The demolition of the flyover later this decade was all part of the new town centre infrastructure plans. The lack of maintenance to the bridge drainage systems has caused catastrophic short term problems and may mean the acceleration of the demolition 👍🏻
@TynesideLife The reason it's gentrification is soon the flats surrounding the civic centre will be brought down. Flats like Warwick Court, namely housing homeless people and people with convictions or mental health issues by Gateshead council. They are now moving these people elsewhere in the borough or even further afield. Sorry but that's gentrification, not even touching on the pressure the council have placed on locals who own properties and businesses on Gateshead council to sell up, what will they be replaced with? The same chain restaurants everywhere else.
Can't see the old foal music hall happening Eddie with the infrastructure being substantially dreadful, the four bridges that you can walk on are all in need of major repairs and now the flyover shambles. Why do you need a concert venue next to what the council describes as a " World class venue for music" in the Sage?
Subscribed Eddy. I see you're on the banks of the Tyne. Have you ever considered doing a video on Tynesides great world champion oarsmen ? James Renforth was the world champion sculler in 1868.
