I don't get it, why not just Who ever Calls an Elevator, that's THEIR elevator, when it goes down, it returns to whom ever originally called it. So, if Joe Calls the Elevator, and Sam sends it down, then what ever is on the pad goes to Joe. If Sam wants stuff, then he needs to call it. Wouldn't that fix al lot of this Joe calls it and Sam sends it down so Sam gets the stuff. That just seems, broken and problem ridden.
The highlight of the last week for me was the ISC episode where Jared pulled out the 'early days' card for an aspect of jump points and gameplay between systems. For those who haven't been watching this dance since the beginning we've been hearing every year since Citizencon 2016 that we would get more star systems 'next year', and that CIG are professionals with comprehensive plans.... and 8 years later Jared wants us to accept that they haven't actually started working on this stuff yet at the end of year 12 of development. Lol, hilarious.

I feel you went into it thinking it would be a few years and done. They are working the long game. They are just now testing the tech that will let first person MMOs go beyond 1-2 hundred users on the same game world. @Greg99rock
@@Greg99rockGo play actual space games, like Elite Dangerous yes even for all its flaws, it's still a game at least. No Man's Sky. House of the Dying Sun is a neat little dogfight sim with very cool audio. Everspace 2 was a bit insipid for me, but tons of people love it as an arcade casual space rpg. Then, come back to star citizen if CIG arent bankrupt yet in 5-10 years. It'll still be a buggy mess by then, virtually no way to fix that. By that time old spaghetti code will be so bad that it'll have to be redone... Again. But hey there should at least be... Hi Mike. I don't think by shotgun is meant the movement of ships after passing the jump point. I think it means "landing area" So the area in question is the specific area of the landing spot where the jumping party will appear. And the given position in the given diameter will be random. Imagine a shot from a shotgun. The entire landing area is actually the impact area of individual projectiles, and a group will appear in one of the projectile locations. And the choice of location will be random. So the group of ships will be together, far enough away to avoid bumping into each other, and at a random location on the diameter of the given landing area. If I compare it to EVE online, after jumping through a gate in EVE you are at a certain random position and distance around the gate. In a kind of 3D bubble. But in SC it won't be a bubble, but a more like 2D area (maybe with some depth to be 3D - like low cylinder) with a certain diameter.
Gonna comment to bump this, as there's a lot of misunderstanding around this feature and this is how it seems like it's gonna work. To word it a different way, your jump group comes out together in a cluster (with enough space that you won't hit each other) somewhere random around the jump point on the other side. So someone can't camp the exit point because it's random, but you also won't have to fly to find your friends because your group comes out together. It sounds like a decent system.
only issue with the argo raft is it is really hard to load 32scu size containers into it, it can be done but its really really hard, every other size is really easy
Agreed, I love the RAFT so much but wish it was a little easier. Also they need to double its capacity. I feel like they could easily double stack to make it 192 SCU

all that work on fire and no work on fire suppression systems. You would have people to respond to fires on larger vessels, but there should have been some sort of automatic system built in and I feel like they didn't bother to think ahead. Hopefully its performant...
We should be able to buy an auto extinguisher system for the ship, just in case you are a solo player, in a fight with a panel alerting you there is a fire and you are still in a fight, push the button and fire is handled for now. We already have open exterior doors if a fire happens in the cargo bay, so that is handled. I want a floor mini-rover ball surrounded with fire extinguishers to toss and douse just guild it with your Mobi glass "A,W,S,D" keys until it runs out until destroyed. A consumable. If I toss a box outside in the grass will a wildfire happen? Or if I toss a box outside on the snow can we use it to warm ourselves like a campfire, yeah large boxes equals Bonfire. @25:26 All on Red? Roulette name of a ship? lol maybe a "Gambit"
I would have hoped that development pace would increase at a much faster rate as many of the systems are further developed along with the assets. But no, development is going at the same snail pace where an added features takes 3 years at a minimum to be released in a broken state.
nah, if they'd sold furniture on the store there would've been some backlash. They knew what they were doing by putting all of in the game for credits.
Mike if this is the product "an alpha" CIG NEEDS to get rid of more bugs before each release. There are so many bugs that anyone who thinks they are "helping" with bugs must be wrong unless CIG is using a bugless build.
The jump point rings really should not be abandoned by CIG. They should at the very least be player built/placed structures for transient wormholes allowing them to extend the wormholes life keeping it there or indefinitely if kept active with maybe a fuel source by players/corps. There is no reason to completely abandon the rings. Players want them.
I don’t get to play often but I do watch these patch updates. A small ask Mike if you can show in small print underneath the *[ PATCH UPDATE ]* an version indicator like i.e.. _PTU~3.24.x_• _PU~3.23.x_
I don't mind the clips but I thought you weren't doing extended cuts anymore. Too much good info in there? Thanks for the content and keeping to pre-roll ads on twitch.
Why cant they just make the "SCM" and "NAV" "modes" change automatically based on speed? They just added an extra step to accelerate. Sneak peek has a crusader-esque feel. Personal hangar furniture should 100% be sold in the store. I agree with you 100%. I currently own all the hangar flair from way back during voyager direct days. But it would be a great way to get funding, has no impact on gameplay, and gives players a way to express themselves without affecting anything OUTSIDE of their hangars.
It'd be a bit unfortunate to be in a dogfight and accidentally hold the forward thrust button a second too long while maneuvering and to have your shields and weapons power down..
I hope they use this rework of the website to put a simple "Buy the game" button shining on the front page ! You push this thing and you choose between an aurora or a mustang. You can add an extra 20 for premium bundle with an armor set with an 100i or a cutter ... Something simple ! So that we stop explaining they don't need to put 1k dollar in the game to be able to play it or "No you cannot choose this ship because their is no game included" ... You have access to the pledge store only when you have the game, period.
How do I ever get a large ship for cargo hauling? Can't play 8 hours a day and with bugs and everything it's hit or miss I can make a decent amount of money in a few hour session. And by the time I finally make the money there most likely will be a wipe. I'd rather not spend irl money but at least I guess I'd never loose the ship?
As a developer, I know that once a VERY COMPLEX project passes a certain threshold... And bugs are still many and challenging throughout the existing codebase... Then you may end up in a situation of "Jenga Bugs"... I.e. fixing one bug introduces many more in highly unexpected ways! The only sure fire solution in this situation... Is to rebuild the entire codebase from scratch! Testing each bit of the codebase thoroughly, before committing to the new build! But this will take TIME of course! Potentially a LOT of time! But... You will pay down the technical debt of the new build and hopefully have a MUCH more stable system, from which to develop further!
I'd be happy if at citizencon they just show a working live build with: ai blades, retuned master modes, scanning rework, longer range ship weapons. Player movement V2, and all spawn locations next to the hanger spawns( death to train rides ) it adds no gameplay, just extra wait times.
Just gotta add that I agree regarding the furniture as funding. I feel like I comment this almost every week, but we need SC to move in the direction of selling furniture/cosmetics and incorporate a skin system ASAP. The longer we go without the more it's going to hurt when the bandaid gets ripped off. And if it never does, RIP any kind of meaningful accomplishment in this game.
I agree, but I don't think it's time yet, because until we can make meaningful customization of our own habs/hangars/ships and we can get some of that cool stuff in-game through quests/missions and in-game stores, I'd feel pretty shitty about it ALL being locked behind a paywall. Though maybe they could make it work in a fair way with everything they have currently.
@@Anonnymouse53 But that's exactly why I said they need to prioritize it. You're going to get used to it all being in-game earnable, and then as time goes on, if they make the switch, it's just going to upset more people. Also I'm never saying everything should be on the store....not at all. We should be able to earn a fair supply of cosmetics in-game. But the project needs money and it also needs to not destroy its own gameplay...and continuing to sell the main means of tangible progression on the store is not a good future.
Really hope we get some cargo that will stay safe such as metal ore, and hope they dont despawn items when broken by fire, make the ship items just take damage, change your electronics cargo commodity change to a ruined state so we have to eject the trash. But the flammable games explode and make more hazard.
Sometimes I don't get you guys. If them sell furniture for money you would probably complaint about it. Now that they didn't do it, you said they should have done it.
I love forced reactions, one of my peeves in shooters is blasting a shotgun into someone at nearly point blank and them just bunny hopping, strafing or sliding away with some stupid animation, and spraying some smg the whole time because there is no fear of death suppression isn't a thing but if slowdown and knockback are in then rushers cant be so sure of closing a gap
CIG: It has no benefit to players except as aesthetic? No no, that’s bought in game with credit. It has huge power creep? Yes my boy, sell that for 💵 🤦♂️
I cant really condemn or condone the recent progress on star citizen with 4.0 and Squadron 42 allegedly being around the corner. Really the delivery on those two things is the only thing I care about right now. If those come out and are actually good then I will continue supporting SC. If not, I'll probobly delete the game and check back in in a decade or so.
How do you have a “Feature Complete” game without control surfaces.. been here since 2019 and I’m starting to think none of this will come to fruition. Hopefully I will eat my words some day
Gotta love that half the bugs reported as fixed aren’t fixed lol. I actually don’t care at all about any updates, teases, or even citizencon. Who cares what they show us, half of it probably wont even come to the verse.
I think they call them hydra bugs, where they fix them on one build but then the bug is caused by something else completely when they test on the next build. They have issues fixing the core of the game. It has 12 years of different coders all over it.
Been saying to myself all along we will be lucky if whatever CIG finally shoves out the door that it will be playable and fun before they go home for Christmas break. Think about that for a moment that is only a little over 4 months away and with CIG's track record it will be a buggy mess and dumpster fire until they come back and start fixing it sometime in quarter 1 or 2 in 2025. Prove me wrong CIG. o7 😎👍
For better or worse, I really do think 2025 is going to be “the year” for SC. And what I mean by that is: Either 1) CIG will finally get server meshing figured out, 2) they’ll start putting out tangible goals for the road to 1.0 & hitting them more reliably, and 3) SQ42 will start advertising more publicly… OR, I think this whole project will be in serious trouble.
This week in star citizen: we wasted more of your money playing with fire.. join us next week while we shovel shit against the wall and see what sticks!!
Get this straight Mike. In jumps between lawless systems there should NOT be a safe zone! There's a shortage of areas that are funnels for trapping and pirating players as Is! Gates are a perfect spot. In lawless and low sec Gates there needs to be weak or no security. It is supposed to be a RISK to travel to the points when moving goods. There needs to be limited routes they can take and some must go through lawless space. Gate camps WILL be a thing, and there's no reason for it to be non-existent.
I think only ships should be on the store. Can't complain about not having anything to spend credits on and want the one decent thing for it to be on the store -_-
You assume there is a % roll on fire starting? Thats entirely wrong, there is a guarantee if you reach a certain temp it will catch fire. Nothing is random about that
They realise the game will never have enough meaningful content to keep the players occupied so they put these time sinks to keep you busy, manually loading and unloading one box at a time? Fire extinguisher in the ship but no automatic fire suppression system?

If I toss a box outside in the grass will a wildfire happen? Or if I toss a box outside on the snow can we use it to warm ourselves like a campfire, yeah large boxes equals Bonfire.
@25:26 All on Red? Roulette name of a ship? lol maybe a "Gambit"
Fire suppression as part of ship design soon TM. Fire as a feature is another busy work feature.
Fire looks amazing - worried about the performance impact, though.
wow the amount of bugs is crazy o.o , glad they are fixing it but dam i wonder why there is soo much bugs
The only lifestyle Magic Spoon doesn't cover...is budget conscious.
The sneak peek is probably that crusader starter ship
Mike if this is the product "an alpha" CIG NEEDS to get rid of more bugs before each release. There are so many bugs that anyone who thinks they are "helping" with bugs must be wrong unless CIG is using a bugless build.
The jump point rings really should not be abandoned by CIG. They should at the very least be player built/placed structures for transient wormholes allowing them to extend the wormholes life keeping it there or indefinitely if kept active with maybe a fuel source by players/corps.
There is no reason to completely abandon the rings. Players want them.
Mike next time try to send the elevator without moving items in your store just buzz the button for send it down
I don’t get to play often but I do watch these patch updates. A small ask Mike if you can show in small print underneath the *[ PATCH UPDATE ]* an version indicator like i.e.. _PTU~3.24.x_• _PU~3.23.x_
Great job on getting these videos out, you’re my indicator that today is Monday… cuz I work from home and days are busy and jumbled up
I don't mind the clips but I thought you weren't doing extended cuts anymore.
Keep up the fight Salte but this cycle just sucks. Great time for you to take a much deserved vacation.
If you get a CS on the Pyro side of the jump point, how do you clear it so you can go back to Stanton. Are you just stuck?
It's a lawless system there are no crimes stats
Man i heavily mod Skyrim and just that makes me wanna pull my teeth out and its not even coding. I couldn't imagine how SC devs feel.
I'd be happy if at citizencon they just show a working live build with: ai blades, retuned master modes, scanning rework, longer range ship weapons. Player movement V2, and all spawn locations next to the hanger spawns( death to train rides ) it adds no gameplay, just extra wait times.
yeah, not gunna happen
@@zarbonthedestroyer7232 I know, :,) sometimes I just set myself up for disappointment
@psychokevv we all have hahaha. That's why we're here.
But the project needs money and it also needs to not destroy its own gameplay...and continuing to sell the main means of tangible progression on the store is not a good future.
when I saw the ship elevator ... i was ok still too broken ...
As much as I want to make jokes I've been wanting the website update for a long time.
I want to empty my wallet on a working good looking website.
Best comment ever!!
I think the sneak peek is a crusader spirit in flight mode.
Spirit is in game. This is a sneak peak of an unannounced ship. It definitely looks crusader-esque to me
Really hope we get some cargo that will stay safe such as metal ore, and hope they dont despawn items when broken by fire, make the ship items just take damage, change your electronics cargo commodity change to a ruined state so we have to eject the trash. But the flammable games explode and make more hazard.
Gases*
Thanks Mike!
Pic is a fire extinguisher ship ;-D
Fire might not start straight away from normal firearms, but what if they release a flamethrower pistol
They really need to let players catch on fire bruh lol just add the flame effect on them it just looks funny
Sometimes I don't get you guys. If them sell furniture for money you would probably complaint about it. Now that they didn't do it, you said they should have done it.
Tks!
The mission is broken ... "The experience was really good!"
WTF SaltieMike? How low the bar has fallen.
I wonder how fire will work on ships that don't have an interior, such as the hornet.
Nobody hears you scream in space.
Swear in discord is another matter...
I want larger and stronger vtol on the raft...
CIG: It has no benefit to players except as aesthetic? No no, that’s bought in game with credit.
It has huge power creep? Yes my boy, sell that for 💵 🤦♂️
It's another micheal monday
Maybe we should change the format to a month in review.
I feel this exact way. That's their last shot in my eyes for them to break the reputation that it's a scam game.
How do you have a “Feature Complete” game without control surfaces.. been here since 2019 and I’m starting to think none of this will come to fruition.
Hopefully I will eat my words some day
Piclotof great wording hahahahaha :-D
Magic Spoon FTW!!
tease looks like a Crusader style winglet?
Gotta love that half the bugs reported as fixed aren’t fixed lol. I actually don’t care at all about any updates, teases, or even citizencon. Who cares what they show us, half of it probably wont even come to the verse.
I think they call them hydra bugs, where they fix them on one build but then the bug is caused by something else completely when they test on the next build. They have issues fixing the core of the game. It has 12 years of different coders all over it.
@@rageice1 spaghetti code. I dont think they’ll ever be able to make it work as intended
And what I mean by that is:
Either 1) CIG will finally get server meshing figured out, 2) they’ll start putting out tangible goals for the road to 1.0 & hitting them more reliably, and 3) SQ42 will start advertising more publicly…
OR, I think this whole project will be in serious trouble.
Lol
bro, that sneak peek can't be Drake....too shiny. We would never have something that nice looking.
Not even CIG knows what game they are building. What do you know about jump gates?
Aw so build the game to YOUR play style.
I think only ships should be on the store. Can't complain about not having anything to spend credits on and want the one decent thing for it to be on the store -_-
the fire is so ridiculous. What is burning? Are they making these ships out of wood and paper?
You assume there is a % roll on fire starting? Thats entirely wrong, there is a guarantee if you reach a certain temp it will catch fire. Nothing is random about that
The progress tracker was a gimmick. what will they bring now?
They realise the game will never have enough meaningful content to keep the players occupied so they put these time sinks to keep you busy, manually loading and unloading one box at a time? Fire extinguisher in the ship but no automatic fire suppression system?
I fear we are seeing the results of the firing of older more experienced developers of this game....
So....At the end of the Day....Meh. Back to FO4 and touching grass and enjoying the Summer.
Slow progress continues.
Yea. No surprise
