- Did you ever think about what would happen if you met Preston Garvey for the first time only after you needed to build the teleporter to the Institute in Fallout 4? To find out, I started a new game and left the vault. This time, I decided to put off saving Preston Garvey until later. So, I went on to complete other quests. After a while, I reached the point in the story where I needed to build the teleporter, and to do this, I finally went to Preston Garvey. I saved him from raiders and started a conversation with him.

I love how this game has dialogue options for almost every single situation
It's insane
It's mostly for show. Many dialogue options don't impact the quest outcome or rewards. I remember Fallout 3 being different in this.
If you are surprised about the dialog options of fallout 4, try the other games. Fallout 4 is the fallout with less rpg elements, like dialogues that affect the story.

@DonnachaSweeney gameplay is good, polished gunplay and feels addictive to me to control, but I have little to no connection to the characters.
Genuinely thought the Gunners were raiders and only realized that they were in fact two different factions because of Macready's quest.
Tldr: gunplay good, story mid.

Preston crosses the bridge to sanctuary expecting a ruined town in need of help but finds a thriving community that has enough resources to care for the whole ass commonwealth
And Sturges will still say you're welcome anytime (at Sanctuary. That settlement thief).

If you climb the roof of the church, you can make the jump onto the vertibird and grab the power armor without ever meeting preston, too
also if you don’t have any fusion cores, all you need is 6 strength and you can pull the minigun off the vertibird

Tbh this probably would have been the better way to introduce the minutemen. Doesnt take very long to get to this point in the story. Could just have red rocket and sanctuary as the only settlements until this point, then you meet preston and do a few missions for him before you are able to actually build the teleporter. Perhaps sturges is being held ransom somewhere and once you find him, you get a few more settlements and the teleporter.

Well I’m currently playing the game, I haven’t talked to Garvey until after the nuka world dlc, but bcz of that I can’t access diamond city as the main gate is closed and piper wont talk on the intercom so I’m SOL

honestly, this kind of playthrough is worth it just to not be harassed about settlements.
Look preston, it's either you fight off raiders for weeks on end, or I join them in unaliving you with the help of a mod....

This is bullshit. They went in for dialog of different situations. But barely any dialog choices and ass weapons.
What is wrong with you lol you waffle on so much in every single short 😂 you can literally skip to the very last two seconds to actually get the line of dialogue the short is made for
Might as well join the Railroad, cause all paths in FO4 are railroaded
