Is that all you know about me?
@@moldova7857 i know lot about you now.. give thanks Mr History ! .....also Russia is coming for you next.
@@cros420 Thank you, i hope they won't do bombings
@@moldova7857 (sorry for the late response cause I was doing something very important) no
@@moldova7857 Very Sad, Stay Safe..We LOVe Moldova 🇲🇩 & Ukraine 🇺🇦
Everytime you say "..and we wish it ALL the best" it feels like watching The Hunger Games again
Great video, thank you so much. This channel is so underrated, these videos are so informational and education. You did such a good job explaining all that in such a short amount of time!❤💛 💙🇲🇩💙💛❤
I suggest changing the title to "the history of the republic of moldova" because you cant talk about moldovan history without talking about alexandru ioan cuza and the union of 1859. It is misleading. Someone who is not familiar with the history of this region would think that the republic of moldova is the continuator of medieval moldova
This channel is super underrated
It is a beautiful country with picture perfect churches, it is the poorest country in Europe, people are great, it is one of the cheapest county to for travel.
Very interesting and some attractive images.
Moldova is neutral, according to its constitution, which given its location and history seems very prudent.
If you’re moldovan and you’re reading this I would like to politely ask what does the majority of moldova’s population think about a reunification with romania? I don’t want to be offensive and sound dumb but since you guys were part of romania and speak romanian why aren’t you reunited again with them? It’s there a big linguistic or cultural difference that makes you culturally and ethnically different from romanians in general?
I'm not Moldovan but east German. the huge difference in strength of economy, especially given that romania is already struggling with poverty and corruption itself, as well as some cultural differences that arose during soviet occupation make reunification difficult. Your opinion on it would likely depend on whether you are willing to pay the price, on how much you value unification ideologically in and of itself.
The problem in this case isn't the people refusing to unite I'd say quite the opposite most actively seek unification and the few who do oppose it accept it's basically inevitable
The only real problem the economic difference between Moldova and Romania if the unification happened it would be a big hit for Romania and while worth it in the long run it would take a bit once both nation grow a bit things should be pretty set in stone
I also want to mention that if a serious conflict in Ukraine does begin unification is imminent
To address the two main questions (the one about the majority and the other about us not being reunited again with them :
1) From my personal experience I would say that about 60% are seeking reunification meanwhile the 40% doesn't (most of them being native Russian language speakers that see Romania as their "Fri-enemies")
2) Well, if you should know a thing or two about the Russians then that thing is that they have an obsssnsion for russification, more specifically, russifying people who aren't the same culture or don't speak the same language as them. This process happened both between 1812-1918 (under the rule of Imperial Russia) but most notably and influentally (BY FAR) between 1940-1991. In this period the language of the Moldovan SSR was on paper "the Moldovan one" which was basically Romanian but with Cyrillic characters. HOWEVER, in that timespan the russian language was spoken by over 90% of our population.
Basically, to put it short (since the answer is very complex) **SOVIET UNION. RUSSIAN LANGUAGE. NO ROMANIAN LITTERATURE. PROPAGANDA AND THE CREATION OF THE IDEA THAT MOLDOVANS ARE SEPERATE FROM ROMANIANS.**
That is why to this day were not unified with Romania and it's sure depressing as it sounds
also I'd be awkward to be unified with a country that has "peace-keepers" from a certain cyka blyat country
@@Dovidius You think that there’s a realistic possibility that eventually both countries reunite? Or you think that the tendency is to both keep distancing themselves?
I love this guy
In what language is this video made, Australian, American or maybe New Zealandian?
English English, from the sound of it (although Mr History is based in Australia)
@@131alexa than it is Romanian language, not Moldovan
Yes, Moldova. As a Romanian I have to say that listening to "Moldovenii s-au născut" while drunk automatically makes you Moldavian until you wake up.
hiii
thanks for the great videos
can u make a video about The Yemen
Love how quick these are. If you nerds want longer, get to the fvcking library lol
A Super quick history of a Super quick history of a Super quick history of Mr History.
I want a super quick history of Switzerland
Interesting to know that modern day Moldova evolved from Bessarabia.
Next is the place packed full of casinos, F1 racing cars and rich royals… the principality of Monaco! 🇲🇨
Monaco is going to be an interesting one
@@zebraz3839 It sure will.

Nice map and great video.
Romania next?
Damn im early
Please can you do an exception and move forward Ukraine ? i know your working in alphabetical order and absolutely love your work...A quick history fix is better then meth !
If you wonder why Moldova is a independent nation well the quickest way I can summarize it
When Moldova gained its independence from the ussr they decided to stay independent rather than be part of Romania
Bc since it was a part of the ussr it became very Russiafied (no offense to Moldovans)
And the last reason is bc there were already non Moldovan (Slavs) living there and didn’t want reunification so Moldova stayed independent
(Note this comment is not supposed to offend anyone I did research on why Moldova is independent)
Lol what? I don't get how this is supposed to be offending, your answer is spot on
@@Dovidius idk I just felt like someone is going to insult me for some reason
its not offending unless a romanian sees it
@@zebraz3839 ah, unfortunate for you to think that
Slavs are not the only non Moldovans that lived in Bessarabia/Moldova…
you shoud be abel to finnish the monaco episode fast concidering its history is probably less than 2 minutes
0:09 Kosovo: Nonexistent 😿
Serbia: Satisfied 😌
(Serbia believes that Kosovo is apart of Serbia which is shown in this map)
Pls turkey
mold-ova
am i funny yet
what da hell dude if you did some real research you would have found out that there is no moldovan language, it's written in Moldova's constitution that its official language is romanian, and even though there is moldovan citizenship Moldova and Romania are so close one to eachother especially because we are the same people, we share the same traditions, language and at some point we even got united. The fact that we are a separate nation and that we speak a different language from Romanian was hardly promoted by the soviets between 1944-1991 so yeah, things aren't as simple as they look, especially when it comes to Moldova
And next is the land of foreign rich gamblers where it is illegal for natives to gamble! Its Monaco 🇲🇨
You forget transitria
2:42
Ukrainians must give us Bukovina in the north of Moldova and south region that neighbours with the Black sea, these territories were given to them from Moldova by USSR.
''like that of romania''
Romania-thats not my history.
Moldovan language doesn't exist! It's Romanian, with a specific dialect, it's a linguistic fact! To say there is a Moldovan language is the same as saying people in the USA speak american, not English, just because of the dialect...
Nu este nici un dialect, ci Limba Romana cu usor accent regional, cum este peste tot in Romania.
I love this channel and those great, proffesional videos. BUT.
Transinistria is not some democratically made country. This is artificial non-state, made and supported by russian forces. Saying, that it was proclaimed by its people, is to support russian aggression. Pls don't.
Just like Moldova being an artificial non-state made by the russians in 1812 . Basarabia e Romania
Oh… and here I was told it’s the poorest country in Europe?
“Sandwiched beetween Romania and Ukraine”
Transniatria: Am i a joke to you?
Transnistria is not internationally recognised as a state
We’re sandwiched by a sandwiched country :P
Then why Austria and Germany don't unite?
Principality of moldova got nothing to do with moldova the ppl living in moldova are 50%romanians and 50%russians the confusion is made bc the namd
