The ice helps to keep the drink cold longer, dilute it a bit over time and help keeping the proportions right (because when you go to a bar and you see the cap isn't full if you ask the bartender to fill it up all the way he'll just pour some more juice and you won't feel the alcohol) but Ig if you make it at home you can put the glass in the fridge and remove the ice
