It was great to get a bit of your thoughts and insights on this challenge! You did well with each paintings and as usual, the video itself was very nicely filmed. I unfortunately don't really have any suggestions for other challenges. Maybe a variation of this one, like 1 painting in 7 days. Or the impossible 7 paintings in a day 😂
@@ElidaNikolovArt Nooooo! You don't need to make yourself suffer 😂 Although I would be curious and amazed to see it if you were able to pull that off, haha!
Hi Ellie! I myself I'm still trying to learn more about oils when I work with them but I can give you a few tips that have been working so far for me. Invest in a few good quality colours, primaries(red, blue, yellow) and a black, white, burned Siena. When I first started I literally just followed some Bob Ross tutorials. In his paintings he always primes the canvas with a bit of linseed oil and white paint. That makes the canvas wet and easy for you to blend the colours. I find this technique works best for landscapes. As opposed to that there's an entirely different technique where your canvas is dry and you paint with no medium at all. There's a great video here on UA-cam called "your first oil painting" by Yupari Artist that uses that. Fat over lean is the most important rule: Apply thin layers of paint with less or no oil first, then gradually build up to thicker layers with more oil, adding it bit by bit. If you have any questions at all I'm more than happy to answer them via Instagram if you DM them to me ( @elidanikolov.art ) Wish you all the luck with your oil painting journey!!
