Steve o, walking the Walk. I'm clean 23 years, it's hard, and it's my responsibility to stay clean. It's his gig to interview people & make em laugh. Lighten up. 🎯
He walks around that way, because that’s who he is. He has no one without that. Look at me. I’ve been sober for 16 oh 17 years. Maybe he should walk into a support group for people who are overweight. And tell them how hard it is not to do some thing.when the people in that support group have to learn moderation because they want to live.
I was diagnosed as an alcoholic when I got back from Afghanistan. Took me a year and a half to quit. I haven’t touched alcohol in nearly eleven years. I work as a corrections officer at a jail with a therapeutic living unit, giving offenders a chance at recovery through AA, NA, and Wellbriety programs. My personal and professional opinion is that Steve O’s request was justified. Shame on everyone here for calling him weak.
This is hilarious . As a recovering alcoholic I approached Steve-O for a photo once as his story inspired me and he proceeded to humiliate me in front of my girlfriend. I understand that he doesn’t owe me a photo or anything, and in the same vein, Bill Maher doesn’t owe Steve-O Jack shit. This is a classic case of karma. TYT, I really hope you see my comment. Steve-O is NOT a victim.
If Mahr was the greatest most charasmatic host, then it would almost make sense. But he shows up high, willfully unprepared and does an awful job. His interview with John Cleese was immensely frustrating.
I only eat pot brownies on the weekend (I have a liberal interpretation of 'weekend' i.e. 'thirsty Thursday'), but I do it alone at nighttime. I can't understand how anyone can get anything done on it during the day and it makes me clam up in social situations which is why I do it alone. If you can't put off smoking mj for a few hours, there's something wrong with you. Real talk.
Dont know why people are getting so upset, just dont go on Mahers podcast, who gives a shit. Whats the issue? Just dont go on the podcast and stop moaning about it. End of story.
What? Its perfectly alright to have certain things you just aren't willing to sacrifice, especially in the name of an interview with Steve-O. I bet if he could get a one on one with Putin he would forgo smoking pot for a couple hours. What this is really about is that Steve-O has no pull at all with Bill Maher.
You're such an IDIOT. This isn't a private house visit, sht-for-brains, it's a talk show where HE SMOKES WEED. It's part of the show! Why would he change it to accommodate a no-talent waste of air and a good liver like Steve-O. Virtue-signaling filth like you give liberals a bad name.

I paused and read the comments first, after watching... this made me laugh a lot lol Ana's way of saying Steve-O is like my mom telling me about a guy named Steve-O
I mean it’s not the worst pronunciation of it but still pretty funny lol 😂 I think part of the reason she’s pronouncing it that way is cuz they previously worked with another host of Korean descent who’s name was also Steve Oh, and so she is probably used to pronouncing it that way.
You're missing the point. He can not smoke pot for an hour or however long the podcast is to have a guest on and respect somebody's sobriety (this is coming from somebody who has struggled with addiction/alcoholism myself and am now sober). I wouldn't feel comfortable being interviewed by somebody literally drinking or doing drugs right in front of my face. If you've never had an addiction/alcoholism problem, you wouldn't understand. Yeah, sorry guys I totally disagree. Bill Mahar has a podcast he does from his home where the entire theme, or gimmick, of the show is that pot smoke. Steve-o demanding that this pot themed podcast not have any weed, and then complaining about it when he's told the pot smoke stays is m like a recovering alcoholic agreeing to do an interview at a bar, and then saying "hey can you guys stop serving alcohol here until I leave?" If you are going to have a problem with the environment of the interview just don't agree to do it.
@@bigbaddawg101 like I said, if you don't like the environment of the podcast then don't agree to do it? I am not sure why people feel like a podcast who has a theme, done in the home of the person whose podcast it is, should be the one required to compromise the entire theme of the show. Steve-O can just say, "hey I'm not comfortable around pot smoke because of my sobriety so I wont go on the podcast." That he's publicly complaining about water being wet, or the pot themed show not willing to stop its whole schtick just for him is ridiculous. It makes him sound like what he's really complaining about is that someone didn't think Steve-O was important enough to throw out the entire format of the podcast just for a chance to interview Steve-O.
Don't get me wrong, I do not even like Bill Mahar in the slightest; however, the weed thing is the whole theme, or schtick, of the podcast. Why are he, and whomever produces the podcast, the ones responsible for *completely changing the format of their show* to cater to one potential guest? It seems to me that if you got an invite to appear on a podcast and you were uncomfortable with the themes or format of that podcast, you should just say "no thanks" and call it a day rather than demanding that the whole production of the podcast be changed for you. Similarly if I had a friend invite me over to their place, and told me, "hey come on over and hang out, we are having a cigar party," *I* would be the asshole if I was like, "I am a recovering smoker, and I really cannot stand the smell of cigars. So I will come over, but do you mind just canceling the whole cigar thing and just talking?" I would be double the asshole if my friend was like, "it's Friday and you know that a bunch of us smoke cigars and watch movies Friday..." and I responded by not going, then blasting my friend on social media for not being willing to totally change the thing he does every Friday because it bothers me. @@savagewaifu4694

He didn't smoke weed when he had Dr. Phil on he smoked a cigar and drank, something he has done several times. And on that Dr. Phil show when he finds out that Phil has never touched alcohol Maher gets shocked by the idea that someone can go through life sober. He's also done that with other guests, like Ana mentions but others where he doesn't smoke, and instead drinks. The funny thing being regarding this being something brought up between Steve-o and PBD, when he had PBD on, Patrick asked if he could have a drink. Bill said sure, then never gave him one. You have to appreciate the irony. I guarantee this had nothing to do with the podcast being about Bill having to smoke weed on the show. It has more to do with the fact that Bill has this strange thing when it comes to other peoples sobriety. He has this idea that while certain drugs are obviously addictive and makes it impossible for 99% of people to function. But since you can't get addicted to weed he thinks that it's stupid for people who are sober to not switch over to it instead. He almost had a heart attack when he heard that Woody wasn't smoking anymore, only for him to say that he had just taken a 2 year break but since he was on the show he might as well.
He's asking maher not to alter his mind through passive smoking, this is not about "personal problems", smoking affects people around you... Maher could have munched on edibles and drink his scotch during the interview, but I guess he would have some personal problems with that. 🙄
These are the situations I actually like Bill Maher. He doesn’t give a shit about how pathetic Steve O actually is in real life. Bill’s podcast is hilarious for how nonchalant he is about his guest’s trauma and I kind of love it. Btw… Redbar’s watching.
This is a non story. Bill smokes pot in his podcasts. That is what he does, and he overwhelmingly does with his guests. Stevo expecting him to change that just for him is ridiculous. To expect him to change that, just for him and insist that Bill doesn't do it around him and then complain about it is ridiculous.
You word it like Steve o made a direct demand. He knows what the show is. He simply asked that he not smoke if he wanted to have him as a guest on his show. That’s it. He didn’t draft up a law trying to make it illegal to smoke in front of him. He didn’t “expect” him to change. He just made a simple request. Nobody’s freedoms were infringed upon by him asking him to not do something. And yea bill has the right to say no since it’s his show. But stop trying to frame it like steveo made a list of unreasonable demands

I don’t know about “cool”, but Maher is absolutely “relevant”. Not only does he have a wide audience with “Real Time”; he has a popular podcast and an insane touring schedule for his stand up appearances. When he visited my city the tickets were something like $175 for the crappiest seats in the house. Good seats were ridiculously expensive and the event sold out. A stand up touring schedule like Bill has along with sold out seats at almost all his appearances would not be possible if he was *irrelevant*.
I don't think other people should accommodate sober people. If they can't be around drugs without wanting to do it, they shouldn't be around it. But if Bill Maher invited him to be on the show and he said, "Sure, but it will make me really uncomfortable to sit with you for an hour while you smoke a spliff. Pot is the easiest drug in the world to slip with because it's not scary like coke and other hard drugs, and I would find it distracting and tempting. Could you just pop a gummy?"
Why don’t you ask him, since you know bill is the one that reached out and asked. Steve o didn’t go out of his way to ask to be interviewed on his podcast
@@ArchThaBoss Still. Bill has a right to run his show however he wants, and he has no obligation to make concessions to sober people. Also, there are plenty of sober people who are fine with people smoking pot and/or drinking around them.
I'm trying to remember what guest it was that Bill had on who was sober. The reason I'm not remembering is because he's done it to more than one. They say that they're sober and they can't touch drugs or alcohol anymore and he proceeds to antagonize them telling them that it's all in their head and they should be able to have one and he just doesn't understand. He's pretty much a dick about anything that he doesn't personally believe in. He's a dick about marriage he's a dick about kids. I love Bill Maher I love watching his show but there are times that he pisses me off. And his "If you don't do drugs or alcohol you are just being stupid." attitude. And it isn't all that uncommon and attitude either. I know a guy named Rick who is politically diametrically opposed to everything Bill stands for. He has an adult son who had a pill problem and quit and when he did he quit literally everything he doesn't drink he doesn't smoke. His dad and his stepmother go over to his house and watch football games together. They are all big Penn State fans. The kid sits there while his father is drinking and smoking pot and it doesn't FaZe the kid the kid does just fine around it. I have more respect for that young man than I can even put into words. And when we have been alone and talking his father has said to me I just don't understand why he had to quit everything. It just doesn't make any sense. And he talks about his son like his son is weak for having done it. Meanwhile when this guy would get off of work by the time he got to his car he already had the cooler out that had a couple of cold beers left from the ride in that morning he drinks them on the way to the beer distributor where he buys a case of beer on the way home. This is every day. And yet he absolutely could not see the hypocrisy in him putting other people down for quitting their habits when he had one that he could let go. And even though I lost a little respect for him from that I didn't cut him off as a friend and I'm glad I didn't. Because I got to see how his mind really worked. He developed the heart condition and his doctor told him he had to quit drinking. And I figured for sure that was going to be a big problem. And then he quit cold turkey and never had another drink. That's been 5 years ago. So I guess he was being honest. He really doesn't understand addiction. Oh and I finally remembered which guessed it was that he was antagonizing about his sobriety and almost knocked him off the wagon you could see that he was weakening. That was Tommy lee. That was the day I lost respect for bill. Sorry for the typos I was voice texting all of that.
John and Ana are totally wrong on this. Why should Bill have to change up his show format just because Steve O might turn into a a heroin binge seeking gremlin at the mere smell of marijuana?

Who cares! Steve O, playing the moral high ground??????? This world truly has no continuity. Most of us have to get over disfunction without praise. However, people praise the rich and famous when they kick a habit. Just don't go on the podcast, Steve. All of you are entitled.
I had a college radio show and wouldn’t do the show unless I was high on weed. Guests often did smoke with me before the show but some didn’t…. And that’s cool. More for me.
I never thought sobriety would be associated with weed. Usually when people get sober I think alcohol or hard drugs like meth, coke, etc. It's cool that Steve O is living sober now but he just need to lighten up on the ganja, it's not that deep.

Bill Maher did respect his sobriety though, by not having him on the podcast. You cant dictate terms and then be upset when the other person refuses to go along. People really need to understand there is more than one way to do stuff (especially things that do not need to be done, like an interview).

Hey Stevie, if youre letting somebody get to you over your sobriety, and go on public media to discuss it, you arent working those Steps .Humility. See, your need to discuss it says a lot. "Steve's weakness?" Do you have ANY idea what it takes to literally pick yourself up and claw your way back from the literal depths of h3ll and get sober and maintain sobriety? Clearly you don't. And addiction isn't a "weakness" or a "moral failing". It's a legitimate disease of the brain and you can go read about it on the American Medical Association's website or the DSM (The Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders that is used in psychology/psychiatry.) Addiction/alcoholism has been labeled as a disease since the 1950's. It's SOCIETY that doesn't accept that it is IN FACT A DISEASE that is the problem. Bill can do whatever he wants but he can at least respect the sobriety of a guest on his podcast. He walks around that way, because that’s who he is. He has no one without that. Look at me. I’ve been sober for 16 oh 17 years.

It's Steve-o's responsibility to stay sober. Maher is here to make a living and he's entitled to not have Steve on.
Steve-o demanding that this pot themed podcast not have any weed, and then complaining about it when he's told the pot smoke stays is m like a recovering alcoholic agreeing to do an interview at a bar, and then saying "hey can you guys stop serving alcohol here until I leave?"
If you are going to have a problem with the environment of the interview just don't agree to do it.
When's the last time you got second hand drunk at a bar?
So basically weed is Bill's whole personality.
So I will come over, but do you mind just canceling the whole cigar thing and just talking?"
I would be double the asshole if my friend was like, "it's Friday and you know that a bunch of us smoke cigars and watch movies Friday..." and I responded by not going, then blasting my friend on social media for not being willing to totally change the thing he does every Friday because it bothers me.

Maher wants to be cool and relevant soooo bad.
I know right, one of the most watched shows on HBO....if only he were relevant...lol....holy crap people...are you serious? lol
So bill is entitled for saying no, but SteveO isnt for making the demand

Welcome to the real world, Steve-O. It's a cold, cruel world. It is what it is. The same applies to TYT defending Steve-O and attacking Bil Maher.
Why does Bill Maher have an obligation to have Steve-O on his podcast?
Why don’t you ask him, since you know bill is the one that reached out and asked. Steve o didn’t go out of his way to ask to be interviewed on his podcast
@@ArchThaBoss Still. Bill has a right to run his show however he wants, and he has no obligation to make concessions to sober people. Also, there are plenty of sober people who are fine with people smoking pot and/or drinking around them.
Im a polite guy, so i probably would. But i also understand how other people can feel like its not their job to cater to your weakness

The show is about smoking pot while trying to have a intelligent conversation. Whether or not he succeeds in that latter part is questionable, but the pot is part of the show. I don't like the show or Bill Maher. btw I'm also sober and don't want to be around people smoking pot.
I'm a recreational pot smoker for about 40 years, if you can't not smoke for an hour, stop smoking pot.
It's pronounced SteveOH, not Steve pause O.
Thank you!!!! Annoying every time she says it like that.
Allegedly!!? Maher is smug anyway. I expect it. Even when he's agreeing with someone, he's smug.
Can't Bill Maher just eat gummies?
Hey Stevie, if youre letting somebody get to you over your sobriety, and go on public media to discuss it, you arent working those Steps .Humility.
See, your need to discuss it says a lot. Second, your reason , it could be to help others , is Noble but when you bring on another to discuss, provoke, or leave yourself open to insults , then your addiction to attention plays into your sobriety .
You may be sober but as we are reminded , addiction takes on different forms.
And if you get bent over Bill, you ain't ready.
Keep working those STEPS .
A man who is sober for 16 years ain’t getting it right because he isn’t showing “humility” by calling out his behavior? This is a stupid comment
I gotta be fair and say PBD is right on this one.
Its his show, he should be able to do it how he would like. Good for both of them for sticking to their principals.. Why does one of them have to be a bad guy for wanting to do their thing their own way?
@@fuckyougeorgebushWhat I can't imagine is having someone as a guest in my home that I know is a recovering drug addict and insisting on smoking pot and drinking in front of them. Steve-o made a request probably thinking that it would be no big deal to Bill. When it was, he decided to not go on the show. A simple act of self-preservation. I'm sure they'll both get over it.
I don’t know why anybody watches anything Bill Maher does anymore. He’s been worthless for years.
Yep. Only relevant thing about Maher is that Tim Heidecker sketch from last year.
Who cares…he asked…bill said no. Move on
Gossip.
OMG...crow was singing soon so didnt want the smoke to effect her voice and is a talented musician. Steve is a ....sober comic his fame is from jackass? Bill also has a drink should he also not do that in HIS OWN HOUSE because of steve's weakness? I wouldn't even watch a bill maher steve-o interview. Also bill does a show every week called real time where he is not smoking and has a podcat cast called club random where he invites people he find interesting.......maybe Bill doesn't find steve interesting. Seems for a independent fact based news company I hear little facts and lots of options.
If you can't refrain from smoking or drinking or doing whatever drug you're doing for an hour discussion, you just might have a problem with addiction. So it seems to me that Bill has an addiction problem that he needs to get a grip on. And he's clearly a narcissist who thinks he's so important.
What the hell? I agree with maher here.
