Awesome presentation, really cool how ya walked everybody through the process and the results were fantastic. Keep the videos coming you help the rest of us tremondously.
this video is real nice been watching it over and over I have almost same rim vtx 1300r alloys almost flawless but need to Polish so I purchased buffing wheel and Polish them
Now that's a great idea! Many thanks for uploading this. One thing: do you use anything to protect the surface i.e. clear coat, metal varnish, etc..? I mean it will got with time, right? I've got a '94 Magna and was either considering going mate black of posilh
I have a an ‘84 V65 that had some pretty flat looking aluminum on it. I use the same process to polish the aluminum engine case where it’s not painted, the thermostat cover and a couple of other items. It really brought them to life.
greetings .. i have a 1985 honda shadow ... and the rims look about 9 times worse then yours same thing with the shifter covers my question is ... would this way work for them as well ... and where did you get all the stuff you used from ?
I’ll have to go look. I think there are some minor machine lines on some areas of the rims. If they were significant, this process won’t knock those down. It would, however, polish the surface.
I hate to ask and bother but I had polished my rims on my honda vtx retro look real nice but their is ever so small machining lines a lot of them from edge of oute r lip of rim all the way to where the rim meets up at where you put your price of wood how do I get them our without damaging rim
I have almost same rim it is in real good shape a most shiny I been hand polishing I have buffing wheel now that red bike as my pic is my honda vtx 1300r and I'm going to do what you did to mine
Take your time and work through the grits and it should be great. I made this video ten years ago and my wheels still look great - not perfect - but still shiny.

Guillermo Contreras I didn’t put a clear coat on them and they still look great after 9 years. They could use a minor touch up, but nothing much.

I heard about using Aircraft Paint Remover to do the same is there any cons to that do you know?
This video shows polishing the wheel without clear coat. I did remove clear coat from V65 covers, and it still took polishing to get the high shine.
Elbow grease works to
Nice way to polish
did you have to remove any clear coat
No. The Valk wheels come without clear coat.
Valk started clear coating in year 2001
thats cool... can you polish the wheels on my valkrye?????
Real nice but mine has machine shop lines built in really small on my vtx 1300r
Watch out for the Safety Inspector
