I am an idiot trying to navigate through the unnecessarily difficult if not frivolous selection of words in the ABLETON manual. Your videos are amazing...I don't know what people are talking about. I find your videos to be easy to comprehend and your accent fun to listen to. Thanks so much for your help!
Love how it is "to the point" instruction. Very clear. Thank you.
This whole series was a great idea and your execution clear and to the point. Thanks for making it.
I really enjoyed your approach, it was very intuitive! Awesome Overview.

Very helpful thank you!
Thank you so much
nice tutorial, but I would honestly get rid of the zipper thing-intermission, it was quite annoying in my headphones. 😊 keep it up!
Thank you 🙏
Thank you!!
Hi Maike, a great tutorial and very helpful. There is one question left for me though - could I set the follow action of a clip so that it starts the whole following or previous scene instead just the clip in the same column? I was not able to figure it out yet and I wonder if you could help me out with that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you very much for your efforts.
Awesome!
Thank you!!!
Yes good vid
Thanks
I subbed 10 seconds in.
Hi, when I double click my clip it opens a menu that says "warp, follow, transpose, and gain" and doesn't say clip anywhere. help?
Hey I've got a Q, anyway to cue a master without it cueing the stems? Basically, on my launchpad I want to press the far right launch section to launch the scene, but I don't want it to launch everything in the scene until I decide to
GReat tutorial lil Miss! Question: at 2:00 you're talking about the stop quantization. Is it possible to set the stop lenght on a different value for different clips? e.g. one clip only stops after 2 bars, another after 4 bars....this upper quantization is a generic setting, the quantization in the launch menu is for the start quantization.
Have you any idea why clips might launch slower in one channel than they do in the others? The only references I've found to delayed launches relate to individual clips or global quantization.
Hey Meike! Great videos !!! Watching your tutorials has been a great help!! I have a question I was hoping you could help me out with. For my live performance I'm gonna be doing a lot of live looping. For an example: I am gonna be playing some drums on a midi keyboard. This means that the clips I want to quantize have not yet been played and thus I can't use the quantization on that clip without having to spend a lot of time on it while playing live. So my question is: is there a way to do so that once I've recorded my drums on my midi keyboard, it is already in the quantization I want it and already in the launch mode I want it to be?
Maike Watson Thank you very much!!! I’ll try it out!
🙌🏻🙌🏻
wow watched the whole video waiting to learn about the bottom part only to find out its in another video...
hero
I see both other symbols but not the L. any idea why?
Hi! Congratulations for your channel! Can you help me? For some weird reason, the default quantization for clip launching in my Live 10 is 1/16, and not global. Do you by any chance know how to change it to global quantization as default? It's a total pain in the ass having to change all the clips quantization everytime! If you could help somehow, that would be great! Thank you in advance.
@@lilmissbeats YEEEEES YOU SAVED ME 4 REAL!!! hahahahah sorry for being stupid, thank you so much
Hey is there any way to trigger another midi clip outside of the same row (for example one in your light pink clip and the other from the hot pink clip) similar to gate but without having to let go so the other sample plays through. Im having an issue where if i play a clip and play another one from a separate track they play together simultaneously. I want the other one to play and the previous one to stop soon as i click a new track. If im not explaining this well i can send a video to show what my issue is. By the way all my quantizations are set to none in this instance so they should play after i press a new clip and stop the previous one
Thank you happy new year to you as well. And ill try this and see if it works. It seems like what im talking about isnt really possible in the way that i want it to. So basically mapping one of the clips to be empy then play another clip so it doesnt cut off the other one then playing the one i want to play after? Maybe i dont get the explanation. What im trying to achieve is basically have the clips play with a gatelike function but without having to hold for the sample to keep playing. Sort of like playing it like a drum machine but from the clips where if i play a clip it keeps playing as long as i press another clip. When i try to do this what happens is: i play one clip (lets say i have it mapped to a letter on my keyboard like d for this instance. I have another clip mapped to H, I play D and everything works fine but when i let go and click on H D is still playing so they play at the same time as opposed to only the H clip playing). I might be making it hard to understand
Hey, is there a possibility to delay the start of just one clip after I hit the master play button of a song. we are using ableton to play backingtracks in a live setting. All the clips start at the same time, now is there a way to drag one of the clips to the right to play it after a couple seconds. We need to send audio time codes to start other software applications but want to send the code only after the two count in bars. Do you know what i mean?
Maybe the answer comes a bit leate, but: If you are in session mode use a dummy clip (an empty clip) and set its length to one bar and the follow action settings to play the clip which you want to play.
@@distorson thank you. That helps. Good to know anyways. 😉
how open lounch?
When I create a new midi clip, it is always set to toggle. Is there a way to always make it set to Trigger or another setting when created? Thank you This video was most helpful:)
Never mind I just found it in preferences!
The velocity thingy you are describing t 4:40 does NOT work!
Came here to find out at the end that the follow actions are up next....lol
haha the follow up video. Cool I hope you found the vid, it's #16 ;)
Your tutorials are great, thanks for the upload!
Random question, but I just have to ask: Why does your mouse sometimes get really big for a half-second then shrink again? It's perplexing me, lol. (Eg: ua-cam.com/video/2KBUCFdMqCY/v-deo.html )

You sound south african ❤
that little L is what made me google for an ungodly amount of time, thanks!
Teacher, you talk man fast I no understand. Can you talk fast at a lower speed? Sorry, English me.
If you talked a little faster, I wouldn't understand a word you said. As is, I can get every fifth word. Is there some reason for speaking so fast?
