  • Description:
Join me on a culinary journey through the vibrant streets of Georgetown, Penang, as I uncover the hidden gem of Argyll Road Kochabi Koay Teow Th'ng in Seong Huat Coffeeshop. Situated at the corner of Jalan Larut and Jalan Bawasah, this quaint kopitiam offers a delightful array of flavors amidst a bustling local atmosphere.
In this episode, I delve into the essence of Penang's culinary scene, starting with the signature dish of Kochabi Koay Teow Th'ng. Unlike its counterparts, this delectable noodle soup boasts a light poultry broth that's refreshingly less salty, allowing the true flavors of the ingredients to shine. From tender braised chicken feet to flavorful duck meat and fishball soup, each dish is a testament to the kopitiam's commitment to authentic flavors and quality ingredients.
What sets Argyll Road Kochabi Koay Teow Th'ng apart is its diverse selection of toppings, including pork liver, chicken meat, fishballs, and gizzards, adding layers of texture and taste to every spoonful. And for those who prefer a touch of soy sauce, feel free to customize your bowl to your liking.
Despite its culinary excellence, this hidden gem remains relatively undiscovered, offering a peaceful dining experience away from the crowds of more famous stalls. As I savor each bite, I reflect on the food rivalry discussed in my previous videos, shedding light on the diverse opinions and perspectives that shape Penang's culinary landscape.
Beyond the culinary delights, I offer insights into my life as a stay-at-home dad, sharing snippets of my daily routine and how I balance family life with my passion for food exploration.
Join me as I embark on this gastronomic adventure, celebrating the rich flavors and cultural heritage of Penang one bowl at a time. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more culinary escapades and insights into the vibrant tapestry of Malaysian cuisine.
Thank you for joining me on this journey, and remember, the best flavors are often found in the most unexpected places!

If anyone who lives in the Western world wants to know what is Malaysia I would recommend your videos. You present the life in Malaysia as natural as it gets. You don't realize it but you are a natural.

Being a stay home dad is a important job. Your children look at you for directions in life. It's not a easy job.

Thank you for saying this, it is not a very common thing in Asia and people think it is "easy" but it is very important to raise my children right especially in this modern world. :)

Hahahaha I paiseh lah, usually cook very simple dishes only. But can lah from time to time I can shoot some cooking videos. The other reason is because my kitchen is quite hard to shoot cooking videos, it is very small and my stove is facing the wall.

There's this fishball noodle stall called Hong Xing Handmade Fishball Noodles on the 2nd floor of Hong Lim Food Centre in Chinatown Singapore where they make their own fishball and meatball using sai tor fish. There's always a queue in the morning and they are opened from 7am to 2pm, closed on Sundays. Small $4.50, Medium $5.50 and Large $6.50. Difference between small, medium and large is the number of fishballs and meatballs.
I love their chili and you can request for more bak you pok to be added for free. My go to noodle is usually kway teow although sometimes I'd go for mee pok. Handmade fishballs are a rarity in Singapore these days.

I love sai toh fishballs, the nice springy texture. Last CNY I got some for our steamboat and it was so much better than the machine made ones

Yeah, true that. Each person has his own preferences. Taste bud masing2 lain. Everyone has their favourite tempat makan. Which is understandable, but at the same time don't deny and criticise other people's tastes and preferences.
