Thanks for the sympathy shout out. I’m so tired of some of these truck stops with no hot water at the sinks. The showers are fine, but not the sinks. Lately I’m reduced to two shaves a week, Sunday and Wednesday. At least I get one hot water shave in. I snuck in an extra shave in this morning at home off camera. Oh the joys of hot water.💦
I am a hot water start to finish shaver. I’ve tried many times, but I have never been a fan of a cold water finish. The hotter the better. Maybe check into a small plug in tea kettle. Safe travels.
Oh and I forgot you asked about where I was from. You were darn close. I’m about 25 miles west of Lafayette. We get that same pleasant summer weather as you get in Houston. Lovely, lovely.
@@BigEShaves I’ve spent many a night at the Loves at Rayne Duson. I stop frequently at Casper. Wyoming. One winter it was -20F. I went in to shave and the sink water was ice cold. The shave soap just wouldn’t melt. Horrible shave. An electric tea pot to heat water? All I need is another piece of equipment to carry around, back and forth, and store in the truck. Don’t think so, but thanks anyway.
Have you made bear tallow soap? It is some of my favorite soap; bear tallow. The soap quality and post feel is fantastic.

I have not, I don’t have access to it. You just made me realize I have never really went into any detail about my soap. I have access to beef tallow. I butcher one calf a year and save all the fat from that. I’m also an hunter, I save all the deer fat I can. Last year I harvested 16 lbs of deer tallow. The batch in the video is 50% deer tallow, the rest is palm oil, cocoa and shea butter. I probably should make a soap making video one day.

I am learning Super curve stone honing. Right now I am not using circles on curved stones. I am not saying you shouldn’t. I am just keeping things simple and controlled right now. On my smaller radius wheel stone I use a lot of half strokes.

This is my first time seeing you shave.sorry for not watching more often I’m kinda overwhelmed trying to watch all my friends videos and parent too 😂 I have to say, You are such a pro with a straight razor! You shave faster than I do with a DE! I think it was you that I read a comment somewhere that people should start honing with a box of gold dollars. I don’t want to ruin my Bismarck so I think that’s sound advice. Those stones are kinda expensive. I want to get them but I can’t justify it YET. I think after watching you hone that unless I buy a razor new, I am going to use you as my honing guy. If you offer a service. I don’t hone for hire, I hone for fun, this is a hobby for me. But I have no problem honing for a fellow shaver when I have time and would be happy to help you out. Maybe one day when I retire I may get in that service, right now it’s all about an avenue for stress relief 😜. My channel email is in my channel description.
