Thank you! Please keep posting more videos. I was seriously looking at an ISATA 5 28SS Explorer. to replace my Winnebago VIEW 24J.... Now, I am having second thoughts... Dynamax - that cable management is crap and the plumbing is crap.
I definitely don't want to discourage you. At the right discounted price, the unit is worth it. The bones are good, but improvement needed in the quality. Plumbing and wiring is almost identical to the Winnebago if you look in the right places. Renegade seems to have better plumbing and wiring runs. If you can get a huge discount, and hold firm on the dealer fixing everything prior to delivery, it would be worth it. Most people including me taking delivery are just eager to get it home. I think the dealer needs a good solid 2 weeks to fix everything, and then reinspect, and another week to complete. Dynamax on the other hand needs to do a thorough inspection of their own product and make improvements. My 2 cents.
Luckily you have the skill set to deal with all these issues but many of us don't and though I am seriously looking at a Dynamax and I know there are issues with all RV's it seems in my research that the Dynamax has way too many and most should have been caught if there was any QC being done at the Manufacturer. Its a real shame since at first look it seems like a really nice RV. A real shame Dynamax doesn't step the quality and the QC of their products.
Totally understand. They do have a good foundation but need to slow down and focus on quality. They first need to admit they have quality issues in order to fix it. I don't think they realize they have slipped over the years. Hopefully that will change.
You paid so much for your RV,s and are willing to fix, repair or completely reengineer almost every area of the RV. You must be a masochist, bored, or just love reengineering poor RV manufacturers engineering. What ever it is, I love your videos and keep up sharing the interesting corrections.
awesome. If I ever buy another RV, I will for sure get a Dynamax. So much potential for upgrades. it will keep me busy for months 🙂 About the vinyl hoses vs. PEX fittings. What I found is that many of these hoses have an outside diameter that is just a tad too big to fit an uncompressed PEX clamp for 1/2" pipe (the OD of a 1/2" hose is bigger than the OD of a 1/2" PEX tube). so the RV manufacturer needs to use a PEX clamp for 5/8" which fits easily over the hose but then doesn't compress correctly over the 1/2" fitting. However, there are vinyl flex hoses with a smaller OD, similar to the OD of the PEX tube, so a 1/2" clamp fits nicely and compresses correctly. I did not have any leaks in my RV with this type of hose.
The potential of the Dynamax is correct. I think if they made a couple of simple changes, they would really stand out. As for the hoses, they also have issues with different inside diameter hoses. I had two different inside diameter on my Winnebago as well as my Dynamax either though they both are stamped 1/2 inch on the outside. I'll do a video on it if I get the motivation. Besides the diameters, if you twist the fitting that is a hose assembly, they tend to leak easier. I should have stated drip instead of leak. Some of the drips are so slow, that it may dry up before causing damage or seeing a real puddle to catch it. Over a long period of time, that could turn into a bigger problem. On my Winnebago, I had a large leak that caused me to take the shower apart. That is when I discovered a bunch of small leaks or drips that were dripping really slow on the transfer box.
I am sorry you are having these issues. You spend good money on a product to produce Lasting memories for your family. These problems certainly take a lot of the fun out of the equation.
At least I'm able to fix most items myself and not go through the hassle of the terrible warranty process. It's all good. Just an example of manufacturers needing to do better.
It was back when discounts were hard to come by and inventory was thin, I am happy with my Aspect I ended up with instead, checked all the boxes @@rvlifediy
@@RoamingRetreats1 I wished they still made the Aspect. I like the looks/design of them much better than the Minnie Winnie. Not sure Why Winnebago discontinued them. The inside also looked more upscale.
@@rvlifediy I heard they stopped making them so they could make more room for the cheaper stuff. There are still really clean ones that pop up, I scored with the one I got, and 3 months on the road and no issues. I got lucky!

I doubt every owner is having the same problems. Likely problems in batches made in a particular time period. It seems common in the RV industry. Some brands better than others and maybe always a lemon in a batch no matter the manufacturer?
Can't say much for Winnebago either. They were about the same. The issue I have is that the rumors are that Dynamax (including Winnebago) are manufacturers that build better quality compared to others. I think they both are average and need simple improvements. As for LTV, I almost purchased the FX floorplan but realized their floorplans would never work for us. They look good, but made for 2 people at best and no space for guests. Their plumbing and electric is messy like the rest but I do like their exterior design.
Not acceptable on a basically new 2023 trailer. Manufacturers do shoddy construction and dealerships give lousy warranty repair work and service. This experience is all too common with trailers. This is the same type of stuff I ran into when I bought a new trailer in 2017. I ended up selling it in 2019 and basically gave up on the trailer experience. I retired to enjoy myself and not to become a self employed trailer repair man. Too much hassle.

Thats unfortunate as that was the exact rig I wanted and even made an offer for a new one at a dealer, however I love my Aspect 27K
Just negotiate a huge discount and make sure the dealer fixes all items before the final transaction.

Do you miss your winnebago build quality yert? have you considered Leisure travel Vans?
