Please keep in mind that the budget on this was minuscule, hence the lack of blood as that would require multiple costumes etc.
Well Geeks & Geekettes, here is the full Cosplay build and capping it of is “Wolverine”, a fan made clip by the incredible Danielo and Sarah of @luxxemedia
Featuring my dear friend Sam as a Stryker mercenary and myself as Wolverine.
This was a brutal shoot as the elements of an Australian summer were hitting hard. But Danielo, Sarah and Sam all went above and beyond to deliver something I’m beyond proud of.
Regardless, we made it work more than I could have ever imagined. And this is because of the wonderfully talented and dedicated little crew I had.

Now I’m convinced that the reason we haven’t gotten the suit in live action is because they assumed it would be bad and just didn’t try. This is absolutely incredible work, dude.

lmfao X-men movies hates comic accurate costumes. the reason why people love X-men is because it's the first competent superhero movies and the latter ones are great (first class & logan)
fans don't even realize that the producers hates costumes be ause they're in love with the characters

Yeah, that's totally the real reason.. At the time of the first movie, comics where "child stuff" so the old grumpy producers really thought colorfull suits where bad and childish. They never considered making it more "functional" and adult, which is a shame

There's something to be done about the proportions. Despite Chris being a pretty buff guy the disproportion between cowl and rest of the costume makes him look thin. It's either reducing the size of the cowl (or making it stick closer to the head) or bulding bigger frame around shoulders/arms (maybe bigger shoulder pads).
I def agree on that. The suit is amazing but the cowl is giving Mickey Mouse vibes lol

This was very well done, both the suit and the short. I appreciate the passion and energy put into it, especially coming from someone who is currently working on doing 1 Wolverine cosplay every month this year lol. Wolverine is very near and dear to my heart and just cheers mate, glad to see you seemed to have a great time with it too.
For polyethele plastics (like the sides of the kneepads) that paint won't adhere to, you can hit them lightly with a butane or propane torch, this changes the structure of the surface and will make paints and adhesives stick very well. That said I really like the yellow weathering and chipping. Chalk it up to a happy accident.
Wow, seeing as how Hugh Jackman is bound to wear some version of this in DP3 (hopefully), you have set the bar so fucking high for Marvel Studios to compete with! Just goes to show that the yellow and blue can be incredibly gritty and badass, yet still retain that awesome comic accuracy. You even look perfect for the role. Amazing work man!
Now imagine that the studios costume looks worse(as lately they often do)....who would win, A youtuber on a limited budget with passion or a multi million dollar studio with unlimited resources?

When you paint mold-injected plastic, the thing that prevents the primer/paint from adhering is remnants of mold-release. Run a blowtorch over the plastic for a few seconds (dont melt it), and you can wipe off the mold release with a paper towel and maybe some Isopropyl Alcohol. Wear a mask/ventilator to avoid toxic fumes. Then a decent primer will adhere MUCH better.

He’s absolutely right about the cost efficiency of the knee pads. I’ll add - just the man hours alone for a multi-step process can be minimized to a substantial degree.
Well now that deadpool 3/ deadpool & wolverine is out we now know that we can have good hero suits in movies 😁

Chris in relation to the paint not adhering to the injection moulded plastic, that's due to the mould release.
Miniature painters have dealt with that for decades, soap and water tends to do well.

Wolverine has had multiple costumes over the years but my 2 favorites are the original first the maroon and gold the second is from the uncanny X-Men cartoon from the 90s both of which has black claw marks between the neck and shoulders and around the sides and legs. The belt was dark red and the emblem belt buckles was yellow x and red inside. The boots had sharp tops kinda like the cowl which was black stripes down to the toes and either blue boots if it's the yellow suit and maroon is it's the maroon and gold suit.

Helpful Hint: Next time you wanna do rust effects on rivets, scuff and dremel them a bit first. That way, when you apply the rusty colors, you can wipe them away a little bit and the pain stays in the scuffed metal. Makes it look even more rusty.
