    Her sentiment about 'traditionals' is absolutely beautiful. Artists like her are such rare and special gifts to the human race.

    No tuner needed, this is perfect as it is!
    Won’t fit when you listen to it in your clean office or living room.
    However, gonna be perfect driving through Kentucky with your old Mustang..

    I have two conflicting responses to this video:
    1. I need to play my guitar immediately, and 2. I want to throw it out the window.
    Where have you been all my life?

    whether her guitar is tuned or not, it's irrelevant. the power of her composition carries the song and plus, it sounds fucking good.

    I love reading all these experts in tuning...
    Guess none of them ever heard of just intonation and perfect intervals.
    And how all standard guitars are pretty much out of tune since they use equal fret spacing across all strings.
    Guess they don't know that you can also tune in several ranges of Hz.
    And that some styles of music are heavily based on the dissonance that occurs from instruments without perfect intervals.
    Like jazz, where there's a constant juggle between conflicting states and the resolve of these conflicts .

    ecsellent soundscape around the ol' fav....i wonder what tuning she's in maybe the whole git is simply detuned about 1 1/2 steps i tired it at home but that's not quite it...each instrument is particularly tuned not out of tune...excellent musicians for roots fans this is a banquet

    after reading the comments, I'm glad I don't know so much about music and how its supposed to sound. I wouldn't be able to enjoy this (and other music) as much as I do. here's to ignorance.

    • @mthomsmith
      @mthomsmith 6 років тому +1

      The thing is though that you know more about how music is supposed to sound than so many of these haters -- it's supposed to sound enjoyable (or if not necessarily enjoyable, then visceral and powerful in some way). Anderson is a fantastically gifted player who's absolutely in touch with her instrument, and if you're able to understand that then you know all you need to to enjoy this and any music. All those commenting about the minor details of tuning are just nerds with some kind of superiority complex, who are just letting their own insecurities get in the way of them enjoying a great performance. Sucks to be them!

    • @billyglover188
      @billyglover188 5 років тому +2

      The negative commenters know much less than you and much, much less than they think. They have been warped by over produced, auto tuned, dehumanized “music.”

      SingleMalt77005 the first one is some kind of Gretsch but I’m not sure the model. I think the steel is a Dickinson lap steel. The third is a Gibson Es-125 I believe, and the fourth is just a fender Stratocaster

  • @leocvalle

    The second guitar is completely out of tune. But her playing style is very interesting.

    • @TerriblyNice_Not
      @TerriblyNice_Not 10 років тому +17

      I mean this with minimal offence intended - she tunes the guitar how she wants and for her style. If it sounds to you out of tune, that's fine - it's how it's supposed to be. Just fuck off with your misplaced pedantry. You're not an expert in guitar music - she is.

    • @amettamail
      @amettamail 10 років тому +5

      DandeB88 No, I think he is right. The second guitar is out of tune. It's a not a great excuse to say that playing notes that do not work together is how "she tunes the guitar how he wants and for her style." Out of tune instruments is not a new art form, they're just out of tune instruments.

    • @250frederic
      @250frederic 9 років тому

      DandeB88 It's out of tune mate. Lots of musicians don't know how to properly tune their instruments... it's not an insult or anything, it's just the simple truth. Wether you enjoyed the song or not has nothing to do with how the tension on those strings was adjusted at that very moment in time.
