I love how many hiding spots you gave them. It seems less convenient from a pet owner standpoint (you might not be able to find them when you want to, and they have to come to you on their terms), but its way more enriching and healthy for the animals themselves. Beautiful work!
How do you not have a million subs?!?! Gorgeous vivarium and the cutest skinks in the world. Their personalities and boldness makes them the best! Beautiful footage. 🦎❤️🦎
Emerald Tree Skinks! They are plump and beautiful, so cute! I love them! I used to keep and breed them before too! I remember being very moved by the experience of successfully breeding reptiles for the first time.
Hi, good morning Kayla. Caribbean guy here. Thanks for posting as always. Must acknowledge that. A very happy new year to you and yours. Happiness and prosperity.🎉❤
So I found you with Dave Kaufman at NRBC? This was a great looking build. I hope to see more videos from you soon. Good luck and keep posting videos like this and you’re sure to be a success!!
Amazing setup! Not dissimilar to mine, but it seems simpler to put together and looks better. I think im over the expanding foam background method 😅 One addition I'd recommend! A heat mat attached to the side at the bottom against the substrate layer. My female always lays right next to the pad. I'm garbage at artificial incubation so I just started leaving them. Up to 12 babies now 😊 Great video as always!
omg kayla i didnt know its gonna turn out THAT beautifull!! U did an awesome job ! I never realised how stunning these lizards are now youre making me wanna get a pair haha!
I'm looking to re-do my chinese cave gecko enclosure. Normally, he can be found in one of the hides and he's made some burrows. He sometimes crawls up the cork bark, but he never climbs up the leaned branches for more verticle spaces. As another non-sticky toed lizard, is it worth having more upper, horizontal space, or should I focus on building a solid underbrush with more things to crawl on/in?
Both! Offer a variety of hardscape, foliage, and botanicals at the bottom of the enclosure, along with thick, textured, sturdy hardscape in the upper portion of the enclosure. It’s better to maximize their usable space, rather than limit them to the base of the enclosure. Worst case scenario, they don’t use it. But it makes the enclosure look more natural and elaborate, and you can feel good knowing that your gecko has the freedom of choice! I have another build video on my channel where I create a Thailand-inspired vivarium for my Thai Bent-Toed Gecko. You might find inspiration for your Cave Gecko enclosure! 😊
These suckers make such incredible pets! They're amazing. How long do they live in captivity? It would be so great to have a trio of these for twenty years. It would suck when they all but one died though. It would be so lonely.
Emerald tree skins are at the top of my most wanted reptiles list. I am working on putting together an enclosure for a couple.. are you able to provide a cost breakdown or rough budget of what this cost you
I really love this! I was just trying to convince my wife to let me get some emerald tree skinks when I saw this video. Great job btw! Very professional!
@@kaylaroach you are welcome. I enjoy your videos. How is the boiga set up going? My mangrove...health wise it is doing great. But it has become extremely skittish and like to hide most of the time. Beautiful snake...but only see it at night.

That looks amazing! You always do the best. I'm getting a cbb FWC Thursday and still trying to think up how to make her enclosure. All i know is i want it to be bioactive. Always enjoy seeing your new content coming out.
Wow! Amazing job with the voice-over, and intricately replicating the setup for the Emerald Tree Skinks. 👏🏾🌳🦎 And my goodness are they gluttonous! 😬 The amount of times they rudely and crudely pulled (and ripped!) the bugs out of each others mouths is both comical and gross! 😂🤣
Kayla that is so beautiful! Honestly I love cork backgrounds so much. Have you had any breeding activity, because mine are very much breeding. (Honestly kinda weird we posted ETS build like 2 days apart but whatever) I’m so happy that there is getting more and more content for these skinks!
No heat mat. I use a halogen bulb to attain a surface basking temperature of approximately 95°F. They have an ambient temperature gradient from the 80’s (at the top of the enclosure) to the 70’s (at the bottom of the enclosure). I recommend reading the care guide on ReptiFiles if you’re interested in more husbandry information!
Yes, I do dust my feeders! But not every feeding. Excessive calcium supplementation can lead to hypercalcemia, which can be fatal. I rotate between dusting with calcium, multivitamins, or nothing at all!
the skinks ripping bugs out of each other's mouths is like the "expectation v. reality" version of lady and the tramp
Hahaha! Absolutely! 😂👌🏼
Your intros are definitely as good as Planet earth, I think. Who's with me?!
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼

Hey. How is Cordelia and random question how many types of isopods are there? Haven't seen the one you used before.
@@patrickharriss There are thousands of species of isopods! And many species have a variety of morphs too!

You did an amazing job with that enclosure. I’m waiting for second shipment of cork tiles for an enclosure for one of my frilled lizards.

They are incredible! Data suggests that they typically live between 7-12 years in captivity.
what sz basking bulb you use ?do they like crickets horn worms ?? their diet basically is ???
I’m using the Arcadia 50W halogen bulb! Yes, they eat a variety of feeder insects and the occasional fruit supplement (Pangea, Repashy, etc.) 😊
All of your builds are absolutely amazing! You should definitely consider creating some to sell if you haven’t already. Very talented…

Was that aquasoil in the substrate?
It’s Exo-Terra Substratum. It has similar, if not identical, ingredients as Aquasoil.
