I hope the Newfangled Four can have something similar to this. Its amazing how comedy quartets have such a massive impact on the entire community every single time. Lunch Break and NF4 will forever be a major part in many people's attachment to barbershop :)

I’ve been binge watching barbershop quartet performances for the last five days. And Lunch Break has to be, by far, my favorite group. Something about their specific harmony just hits my soul and takes me back to singing barbershop with dad and brothers as a small child. I feel joy that I was able to experience some of their final competition behind the scenes with this video.
I only found this quartet in 2016. Didn't know that they had retired from competition until seeing this video in February 2020. They should have had far more international prominence than they had. Thank goodness some of their performances are on UA-cam for a while.
I didn't realize she passed. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm just listening to this in 2019 so I know it's a late sincerest condolences, but I pass them along anyway. 🎶🙏
Look in the Harmony Marketplace for that video. They might still have it on DVD. But if you cannot find the video there then check singers.com because they too have an extensive collection of the same videos.
Please tell me they are all alive and healthy, I only found out about them maybe 3 days ago. I realize this is very selfish, but I hope they are all doing very well and are extremely happy!

I don't know about the whole group, but the baritone, KJ, became part of the quartet Midtown and finally got a gold medal in 2023. Ironically, one of the pieces Midtown performed in the finals was a reworking of a Lunch Break classic, Old MacDonald's Deformed Farm. It got a perfect score in the performance category.
I love barbershop. Was a member. But this is exactly why I left. The judges. Easily and by far, Lunch Break was what motivated me to join a barbershop chorus. The judges ruined it for me. The judges were ALWAYS pretentious, higher-than-thou, arrogant …. Every time. And very much so, possibly corrupt. Barbershop might have survived if they voted like the public on what they would pay money to see … like Lunch Break. But it was BHS that messed that up.
It's hard to identify because that chord progression is a pretty common one used in tags. Also, when the screen comes up, you can see the quartet. I don't remember their quartet name though, but that could be another means of identification.
Shane was moving from Nashville to Florida, and Eddy's kids were growing up and were requiring more attention. They didn't completely disband until 2015 (they had a few shows and sang at a Harmony Foundation event during Harmony University 2015), though.

A fantastic group of friends doing what they love. It warms my heart to see them laugh and enjoy each other's company through the journey's end.
