Same! I love the PS3, it's my favorite console. I kept up with it since it was brand new, and my dream is to have a DECHA00A dev kit, make a replica of the E3 2006 prototype by painting the shell of a CECHA01 silver with laquer, put the DECHA00A parts in it! To create the prototype controller, I'll just take a silver DualShock 3 and a regular black DualShock 3 and swap the circuitboard and button from the black one and put it in the silver one. Probably do it twice so I can have two of them.
You convinced me to buy a PS3 like 4-5 months ago and I have like 20 games for it now. Probably would have never even considered it if it wasn't for you so thank you! As someone who jumped from GameCube to the Xbox 360 then had a very weird purchase path for the video game consoles I bought from that point forward I missed a lot of these titles and they really have been fun.
PS3 does seem to have something special, it's a very pick up and play console with a giant library of great games, many of my consoles collect dust but the PS3 still gets more playtime than most , oh and paired with a plasma tv it takes it to the next level
i remember being addicted to the ps3 and everytime someone came around that didn't own a ps3 would ask what i'm playing while stood in awe. they normally had 360. i still have about 150 ps3 games. the puppeteer, 3d dot game heroes, MGS 4, infamous, siren blood curse. even to this day a lot of people ask what these games are lol. when ps4 released was the best time for ps3 prices, i picked up games for $5 that are worth $100+ now.
PS3 is what truly brought me back into the PlayStation ecosystem years after my PS2 and PSP broke. 2018 was when I got my first PS3 when everyone was already into PS4 and it gave me a head start to try amazing franchises and even PS2 HD remasters before I felt there was enough exclusives for the PS4 which I got a year later. Now I have the PS5 and although I love and of course play it all the time, the lack of exclusives makes it feel like a PS4 Pro 2.
Already bought around 20 games since I got a PS3 super slim last month. It's getting out of control but each game was 5-6€ at most... And I'm having so much fun!
PS3 had great exclusives, it was when developers were still able to release 2-3 AAA titles throughout the generation. The only problem I have with that gen is that we had too many games with desaturated colors, with dark and brown tones. I liked Mirror’s Edge and Uncharted 2 for their vivid colors, it was a nice change of pace. PS4 was the peak in visuals and it had a great variety of games, exclusives, and indies, but high budget games became too expensive and slow to produce. This gen has performance mode and fast loading times, but fewer great single player games, as development times now can take a whole generation for high budget titles to come out. And games don't look that much better than the previous gen.
Really enjoying the tone of the videos and the PS3 love. I still have to go back and play my PS3 games mostly sealed, before PS4 and PS5. I have bought it all, but hardly had a chance to play. I particularly love the 60Gb and 80Gb PS3s they look really cool.
PS3 not only has a great library it also is very ahead of it's time as far as technical specifications. Especially the old fat models that could run Linux.
The PS3 was a perfect time in gaming. It was a time when single player and multiplayer thrived together because most games released with both. It was a time when games were released relatively finished with minimal patches required. When developers were able to really push the boundaries of what was possible before. It was a time when we could see the beginning and ending of a series in the span of just 4 or 5 years instead of waiting that amount of time for a sequel. Simply put, it was a better time and quite possibly the best time of gaming.
Last week I farmed all the online trophies for Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. It was awesome to see the online community still active after all these years and seems to be the case for a lot of other games as well. I love the PS3 and collecting for it!
Dude I want you to know that I absolutely love your channel and I have watched every single video I can listen to you talk for hours and even if every video was how the PS2 and PS3 are amazing. I wanted to let you know that because of your videos, last Saturday evening while the rest of my family had gone to bed earlier I decided to peruse my PS3 shelf and I picked up a game I had never heard of and popped it in and I ended up having an amazing experience and finish the game in about 4 days playing at night. That game was Binary Domain. I had no idea that studio that made Yakuza made a Gears of War third person shooter where you shoot robots it was so much fun and such a delight to find that experience. The blessing and a curse about being a game collector is by the time you play something you may be mad at yourself for sleeping on a title for so long but also you get that Joy and sort of "blockbuster experience" from your own shelf. It now has caused made to basically only play PS3 right now and I'm currently playing through Dark Void another 3rd person robot shooter with the voice of nolan North! Its like an uncharted side story! Anyway dude please don't stop evangelizing about how great these games and era was because even though I had to deal with some pretty awful frame rates I still had an insane amount of fun and made me remember why I loved the PS3 so much. Cheers mate!
I love my PS3, and its good to hear your experience today.....the only devastating thing about the PS3 is that the games are locked on that console (with no BC on PS4/5), so there may come a day in the future when I wont be able to experience them anymore :(.....and another classic ending...'rotten bones'...lol
I came into possession of one recently. My first pickups have been the Jak and Daxter collection, Bioshock and Tomb Raider: Underworld. Can’t wait to get back into the world of the PS3
I really like your videos. You're doing a good job! Bought a PS3 quite recently cuz my cousins had one as i was growing up, and we'd play it during the night. PS3 and PS2 is so nostalgic for me. Ur awesome, man, keep at it!
I've been coming back to my old PS3 for games like GTA IV lately and I basically have gone through the same thing as you. This was my first PlayStation and while I always used to say the PS2 was my favourite console, the PS3 just has a special place in my heart. The games are unmatched. Thanks for the amazing videos. They keep me wanting to play. Also love finding a fellow Canadian! 🇨🇦
I loved my PS3 back in the day and this year i got back into it (playing on my original slim sadly my phat model died) honestly loving every second of it i now own 63 games physicaly and likely to get even more reasonably cheap console to buy for its fantastic.
The PS3 is also my favorite console, i just bought a second slim model this weekend. I think it has to do with multiple factors, it felt almost like 2 generations in one console generation. Because of its unique architecture with the cell processor, developers really started to learn over time how to push everything out of the sytem. It was the last big generational leap, when you talk about graphics compared to the generation before and in my opnion, maybe the real last Playstation console when you consider the architecture. Also, a lot of studios got closed like Playstation Japan Studio and most smaller studios got merged to focus on bigger triple a titles, instead of giving them the freedom to make more smaller and unique games. This is what you kind of seeing now this generation, for sure the big triple a games look and play amazing, but PS also kind of lost is own identity
This dude's videos are the best. I have one of the last model fats they ever put out i think. It's the 80 GB one from Target that came with motorstorm and resistance. The console stills runs like an absolute tank all these years later. I'm playing tales of graces f and some FPS's I missed like Singularity. (Highly underrated game if you like Bioshock) PS3 is simply the amazing. It even still works great as a media server.
I really haven't been playing my PS3 over the past few years due to steam ports, remasters, ect. I also don't really have a working controller at the moment. That being said this console's library is still incredible, and I have a lot of nostalgia for it as it was the console generation I was born in. I still love games like littlebigplanet to death for all the entertainment it gave me as a kid. Not to mention my favorite game of all time, Red Dead Redemption, was a game the PS3 introduced me to.
I bought my ps3 11 years ago when I was 19 years old, That console gave me so many memories, I used to play a lot with my nephew, I sold it last year and I totally regret
What i missed about the PS4 were the custom wallpapers. I always had a wallpaper from a game back in the PS3 days instead of the normal purple color wallpaper.
I have just gone back to my ps3 recently and I am having more fun with it now than when I first got it. Ps2 will always be top tier gaming for me as it was the last generation of full release games not requiring some kind of internet connection for updates or just to play at all.
Great upload/vid, man. The PS3 is a real classic system! Honestly, never got around to buying a PS4. Was just enjoying my PS3, 360 and Wii a lot. Plus the Wii U (for what it was) and, the Xbox One. Haven't got around to getting a PS5 yet. But have Switch and a Series X. But still just enjoy the hell out of all 7th gen so damn much!
I made a goal this year to finish my entire PS3 backlog, but keep adding to it as I have bought over 20 new titles within the past few months alone. Have over 80 games to get through by the end of the year and I don't really see it happening given how long I take to finish games. I have only completed three so far this year. Still love the console, which is why I have so many games for it. Thankfully I still have the one I bought in 2010 and it still works great. I wonder if you would ever look into getting a PSVita? Lots of great games on there.
I haven’t done this with ps3, but as I mentioned in one of your recent videos, the xbox 360. I went a bit overboard buying games for it to be honest, because I keep finding them in the $2-5 range when they’re selling online or in store for more. Figure if it looks interesting might as well grab for that little amount. And the quality is fantastic! I’m so surprised at how good the games look from the 2010-2014 era that I’ve mostly tried out.
Another point for the ps3 is that if you buy a special edition game like ultimate edition or game of the year edition disc, the base game and dlc are all on the disc but from ps4 onwards the special edition game disc's just come with the base game and dlc codes killing its resale value. Another thing, yes the emotion engine was "expensive" to include with all ps3s but they could have easily released software update for ps2 games but they want to sell the remaster and collections of ps2 games, funny enough jailbreak cfws actually allow you to emulate ps1, 2 and psp games on your ps3 regardless of model. The UI on ps3 was also very minimal, simple and very well organized but the later consoles it became a huge cluster of icons where you just get looking looking for a simple setting.
I bought my PS3 since 2020. I was blown away how this thing aged so well despise dated graphic. It can do beyond gaming and movie player. PS3 does support DLNA Media Center networking which later PlayStation can't do or less capable with. Never get bored with this console, It's truly an peaked Sony console. Cell Processor, Blu-Ray, Lossless Audio, PSP/PSVITA connectivity, PSN Classics, XMB, Solid Exclusives and Phenomenal Startup sound was screamed mid-2000's vibes!
Last month I bought a Fat PS3 with the 40nm GPU mod and I'm addicted to it. My PS4 and 5 is just on display rn Lol! Moreover I'm currently collecting a lot of PS3 games.
Ps3 is my favorite game in the whole universe I still play online till this day and I paid 200 for 2 of them just brought dead space 2 and going to buy all the classic ps2 games
I confirmed this weekend that CoD4 Modern Warfare and CoD Modern Warfare 3 servers still work. I also played Wolfenstein (2009), but it is struggling to open to game without errors and then also the laser needs to warm up for PS3 exclusives.
Hey man recently I found your channel and it's been a trip down memory lane. I mainly game on PC nowadays but I owned a PS3 back in 2007. Have you tried the Ratchet and Clank games on PS3? Keep up the great work.
I am torn. PS2 had the better pick-up-and-play games. The early to mid 2000s Need for Speed games being some of them. Sports games also came into their own then...when graphics caught up with gameplay mechanics. But...and this is a big thing for me...plugging the PS2 into an Android TV is near impossible without the AV inputs on the TV. And using the aftermarket AV To HDMI converter is not doing it real favors. Graphics just looks bad in any TV bigger than 32 inches. But...the PS3.... And this is where it has become my favorite console as well. Its just a simple "plug 'n play" experience. Looks great on any flats screen TV. So many iconic gamnes to collect. As of yesterday I can confirm I have a physical collection of 152 PS3 games.
Good video again man 👍 I've been collecting some Blu ray films too, I have a feeling that the old Blu rays will end up becoming really popular like how the old vinyl has become popular again. Best time to buy them and PS3 because they are so cheap it's like, it would be rude not to pick some up. Maybe you could do a Blu Ray collection video and talk about a few of the old classics?
My PS3 been in storage for 8 years and it's still working. Been playing WWE 13, pro evolution soccer 2010. It's better than anything on PS5 except for resident evil 4 remake and village.
PS3 has been my favorite console of all time since 2010. Only thing I hated about it was the dog shit ports and terrible framerates where none of that existed on the 360 version.
My ps3 broke when i was a kid. Been watching basement’s videos for the past couple of days and the nostalgia and good memory started to flow. Time for my broke ass to invest back into a ps3, leaving my ps5 in the dust until the elden ring dlc.
4:57 Indeed, and the majority of those only require a quick dns change Socom Confrontation Killzone 2 Motorstorm Motorstorm Pacific Rift NBA 07 HAZE GRAW 2 and Wipeout HD to name a few, all playable online again
The ps2 sold more but the ps3 was the more accessible console. Even now, in the age of shortages and global conflicts, games are relatively easy to find and affordable. The slim model has better ventilation and has never given me trouble. The ps3 and xbox360 era also saw the trend of activision including bot multiplayer in their cod games. Killzone also has bots. These options ensure that some games will live on even after ps3 online shuts down.
I tried playing MW3 online and just instantly keep getting, "cannot connect to servers". I should try another COD game maybe. My PS3 collection is getting close to complete. Just have to acquire some of the more rare Ratchet and Clank games.
The PS3 compared to the PS4 and PS5 is great because there are plenty of games around that you can still easily find physical copies from third-party sellers that cannot be purchased on the PS4 or PS5. Some games are The Simpsons Game, Lollipop Chainsaw, Avatar The Game, Wet, Enslaved Odyssey to the West, and LittleBigPlanet 1 + 2. Also, if you were to buy a PS3 slim and a few of your favorite PS3 titles from a third-party seller not available on PS4 and PS5, the overall price you'll be charged probably won't be that much unless you buy a game that is expensive and super rare in its physical form or just unavailable to on the ps store and can only be bought physically.
Couldn’t agree more. I grew up with the 360 and never played PS3. I’ve had a PS3 for over a year now and to me it’s better than the PS5. Better as in… more fun. The 3D games are insane but overall there are so many good games I missed out on that I have years and years of gaming to catch up on without bothering with the silliness of the current gen mess. I’ve even bought a back up PS3 just in case my current one stops working.
i sold my PS3 for 80 bucks last year because i never played it never even bout a game for it used it as a netflix device but you make me wish i had played it lol
I never get tired of listening to this guy talk about Playstation 3. I get excited about my PS3 when I watch his videos
I think ps3 is going to have a comeback somehow lol

Its been coming back since Covid. Its already here pretty much!
Yeah I've not subscribed to his channel but every of his new videos pops in my feed😂

I like this channel. He doesnt smile so i know he isnt afraid of anything. It inspires me

Put an mclassic on that plasma with a ps3 or 360 😎
@@mrbungle589 Absolutely… The Mclassic makes a nice difference, especially if owning a display supporting 1440P resolution 😎.
i remember being addicted to the ps3 and everytime someone came around that didn't own a ps3 would ask what i'm playing while stood in awe. they normally had 360. i still have about 150 ps3 games. the puppeteer, 3d dot game heroes, MGS 4, infamous, siren blood curse. even to this day a lot of people ask what these games are lol.

I’m currently playing rdr on the ps3 to build up my trophies
Ayee same here brother. At least I'm not alone
How about sharing your online names?
I've also been playing, it's such a legendary game
Better than rdr2?
Do us all a favor! Don't stop making these amazing videos 😂❤
Thank you for watching!
PS3 had great exclusives, it was when developers were still able to release 2-3 AAA titles throughout the generation. i jumped on the ps3 boat last november and i absolutely love it. glad to see you have the same feelings about the console

Good video again man 👍
I've been collecting some Blu ray films too, I have a feeling that the old Blu rays will end up becoming really popular like how the old vinyl has become popular again.
Currently playing the Last of us part one and brooooooooooooooooooooo.. I love the ps3 man
I agree it's the best. Wait till you discover the 3d display and active 3d glasses
What an amazing video. You have gained a subscriber sir
PS3 has been my favorite console of all time since 2010. Only thing I hated about it was the dog shit ports and terrible framerates where none of that existed on the 360 version.
*what an era man truly.*
I've recently started The Bureau
It's not bad
My ps3 broke when i was a kid. Been watching basement’s videos for the past couple of days and the nostalgia and good memory started to flow. Time for my broke ass to invest back into a ps3, leaving my ps5 in the dust until the elden ring dlc.
You should play BF4, bf3 and skate 3
I bought a ps3 because of your videos and i Love it :)
I hope PlayStation is watching your videos and taking notes
4:57 Indeed, and the majority of those only require a quick dns change
Socom Confrontation
Killzone 2
Motorstorm
Motorstorm Pacific Rift
NBA 07
HAZE
GRAW 2 and Wipeout HD to name a few, all playable online again
I keep getting kicked out of PSN on my ps3 😔 It says DNS error.
Thx for the videos bro I feel the same about the ps3
The ps3 is my main console. My fav is the dreamcast. The ps3 just makes me happy. I consider it the pinnacle of consoles.
Make sure you play Rain... Fantastic exclusive for the console
The PS3 is awesome seventh GEN is still my favorite
i would like to add that you can also play ps2 games on some of the slims aswell if your console is modded with cfw
Righteous, the PS3's my favorite console as well.
I wish the PS3 Slim was Backwards Compatible to PS2 Games Psychically
it is. if you jailbreak it you can put in physical discs and play them via emulator.
Man I love your videos 😊
The ps2 sold more but the ps3 was the more accessible console. Even now, in the age of shortages and global conflicts, games are relatively easy to find and affordable. The slim model has better ventilation and has never given me trouble.
The ps3 and xbox360 era also saw the trend of activision including bot multiplayer in their cod games. Killzone also has bots. These options ensure that some games will live on even after ps3 online shuts down.
i was thinking that when i got it first in 2009 untill now cool video
Trophy enthusiast also checking in!
i just have a ps3 and steam deck, i wish i could transfer all my games and trophies to steam deck
I'm liking how cheap the physical copies of games are now.
The PS3 makes for a great multimedia platform as well as being a Game console. Even more so if you have a NAS on your network.
I tried playing MW3 online and just instantly keep getting, "cannot connect to servers". I should try another COD game maybe. My PS3 collection is getting close to complete. Just have to acquire some of the more rare Ratchet and Clank games.
Great battery life for the controllers, 7 controllers connectivity, brilliant media player system, Free PS Plus and a strong catalogue of games
you deserve more subs and views
Fun Fact: Ps3 has digital AND analogue video output. You can play it even on a old sdr crt.
🙄
Went back to ps3 for the trophies and never looked back well until shadow of the erdtree dropped
I miss the PS3 UI. It was so elegant and intuitive.
I still have my ps3 backwards compatible it’s awesome
Couldn’t agree more. I grew up with the 360 and never played PS3. I’ve had a PS3 for over a year now and to me it’s better than the PS5. Better as in… more fun. The 3D games are insane but overall there are so many good games I missed out on that I have years and years of gaming to catch up on without bothering with the silliness of the current gen mess. I’ve even bought a back up PS3 just in case my current one stops working.
i sold my PS3 for 80 bucks last year because i never played it never even bout a game for it used it as a netflix device but you make me wish i had played it lol
you can buy so many incredibly good games for 2-10€ a piece and build up an incredible collection for very little money
I wanted the ps3 since 2014
